I took a creative writing class in highschool, and one of our first assigments was to write a page long (or longer) description of creativity. I thought this was an interesting concept, and made me think about creativity in a different way. So, obviously, I'm not expecting anyone to write a page or more about it, but I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm not just looking for a dictionary entry, but rather what is your interpretation of creativity so be....creative!
Also, tell me about what helps your creativity? Where do you feel most creative, and what helps get the creative process flowing?
For me, creativity is a feeling, as well as something more. It's a desire to let what you feel or visualize out as well as the method to do so. It can also be a physical sensation-- a tingling that fills my head and makes me want to let it out. It's excitement--a rush every time I get a new idea.
I'm most creative in a structured environment, or also when I'm moving (like driving in a car). School is a really great place for me to write and be creative because the structured environment helps me focus on my ideas, and they tend to flow better. However, many of my initial ideas come from driving in the car or in an airplane. There is something about seeing everything go by that lets my mind wander and be creative.

I always thought of creativity to be of what you can pull out of your heart and mind and show it to the world as something no one has ever seen before. Something no one has ever read about or heard. Something that everyone can relate to in their own way without thoughts that turn into a wide range of conformity for everyone to think the same way.

This pickled vegetable...The problem with that is that there's really nothing that NO ONE has ever seen before. The best you can do is create something that's different enough from what it was to be considered "new". Take Hamlet and Disney's the Lion King for example. ... could kick your a** !!

But see, that's what you think. :] I believe in more than what people think is out there. Everyone's heart and imagination is different. Somme people know how to dig deep enough to find originality. Others don't. But me? I believe in more than what we've already got.

I will not be pleased if I'm asked to write a page of what creativity is in Writers Craft.
To me, creativity is taking in ideas from the world around you, and showing the idea in a new form, or light, or whatever.
