Kichaa'noga was out late once again, something she had begun to make a habit out of since the arrival of so many cubs within the den. Even if her mother didn't like it, she didn't happen to care; there was no way she was getting her to stay within the den longer than she had to with so many little cubs running around causing a ruckus. She had started adopting her days to playing with Egeman or bothering local Pesar with pretend funerals, games of tag and general back-talk which had gained her many a talkings to about her behavior.

Earlier that day she watched as yet another new Banu came to join their den. She had watched as Kwea brought her home, bullying her along the way. She couldn't help but feel sorry for this girl, someone her age being thrown to a male so much older than her. Her sister Koko didn't seem so pleased about there being a new girl either, but those were for different reasons. She didn't want the attention reserved for her to be torn away from her some more, and if Kichaa had even liked Kwea she would probably have felt the same, but she didn't, so she couldn't relate.

Kichaa sat out on a stone she had found another Pesar on previously and sprawled out on it lazily, deciding she was going to stay out on this rock until it was too cold for her. She looked up at the night sky as star after star began to show itself and smiled. It was pretty. Peering around to make sure no one was around Kichaa began to hum to herself. She had listened to Kifaranga sing while lurking around in the shadows and thought she had a pretty voice, even if Kifa happened to dislike her mother. She wished to ask her for singing lessons, but didn't think she was very good. In reality she sang well enough for it to sound pretty to the untrained ear, and sometimes that's all that mattered.

With sigh she stopped humming and form a few words to the song spinning around in her head, "There are white magnolias outside. Flowers purer than the snow. They stand up straight and bloom proudly. Kind of like you."

Aziz'Din was one of the youngest in his family, and there was a lot to his family, so that was truely saying something. Since cubhood, he had hated the hustle and bustle of the cubs, the constrat prying for attention that had to happen to get his mothers attention, and even more so to get his father's approval or for him to even notice him. He adored his family though, even if they were so busy all of the time and the sheer number of them was overwhelming.

His mothers wouldn't notice if he was out a little later than he should be, since he tended to just blend in with the crowd of youth in the den. He couldn't wait until he was older, when he had banu of his own and could make himself a wonderful Pad in the pride, someone his father would take notice of and be proud to call his son. Not that his father wouldn't be proud of all his sons, but Aziz'Din wanted him to be especially proud of him.

Hearing a faint singing in the distance, Aziz'Din narrowed his eyes. Most Banu and Pads would be tucked safetly away in dens by now, and that voice was certainly female, so that meant some Banu was out wandering, or maybe a stray female had walked into the pride? That was unlikely but Aziz'Din was curious now.

As he stalked closer, it was fairly easy to see the bright red cub on the grey rock, and he narrowed his eyes further, watching her from a distance. Pad Kwea was her Pad, wasn't he? Aziz'Din loved to know all the pride members, their harem members, their children. She didn't look much like Kwea but he had seen her around Pad Kwea's den, so it would make sense.

Well. She was still out far later than she shoudl be. "What are you doing out here so late?" Aziz'Din asked, striding over to the rock.

Kichaa hadn't noticed Aziz'Din walking up to her until he addressed her, causing the bright red Banu to jump midway through her little song. At first she thought it might have been Kwea coming out to drag her back to the den, acting as mean to her as he did to poor Nesrin; another reason as to why she didn't want to go home at the moment.

Noticing that it was instead a Pesar of her age made Kichaa calm herself quickly. She had nothing to worry about because it wasn't Kwea, and he couldn't exactly do anything to her because she wasn't his. As he asked why exactly she was out so late, she averted her eyes from him, her own small sign of defiance without being detected.

"Enjoying the night's silence," She said, looking up to the sky, watching more stars peek out from the sky out of nowhere.

Aziz'Din didn't notice her moment of fear, nor the small act of defiance which she did either. It was late and the male was not at his most observant, nor did he think to watch her for signs of bad behaviour. He had gotten used to the banu in the pride being well behaved, having never met anyone with kajira behaviour before.

As she spoke, he frowned. "Do your parents know you are out so late?" He asked. He didn't say 'father' since he was not sure her parentage completely, though he knew she must have a mother in the pride at least, or perhaps Kwea was her father, he didn't know. It was simply easier to say 'parents' than face the possibilty of being wrong.

