Pain... Pain... this is too much... She thought, eyes closed and her breathing was labored. She had bruised sides and a strained shoulder, her neck was shredded and her face was cut, her ears torn. She was definitely worse for wear. The darkness had not been kind to her. Her cloudy grey fur was dyed crimson from her blood. Her eyes were heavy as she limped and stumbled across the water she had stood in with Andragos not long before.

I can't go an further than this... she admitted to herself, hating the fact that a little blood loss weakened her this much. She managed to get into the den she and Dragos had spent the evening in and collapsed on the hard cool floor, coughing when she hit the ground. She groaned, wondering 'Dragos my dear... where are you?' and soon she lost consciousness.

User ImageWhen Fairyn hadn't come back from her run after a few days he had gotten worried. That and his gut was saying something bad had happened to his mate, something awful. So like the good mate he was, he had explained to his pack that he needed to search for Fairyn. Though he could handle the pack on his own, it wasn't the same without Fairyn and besides he knew she couldn't be dead. So he had looked all of them in the eyes with that ever endearing look he perfected and went out to look for his mate. It definitely wasn't the most alpha thing to do but just letting his mate go somewhere out there when he felt pangs of pain that something was wrong wouldn't stand by him.

He had even left Oghren, letting the turtle sort of be a placeholder for Andragos as he went out and searched. Now a pack of wolves vs a turtle would end in the turtle's demise but he knew that his wolves were not like that. They were not brutal creatures who'd kill Oghren and ascend to Alphahood, if they were he wouldn't have let them stay in the Pack. Again his mind went to the task at hand so he stopped, nose to the ground and inhaled. He found her scent that had lingered for a few days, old and faint, but he could find her and so he set to work following the path.

She had been weak when she'd arrived, and while that had not changed, she was no longer on the verge of death, but it took a lot out of her just leaving the den to get a drink and then back. She was tired and sore, and some of her wounds kept reopening and bleeding so she spent as much time lying still on the furs as possible.

She was lonely, but she was safe. She knew that given a little more time she'd heal and she'd be able to return but she worried about Andragos and Kora and she needed to tell her mate what had transpired during the battle with the Darkness... and she needed to discuss their choices for the Beta position for warriors in their pack, since they had not made a final decision yet.

She sat up and slowly made her way to the Den and then inhaling as deeply as her bruised ribs would allow she released a soft howl that wouldn't carry all the way across the forest, but hopefully to their territory.

User ImageAndragos' ears swiveled to catch the sounds and his head went up, he knew that howl that was his mate! Tail raising he sniffed the air and then howled back loud enough for the woods to hear his anguished cry before taking off. Fairyn, her voice was weak and he didn't know how badly injured she could be so as he paws slammed against the earth he bade them to run faster.

As he pushed through the brush and trees he reached the den, panting and tired. There inside he could smell Fairyn and a lot of blood. With a whimper he entered, cautious even. "Fairyn?" His voice was soft careful not to spook her or have her get up. "I knew I should have went with you, I shouldn't have let you go on your own. Stupid stupid stupid." Growling the last part at himself as he came up beside her. "I'm sorry." He licked her gently at the wounds and laid down with her.

Faiyrn looked up at him, grateful he had found her. "Hey, shhh... It's not your fault... the pack needed at least on Alpha to stay with them..." she murmured softly. "You did as was necessary as a pack Leader. It's not your fault. Admittedly, I should have been less reckless in my fighting..." she laid her head on his shoulder and released a long, slow sigh.

"I'm glad you're here now." she murmured softly, ears back as she closed her eyes to rest. "I'm sorry you've worried so at my expense... I'll be alright though, eventually." she murred, her voice slurring as she became sleepy and began to doze lightly, completely at ease now that he was with her and she knew she was safe. She opened her eyes again. "It has come to my attention that our Leadership in this pack may not come across as 100%, and I believe we need to pick Betas, and soon... in the case that this should happen in the future..." she mumbled.
