To put it very simply, Lennox was happy right now. He had been in a uncommonly good mood all day. He had slept so calmly and peacefully. When he woke up, it had been after that restful sleep. His day was..well...it seemed so good? Despite being trapped here, he could not help but smile as he crept down to the kitchen for something to eat. He was just a touch naughty and had mixed some honey with his milk..but not too much, as the combination had a very odd effect on him. In his good mood it was like the equivalent of having had a wine cooler.

After his breakfast, Lennox had pursued his..well..was it a job? Maybe it was. He started to scavenge. He found that the lower he went, the less he came across other patients. Of course, that also meant that the ones he did see had a decidedly dangerous look to them. Lennox spent a good deal of the day creeping about and avoiding these threatening individuals. The reward for his efforts was a small pillow that seemed to need a good washing, and some beads. Lennox figured they had been sewn to some sort of shirt in the past, as there were badly decayed threads in some of the tiny bead holes. Instead of trying to clean the pillow and salvage it, Lennox had gently pulled long strands of thread from the pillow. Braiding them together until they formed a fairly strong string, he carefully strung the white and blue beads into it. When he was done, he admired the simple beaded necklace and tucked it into his pocket.

He had considered giving it to Daniel...but he figured his shark friend would better appreciate food then this simple trinket. So...he decided to give it to someone else. That someone was who he was seeking out now. Lennox glanced up and down the hall he crept, and bit his bottom lip as he tried to recall exactly which door was Tonnys.

On the opposite end of the scale, Tonny wasn't in the best of moods. Usually she could amuse herself by trying to find as many exits to the building as she could, never mind that she couldn't reach half of them or they were too small; they gave her such wonderful ideas. Of course, she had had all the time in the world to scheme when she was allowed to come and go as she pleased. Then one day the doors were simply closed, with Bane look-alikes blocking the doors leading outside whenever she got close enough to try and open them. She had been made to find a room or risk sleeping in the hallways, and she didn't fancy that, especially not with all the doctors following her around. Oh they tried to be conspicuous, hiding in the shadows and stalking her like spies in a B-rated movie, but she could almost hear the scratching of their dorky little pens as they seemed to take down everything, from her scratches to her eyeblinks. They seldom went away, and even though at first she thought it was funny, it was fast becoming annoying, and she was just waiting for one of them to get bold enough to take a blood sample.

At least before she had been denied a way out, she had the opportunity to make a friend. Lennox was fascinating to her, with his rainbow of colors and his gentle nature. She had made up her mind that when she found a way to pull off a two-person break out, he would be the very first she would liberate. He didn't belong in here, with all the needles and screaming and doctors who watched you like vultures. He deserved to be free; they all did. Someday, she vowed, they would all be free, and the doctors could just prey on each other until they stopped existing.

It seemed a pretty long ways away yet, and things hadn't helped when she had woken up and tried to find the kitchen, only to end up getting lost. She hadn't been there for very long, and was still becoming used to the layout, not to mention she was certain that the rusty old locks seemed to change doors every so often. Now she was roaming the halls, hungry and cranky; any guard that she asked about the way to the kitchen seemed bent on not noticing her. She didn't know which was nore irritating; not being noticed or being noticed too much.

She was wandering down a hall that she swore she had been down four times already, when she spotted a telltale flash of rainbow, and she smiled with relief; in such a gloomy old place, a friendly face was as welcome as a happy song. Rather than shout at him and draw any unwanted attention, she trotted over to her friend and smiled at him. "Hi Lennox; hey, can you do me favor and show me where the kitchen is? I think I'm lost; again. This was so much easier when I had the view of the outside too."

Lennox's head lifted a bit as he heard Tonny's voice sounding close. Well...he was pleased he would not need to wander around in search of her. "Hello Tonny" He spoke with a honest smile. His tail swayed behind him in a easy and limp motion, the colorful tip from time to time flicked up in a unconscious twitch. His hand lifted and the black fingers gave a faint wave to the girl.

