A Meeting In Moonlight - PRP - (Aika & Moon)

The harvest moon shone, a glittering rustic gold orb hanging in the sky like a ethereal peach. Lighting the night up as if it were day, making it far easier for one little songbird to tromp about. Her mother was always shaking her head at her, unused to having such a birdlike and adventurous daughter, but she was who she was. Aika had been thrilled with the news that the harvest moon had come so soon, while she was a day bird for sure, it was lovely to take walks in such warm moonlight. She picked her way through the trees she called home, keeping her tiny wings nestled against her back, the golden light of the moon shining off her bright green pelt and butter yellow hair.

She had come for the serene beauty of this night. She blinked and came out to a expansive field of long grass, cheeping in delight as she disturbed a cloud of fireflies, the glowing bugs seeming to dance through the air. She decided the field was a perfect place to relax on this night, the warm breeze making a soft song through the blades of grass, It was a pity, she thought~ that there were no others to share this with.

Just across the grassy field a slight jingle of a single bell could be heard. Moon was enjoying this small field and harvest moon. The moon always made him happy even if it dimmed out the light of his lanterns. He fluttered his wings a bit as he shook his lantern. There was a slight bounce in the flutters step.

As a patch of fireflies flew across him in a startled state he stopped to look where they had come. A beautiful mare seemed to be enjoying the blessed night as well. He watched the moon move across her body and reflect off her jewelery. He sighed wishing he could go speak with her but his shyness held him back.

Aika paused and peeped curiously, she had heard a noise that was not the tinkling of her jewelry or the wind through the foliage...maybe someone WAS out here with her!

She could not see as far in the night as she could in the day...but there...across the field...lights?

Aika trilled softly to the lights, as obviously, they were not without a holder. The cloud of fireflies burst over the area, illuminating for a brief moment, a golden stallion...she squinted a bit and fluffed out her little wings...and not only a stallion...a flutter! she noticed as the light shone and sparkled off his nearly iridescent wings.

She peeped and picked her way forward, just a little, enough distance to call to the strange flutter,who seemed to have been borne of this night. "Hellooo?" she called, her voice musical in the warm night air.

Moon fluttered his wings biting down on his lantern a little. His front hooves shifted a bit he was tempted to follow the fireflies the in the other direction. Just as he turned something pulled him back towards the mare.

With much cation he started to move towards her his lanterns bouncing off his side. As he got closer it was easy to see it was not just the lanterns that were glowing. The flutter himself was laminating that ground around him as he headed across the field.

Even as he was very close to her, he said nothing. He smiled and moved his lanterns to light her just right. Even through all the hair on his face his eyes seemed to sparkle through as he found just the right angle for her. She was quite the interesting creature with ting wings and beautiful markings. He quite enjoyed wataching the light dance about her.

Aika looked at the flutter with sparkling amethyst eyes, fascinated by the many lantern lights that seemed to be strung around him, particularly the one he was holding in his mouth. The way his coat seemed to glow under the golden moonlight was almost so beautiful to her she could have sworn he had been made of moonbeams.

" Hello~" she murmured again, a smile blossoming over her lips as she inquired "who are you?" she chirped a sweet note, fluttering her little wings. While the stallion hid his face under a flowing chocolate mane,she could tell he must be something special. She tilted her head a little, the jewelry in her mane and around her neck tinkling.To her, it seemed her little heart beat like a drum, it was all very surprising.

Moon backed away from her a little as she asked him a question. How he wished to speak with her, but just getting this close had taken a lot if not all his courage.

The flutter shivered a little trying to summon some courage, but there was nothing there. He snorted a bit before he looked strait up at the moon the back to her. Moon repeated the action just hoping she might understand his name.

She flicked an ear nervously as he backed up, she hadn't meant to make him spook...She lowered her head a little, looking at him cautiously, not wanting to make him any more nervous than he already was. He was like a delicate spirit in the night, that would disappear in an instant at a hoofbeat or a flick of the mane.

She watched him in silence, the only sound, the wind through the jewels in her mane and about her throat. Then he looked up at the golden moon above and then looked back at her. Though she couldn't see his eyes very well past his long mane she thought about it a second, making a quiet sort of warbleing sound in realization..." Ohhhhh....you're name is...Moon?"

She was sure she had gotten it right, her little heart fluttered at her breast like a trapped bird. He looked ready to bolt but she certainly didn't want him to...she wanted to know more about this curious stallion. "Moon~" she smiled at him. " I'm Aika...it is nice to meet you..."