"Momma is far too busy being Beybanu and watching everyone else's children to notice Chacha being gone," Kichaa muttered, trailing off at the end, feeling that it didn't matter either way. Whether she was there or not she wouldn't be noticed, not with the overwhelming amount of new cubs brought into the den, as well as the new Banu who just took up even more room.

"Chacha doesn't care, though. I like not being stepped on," She said, peeking back over at the Pesar. Why was he even asking her these things? Didn't he have other things to do? Other Banu to pester? Kichaa was sure he probably already had a Banu of his own back at his den, so why was he walking around as if he was patrolling the lands?

It made the bright red Banu's fur rustle. She hated being told what to do, when to do it, and not being given an ounce of freedom ever. It may be something that the other Banu in the pride enjoyed, but she didn't enjoy it one bit. She just wanted to be free to do what she wanted to at the time. Whether it be pick flowers and make crowns, hunt for something for just her to eat, or go swimming without having to be hounded about whether or not it was appropriate.

Aziz'Din listened to the banu, but he was not watching her, and was instead scanning the surrounding area. They were some of the few out, and they were the only in that area who were out and about, so it was rather secluded. He frowned, knowing he shouldn't be alone with an unclaimed banu, and thought of simply wandering back to his den, but he was far too conscious of his manners to do that, and instead refocused on her words.

"I know the feeling," he muttered, almost to himself, before glancing back at her. His family was far too big, in his own opinion, for one den, but it was the ways of the pride, to have many cubs and his father's den was in no ways small. "The land's temperature plummets at night, be careful or you might catch a chill and your parents will know you've been out," he remarked calmly, having done that himself many times. He didn't see anythign wrong with advising her on that. He was simply being a caring pride member by warning her of the night's temperature.

He wasn't encouraging, nor repremanding her for staying out against her family's wishes, afterall, he was out and about as well so he could hardly be a hypocrite. Well, he could be, but Aziz'Din disliked that idea. He cared for the pride, which meant each individual member, though if he found out she made a habit of sneaking out, he would have to tell her Pad. For the good of the pride. In his eyes, it simply wasn't proper for a female to be without an escort out at night at her age.

"Chacha will keep that in the front of her head," Kichaa said, not as eloquent as some with her words, but managing to get across precisely what it was she was speaking about.

Peeking back over to Aziz'Din, she tilted her head giving off a bored yawn. He seemed like a goody two-shoes-stick-in-the-mud to her, maybe it was just the way he had been raised, but she wanted to change that quickly. Well behaved anything was boring, like watching the dirt get dryer.

"Do you like games?" Kichaa asked, her white-tipped, crimson colored tail swaying side to side as she awaited his answer.

Aziz'Din nodded simply, and did not continue that conversation with her. He could have told her other hints to stay out of trouble, but he didn't like the idea that he would be encouraging her to break the rules. She was not his sister, so he was not honour-bound to help her, or to protect her, so she was on her own now. He had given her the one hint that she would get from him.

At her question, he scrunched up his nose. "Games?" The word was said distastefully. "Depends, I suppose. If it's educational, like pouncing so I can learn to hunt, or playing Pads or something, then yeah but-" he peered at her. "I don't think those were the games you were thinking of."

"No, no they weren't," Kichaa said as she scrunched her nose a bit. Anything 'educational' was boring, except for maybe the pouncing game, but he would definitely not play as rough with her as her brother, Egemen would, and would find it 'unladylike' if she even tried to play roughly with him. She didn't understand why boys were like that sometimes, sure she was a girl, but she wasn't some delicate flower that was going to break just because they got a little rough.

"Chacha likes fun games, not boring things that mock what happens here daily. My brother plays fun things with me, like wrestling, or soldiers. Not boring things, like Pads." She muttered offhandedly, her displeasure with the activities everyone always did surfacing rather vibrantly.

Why on earth would he think that she'd want to play a game that involved mocking what she was 'supposed' to be doing the rest of her life once she reached adolescence. If she wanted to be prepared to be a good, or at the very least decent, Banu she'd actually show up for her mothers instructions instead of running the pride attempting to keep out of sight most of the time.