It was odd, as he had noted in his journal not too long ago. It had taken getting locked in this terrible place for him to discover so many things. He had learned why he had been unhappy inside. He had discovered why he had the oddest allergies. He had discovered what was, for all sakes and purposes, what was wrong with him. On top of that, he actually had...friends? Maybe? It was too soon to really say, but he had become more open and spoke more friendly with people here then he had his entire lifetime. It made him feel both relieved and sad at the same time.

Wiggling his bare toes under him, Lennox waisted for Tonny to finish her approch to him. His hand dug into the pocket of his vest as he continued to smile at her. "I was looking for you. I found something nice that I wanted to share with you." He pulled the thin beaded necklace from his pocket and held it up between the two of them. "Isn't it nice? I found the beads the other day while scavenging. I would like you to have it."

Happy to have found someone to take her mind off of the ever-annoying presence of the 'hidden' doctors, especially someone familiar and friendly, Tonny clasped her hands behind her back as she talked, the very picture of innocence overkill. "Really? Did you find something.....interesting?" If she hadn't known the walls and shadows had eyes, she would have asked him if he had found a way out. That was more or less her coping mechanism after it became clear that she could not leave; she was always looking around, trying to pick up hiding places and escape routes. She had found so many interesting doors, but all were locked and barred. She figured that if she had been able to reach most of them, the ventilation shafts might prove promising; that and if they were large enough to accomodate her at all. She was confident that the doctors following her; whitecoats, as she less-than-fondly referred to them as; had no idea of what she was doing, or else they would have tried to stop her. She had come to believe that the vast majority of them, despite their uncanny ability to see everything, failed to observe, and were therefore stupid.

She was only slightly disappointed that Lennox did not lean forward and disclose the discovery of a new secret passageway or a door that had it's lock rusted through and was therefore passable. Her eyes widened at the necklace and she brought her hands together in front of her in a gesture of delight. "It's so pretty! You made that.....for me? Thank you!" She reached out to take the necklace, holding it to her like a magic talisman. "It's beautiful......I won't let them take it from me." Blinking suddenly, she smiled at Lennox and leaned in so that she could whisper. "If we find the kitchen, I could make something for you. Not food, but something really good."

Interesting? Lennox glanced to the beaded necklace as Tonny took it. That really was the most interesting thing that he had found. With a flick of his tail, he took his time to enjoy the way she reacted over the simple gift. There was such satisfaction in knowing that his gift was that appreciated.

"I used to make things that looked far more lovely then that." Lennox found himself making an excuse for the necklace despite the approval Tonny was showing for it. His hand slifted and made the motion of fitting two things together. "I had a hobby kit that I could use to make wire based jewelry with. I had a box full of beads and stones, little wooden chunks that I could carve and burn or dye. I loved making those things."

He found himself leaning in towards Tonny as she in turn leaned towards him. Upon hearing her words, his tail twitched behind him and he smiled faintly. "Oh. I know where the kitchen is. I could show you. I'm not sure if anyone is in it right now though. If it's occupied you can't go in. The cafeteria has...questionable food to eat then. I'd stay away from any meat you can't easily identify though."

It may have seemed like such a humble thing in the eyes of it's maker, but to Tonny that necklace was a reminder of home, a happier place that was lost to her now. Her Uncle had always been making presents of his lesser inventions, and while many of them seemed downright silly to her, she knew that he had meant well and took the gift for what it was; a sign that she was still loved even when her parents had passed on. Tears sprung in her eyes, and she fought them back before looking up at Lennox. "I think it's a wonderful necklace." Sensing her friend's use of the past tense, she tilted her head. "Did they take your kit away? I could try taking it back if you want."

She chuckled at Lennox's words. "That's good; I'm a little hungry, but I can wait for now. I want to take something from the kitchen to make for you, so I'd rather it not have anybody in it. And I'm not planning to steal anything to eat, especially meat. What I'm really looking for is a nice big bread roll; have you seen any of those in the kitchen? And it doesn't have to be fresh; I'd actually prefer it if it was all stale."

