All he wanted, all he cared about, all he wished for was an afternoon to himself. Of course, considering the fact that his immediate family was so large, and his extended family even larger, Hewa was probably not going to get his wish. In fact, if he was a betting lion, he'd bet on it. He hunkered down on top of a rock, and stared off into nothing. There was a big lack of females he was NOT related to around these parts, which was a problem for the young male. He wanted a life mate, even at a young age he knew that. However, he wasn't going to find one around here!!! The pride didn't take well to outsiders, and the ONLY ones who really went out enough to find others were the Ghosts. So guess what he wanted to be? Hewa sighed, and closed his green eyes like he had a headache. Which was starting to brew. Honestly though, why did life have to be mean like this to him?

Unfortunately for Hewa...he was right about not being left alone. Because one sibling, a certain white and pink adventurous sister, was taking advantage of the trees that covered their birthland. Pale blue eyes narrowed, muscles bunched, and a mischievous grin appeared on a flower-pink muzzle...
"DEATH FROM ABOVE!" And she sprang from her tree-limb, onto her brother below. She didn't stay any semblance of serious for long, her play growls degrading into giggles. "Gotcha Hewa!" Score? Lach-ngoma: fourty-eight. Family:....two. In her head, anyways.

The shout came and Hewa didn't even move. Oh, he knew exactly who it was alright. He knew who it was right away. There was only one family member that would do such a thing to anyone else. Instead the big guy just braced for impact. He could take the hit.
Soon enough his sister hopped off of him, and he looked at her with a blank stare. Why did she always do those things to him.
"Are you ever serious?"

Ngoma pouted, ears drooping as the cubbish expression took over. "I'm serious sometimes!" The pout turned into a grin as she perked right back up. "I'm very serious about seeing everything there is to see in our home, and one day being a mathair like Ma and Aunt Codail!"

"So you keep saying."
He was still trying to figure out how to properly explain his situation to the powers that be. The pink maned lion stretched and looked down at his sister with a sigh before just blurting out the question on his mind. No filter, remember?
"So, who are you looking at to take as a life mate? Or are you even doing that? We're related to too many to have good pickings."
One track lion is one track. Considering his age, it was a bit understandable. Females be on the brain.

The pink-faced adolescent blinked. Then sat. "Well...I haven't met him yet. But...I think I'd like someone like Da. Or Uncle Dagda. Someone that I know loves me very, very much." She nodded, almost sagely. "Definitely not someone like Uncle Narci though. Uncle Narci is nice, but he likes himself too much. I definitely don't want a boy like that."

Hewa just stared at his sister. She had given him an answer to a question he hadn't asked. He hadn't asked about traits or what not like that. Instead he had simply asked her who. As in, who in the tribe seems to be a good life mate, because pickings were slim.
"That's not what I asked. Do you think we can afford to be picky? We're related to almost everyone! It's just gross to the fact we're so inbred. We need to bring in fresh lions and lionesses, or else were gunna ALL be related and have cubs with six legs or something weird like that."
His nose wrinkled up and he shook his head so that pink mane spun around. Hewa sat up and rolled his shoulders before hopping down to where Ngoma was. She would think of things like that though, she was Ngoma after all, and a girl.
"All I care about right now is not being related to her. And it'd be cool if she was cool. I don't think I'm going to find somebody for me in the pride."

Ngoma rolled her eyes. "The fact I gave you criteria should tell you I haven't met anyone yet. And I can too be picky. I'm not looking in the pride. I know better than that. Even if we didn't have so many relations, we still need new blood. Simple as that." She sighed.
"I like home but...sometimes, I wanna see what's out there. See who we can find. But Ma and Da say there are enough Seekers. And I don't want to leave for good."

Hewa smiled, the first time during the entire conversation. He didn't smile too often, because he was such a straight faced, serious thing. However, the fact that his normally silly sister was taking this serious made him happy.
"I feel the exact same way."
He did not want to leave his tribe, his home. His family. No he wanted to make a family of his own here. And live happily ever after. That sort of thing.
"The only thing we could do is stuff were not suppose to. Like sit around the border and watch others as they pass or something."

Ngoma giggled. "Well that's where training to be a Ghost comes in handy! WE'RE not spooked by every new thing, like Shairi is." She moved to bump his shoulder with the top of her head. "And...we can always keep an eye out for when the Seekers bring someone new home!" She grinned. "Who knows...maybe they'll bring home someone that's mate potential for us!"

He smiled at his sister. He really did have a soft spot for her, because she was so silly. It balanced his so seriousness. He butted her head with his own softly before nodding slowly. Sometimes others thought Hewa was slow, but he was just... okay, maybe a touch slow. Just a little though.
"I hope so, for both our sakes. But then we're in the same basket again. We need lots of new lions to mate together and have cubs to mate our cubs to. It's not the same if we keep mating with the new lions, still the entire pride will be related in the end."
He had been thinking on this problem for awhile now. That much was for sure. He was set on it, like a dog with a piece of meat.

"True." Ngoma sighed and nuzzled him a moment before flopping on the cool surface of the rock. "I 'unno...Maybe Ma or Aunt Codail or one of the Master Druids will figure out a solution. I mean...they all See things we don't. With so many pride members gifted with the Sight, SOMEONE will have to see an overarching answer, right?"