Aziz'Din frowned at the banu at the tone of her words and the expression on her face. What was wrong with educational? He liked educational games! They were less time-wasting then the other games, else they were just...not worth doing.

He scowled at her comments. "Wrestling? Soldiers? Clearly not what a banu should be doing! Your brothers are spoiling you." He muttered, with a frown. How dare those pads ruin a banu like that? Sure, he play fought with his sisters sometimes, but he made sure that they knew this was no what they should be doing. But that was only when they were younger. As Juveniles, she should know better, as should her brothers.

"You will never learn how to be a proper banu if you don't play educational games, or actually learn how to act so you won't get in trouble." The pride didn't need any more kajira. What they needed was obedient and well rounded banu. Not ones that wrestled.

"Boring," Kichaa said plainly, looking over to him with a scowl, "You like boring. You like girls sitting off to the side, giggling in their paws at you, ducking their heads and going 'Good Morning Pesar'."

Kichaa sat silent for a moment, her pink eyes scanning out over the lands she resided in. Why would boys want borings girls? Was it because they were boring? Did they think it'd be easier to deal with a boring girl instead of one who had a brain in her head? You could be a good Banu while still being interesting, couldn't you?

"Chacha doesn't like boring. Chacha doesn't want to be boring. I wanna be something more than just a Banu. It's boring having babies and raising babies. Chacha wants to be something else," She said, sighing heavily, a sad look on her face. She didn't want to follow her mother's footsteps. She didn't want to go with some male and be forced to bear his children and get him food ever single day.

"Chacha wishes she could fly. Than she could take off into the air and see everywhere," She muttered.

Aziz'Din frowned at the female before him, who was actually scowling and back-talking him! “That is how proper banus should behave!” He snapped at her, a scowl building on his face also. Banu should be obedient and quiet, not like this female who seemed to be the opposite of a good banu. He felt a little saddened by that, she could do so much better.

It is a fufiling lifestyle, and if you were actually good at being a banu, you could be more than a banu and become a beybanu! That is a great honor, but by the way you're acting, I doubt that would happen.” He sniffed, and frowned heavily at her next words. As a cub, he'd entertained the notion of flying, but not so he could escape the pride – which was how he saw her words and her wants – but to examine every area of the pride and know more about it.

The pride is not something you should want to escape from. You should be proud to be a part of the Ukuucha'Wafalme!”

"A beybanu is still just a banu," Kichaa said dismissively. "You wouldn't understand."

Kichaa didn't care that he was scowling, or even yelling at her for that matter. He was just a stupid boy, who didn't understand anything. He got to make choices in his life. He could leave if he wanted to and never come back. She couldn't. From the moment she was born she was told how she should act, and what her future would be. She didn't get a choice in anything. She didn't even get a choice in who she would be given to and when.

Kichaa was surprised every day when she wasn't just given away to someone else. Ripped from her mother and her brother, the only two people left in this world who love her, never to see them again. Sure, other banu got to see their families, but knowing the p***k she'd be given to someone who'd watch her every move and treat her the way he treats Nesrin. She hated him.

"It's not fulfilling when it's not what you want," She remarked, looking towards his direction, but not at him. She looked as if she was looking past him into forever.
PostPosted: Mon Dec 06, 2010 6:31 pm

Aziz'Din scowl only grew deeper at her comments, his mouth nearly pulling back into a snarl. How dare she say that? She was disrespecting everything his father had worked to put together and to keep together, everything that their forefathers had fought to protect. How dare she?

Any rank in this pride is an honour to take,” he said stiffly, “but with your attitude, you'll likely become a Kajira.” He couldn't believe that someone born into the pride wouldn't respect what they all stood for. He frowned. Perhaps he should suggest his father look in to her family. If they had raised this one wrong, who knows what other children they might be harbouring.

He shook his head, and returned his gaze to her. “You should be more careful with who you speak with of this. I would hate for your bad attitude to reflect badly on the pride.” He felt the need to leave her presence, else he would speak more hastily and foolishly in his defense of the pride, but he feared what kind of poison she would go about spreading to the other females, about being birds and flying away and other nonsense.