There was some sort of emotion within Tonny's features. Something he had said or done had effected her. He had to wonder what it was, and if it was something he needed to avoid in the future. He had so little right now to hang on to. So little to use to rebuild himself. He did not want to take any chances of undermining his future just because he was careless. "I am pleased that you like the necklace." He murmured with a slow curl of his tail. When Tonny spoke of retrieving his tinkering kit, Lennox glanced down the hall to hide his own features under the veil of his rainbow hair.

"No. It is not here, so it can not be retrieved. Do not worry about it though." He discouraged Tonny from thinking about the kit, or so he hoped. It was not here after all and it was best if he did not speak on it. He did not want her to think sadly of him, or for himself to think sadly either. Instead he decided to bring the focus back around to the kitchen.

"That would be no problem in truth. The food they serve to us is hardly fresh or pleasant. I am sure there will be a lot of stale bread there." Lennox glanced back at Tonny and smiled faintly. "I believe that they keep the fresh and good stuff aside for the staff and doctors. I can not imagine that they feed them the same things they feed us. Plus...since I have been sneaking into the kitchen I have been finding far better foods in there." Lennox made a small gesture with his hands. "Daniel and I are going to see if we can make our own kitchen! Then I will only have to sneak into the kitchen for supplies and will not have to risk discovery due to needing to hang around and cook things. Perhaps once we get the kitchen made, you can come and use it from time to time..I will just have to ask Daniel if it will be alright with him first."

"I really do love the necklace." Tonny smiled a happy smile at Lennox. For emphasis, she placed it over her head and let it slide down into place on her neck. "I actually feel better now that I have a necklace again; I had one when I first came here, but I think it must have broken it when I snuck in here and I lost it." She contemplated looking for it, and in so doing find herself a way back out of this place, but she remembered the first time she had tried to get back out and found all the doors closed and the nooks blocked. Undoubtedly someone had already stumbled across her necklace and taken it.

She smiled at Lennox as she gestured for him to accompany her to the kitchen. "That sounds typical; I bet they eat nasty stuff, like pigs feet and fish eggs. But I sure wouldn't mind a nice big sandwich, with unwilted lettuce, meat that was still good, and dijon mustard that actually IS, and not really yellow mustard that's all fermented." Chuckling, she walked on toward where she knew the kitchen was. "Is that so? That sounds like a nice idea, but I would be careful if I were you guys. For one thing, the smell of decent cooking is sure to bring every hungry soul in this place, and I bet they won't all be pleasant. I would make sure you have ventilation of some kind to carry the smell away. But I wouldn't mind using it; I'd love a good old-fashioned grilled cheese sandwich sometime."

Forcing herself to take her mind off such good fare, she soon saw the doors leading to the kitchen. She peered through the grimy porthole-like windows in one of the doors, smiling to herself. "Looks like we're in luck; there's lots of bread loaves over by the sink; I bet they were going to soften them up for people, never mind that that's a great way to spread mold around." She gestured to Lennox. "I guess we could take some decent stuff too while we're here."

Lennox felt a strange sense of satisfaction with the accepted gift. As if somehow, by taking his gift, it made Tonny safer to be around. Lennox looked at it around her neck, then pulled his eyes away to focus on the other bits of their conversation.

"I have found some strange food items." He admitted with a gesture of one hand. "But mostly I have found fresh fruit and vegetables, meats that do not look half browned without cooking, as well as many other things. Ah! And milk!" Lennox's eyes lit up a little as he spot of the milk. "Very good milk, none of that watered down over processed pretend milk."

Tonny's warning about the scent of food gave Lennox pause. "I had not thought of that. I shall speak to Daniel about it. I do not want to draw some unpleasant ones to the kitchen accidentally. I mean, I am certain Daniel could handle any of them. He is very fierce you know?" Lennox's features relaxed a bit as he spoke of Daniel. "I think he is a excellent room mate. I merely have to convince him to let me tidy up the room more though."

Lennox paused when they reached the kitchen, and he waited for Tonny to peer through the small window. As she did so, he slipped his vest off and folded it over his arm. "Is there anyone inside? They keep the doors locked when no one is in the kitchen, but I always like to double check just in case."

Tonny couldn't help making a face as she heard Lennox's remark about watered-down milk as she peered through the dirty window. "Eugh, reminds me of skim milk; I always told my Uncle that it looke and tasted just like the wash from a paintbrush. I imagine watered milk wouldn't be much different." She smiled as she looked back at Lennox. "Looks like there's no one there; I bet if we could break one of the windows and reach the handle on the other side, we could open the door. It seems like in most places like.....well, like this, they don't enforce the kitchen as much as the rest of the place. They probably aren't concerned with the patients eating themselves to death."

She pondered for a moment as she turned around and watched Lennox slip off his vest. "It must be nice having a room mate; someone to watch your back when you know there are doctors prowling around watching you. I've managed to cover some of my inner windows with newspaper, but I'd rather have something more colorful and something that reminds me less of those scary movies where the monster peeks through the gaps at you and all you see is a creepy old eye. There are enough monsters around here without imagining that, you know?" She nodded as she paused to grab a few apples that looked minimally bruised. "I've seen him; he DOES look fierce. I just hope he gets left alone and not muzzled or something."

Lennox eyed the glass of the window, but shook his head a little bit. "If we break the window, then others will get the idea too. Then the staff may start taking steps to keep them out, perhaps even locking the good food up and making it even harder for me to get in." He explained as he peered in through the window in question.

"Oh..." He spoke with a small blink, and glanced at Tonny. A faint smile tugging at his lips. "Yes. I really do like being Daniels room mate. He makes me feel safe enough at night to rest. Before we shared a room together I was always too afraid to pick a room for myself. I was so afraid of getting trapped alone within and getting cornered or something. I definitely agree about the monsters thing. I ran into one for real my second day here."

Lennox placed his hands on his belt and hesitated. "I...In order to get inside I need to...remove my cloths. Would you mind covering your eyes for a moment?" He asked with a faint blush creeping into his cheeks.
PostPosted: Sun Sep 05, 2010 11:51 pm

"Oh right....." Tonny shuffled her feet and looked a little sheepish. "I wasn't thinking that they might pick up on the idea and enforce it. I'd definitely want to come back here again and continue to take things, especially if you and Daniel plan on making decent food." She blinked suddenly at Lennox as he peered in through the window. "Harder for you to get in? HOw'd you get in without breaking the window?"

Distracted momentarily by Lennox's remark about monsters, Tonny fell to contemplating when she had first become stuck in here. Some would think that she had been persuing a monster, but she had come to realize that the real mosters were the ones roaming the halls freely and without any danger, and the caged ones were the real people, just looking to survive until either help or death came for them. She couldn't help but wonder if the monster Lennox had run into was a real monster or a pretend monster.

Tonny blinked then as she was pulled out of her daydream and blinked at the oddness of the request. "Uhm.....okay. I would ask why you need your clothes off, but I've a feeling I'll see soon enough, won't I?" Smiling a little, she pointedly turned her back and tried to find something interesting to look at down the corridor and doing her best to ignore what she was certain was one Hell of a show behind her.

Lennox had unclothed before Daniel a few times. Mostly because his room mate had refused to give him the privacy his modesty had desired. He was growing used to it..but to unclothe around Tonny was so very very different. Lennox realized this as he hesitated in removing his pants. Lennox glanced up to ensure that Tonny was not peeking. Not that she would..she was too nice and good of a person. With a small flicker of his wings to release some of his anxiety, Lennox dropped his pants and shuffled away a step from Tonny. Clasping his hands before him, he murmured under his breath.

"Okay...so...just...yeah...wait a few minutes..." He reminded her before he closed his eyes. Transformation was starting to come easier and easier for Lennox. Of all the forms he took, this one seemed to be the most common. Primarily because he used it so often to get into the kitchen. Daniel did not seem to want him to use his one form..which confused him slightly. He would have assumed Daniel would have enjoyed such a transformation more. Perhaps it was the knowledge that he was who he was under it all that made it seem unappealing? And the cat form...well..he only used that when he wanted to run quickly from one place to another, as he had finally gained the courage to sleep next to Daniel in a untransformed shape. So this form...the gerbil...it was really the only one he used on a regular basis...but gods...it hurt the most out of all the changes.

Lennox did his best to keep the small sounds of pain from sounding from his throat. But it was difficult when you could literally feel your bones breaking and grinding down against each other. Or when your inner organs were compressing in on themselves, your heart felt like a invisible bag was around it, shrinking and squeezing it to the point you were sure that it would not be able to beat anymore. Lennox hated these feelings, how he wished that he could learn to transform without any sort of pain!

When it was done, Lennox ran his small paws over his little black face. His opalescent eyes blinked and peered around as his rainbow tipped tail flicked back and forth nervously . "Eeep. Eep." He squeaked up at Tonny as the sign he'd given her...oh...please...he rather hoped she wasn't the sort to scream at the sight of a mouse...
PostPosted: Wed Oct 06, 2010 7:45 pm

Despite Lennox's spectacular attempts to keep the sounds of pain to a minimum, Tonny could still hear what she deemed to be some freaky-a** noises behind her. There were tiny pops, like someone cracking their knuckes under a pillow, and muted grunts that she knew meant that whatever Lennox was doing behind her, it couldn't possibly feel good. "Are you alright?" she asked quietly, only half-expecting an answer; if Lennox was dealing with any sort of hurt, he would probably be too preoccupied to answer. He had but to put a hand on her shoulder, or appeal to her in some other physical way to cause her to turn around and give him aid, though she still felt bothered by the thought of him being in too much pain to do even that.

Just when she thought she could no longer stand it and simply HAD to turn around, she heard a tiny 'Eep Eep!' behind her, like the squeak of a mouse. Not expecting such a noise, she turned around in surprise, doubly so when her eyes met empty air. Where had he....? Her eyes suddenly caught a flicker of movement on the ground, and she looked down and gasped to see a small black gerbil peering up at her with strsnge, shimmering eyes....Lennox's eyes. Never having been one to shriek her lungs out at the presence of one of Mother Earth's tiniest beings, she knelt down and peered at the gerbil, surprised at it's sheer nerve. Unless.......she tilted her head as she looked harder at the gerbil. "Lennox?" Her face broke into a wide grin. "It IS you, isn't it?"

Oh...thank the fates that Tonny had not screamed. He wasn't quiet ready to dodge the crushing blow of a panicked females foot stomp quiet yet. His guts still felt all squished together, like he was wearing pants far too tight around his waist. However, as the second ticked by and he grew more used to his current form, the uncomfortable feeling melted away. Lennox peered up at Tonny as she knelt down and peered at him. "Eeep." He squeaked in answer to her smiling question. He bounced on his large feet in a pair of quick little jumps. With Tonny's clearly enchanted expression, Lennox could not resist..well.. playing on it. He ran his little paws over his head, pushing his ears forwards until they popped back up, and placed his small paws on the tip of his nose in a mock shy pose. He batted his pale eyes up at her, tipped his tail into a question mark sort of flick, then darted towards the kitchen door.

In his current shape and size, Lennox easily wiggled under the bottom of the door. His tail flicked about before disappearing. Once inside, he pricked his ears forwards and listened carefully. His nose twitched as he sniffed the air. He could smell all sorts of things. Some of which he really rather would not have smelt. Lennox took his time ensuring that there was no one present in the kitchen, before closing his eyes and reversing the transformation.

A part of him wondered if this sort of changing may not have been healthy for him. It hurt so much...though the pain did seem to lessen in time. Before it would take him a good ten minutes to finish his transformation. Now it only took him two or three to undergo the change. It was still terribly unpleasant. Pop pop snap! He could hear it all in his skull. It made his ears tingle even after they were back to their 'normal' pointed shape.

When he had changed back, Lennox sat on the floor for a few moments with his eyes closed. His back leaned against the wall and he spoke while reaching up to unclick the lock. "Okay. You can come in now. Just...hand me my cloths please."
