Throughout the short history of mankind, we've had a thirst for knowledge and advancement. Delving into the computerized world and into areas that would have been considered science fiction just a few years before, we continue this search for knowledge and advancement. However... outcomes arent always as expected.
During the development of teleportation devices in Tokyo Japan, something went awry. What was supposed to simply convert matter into data, then relocate, was now tapping into the long forgotten spiritual magics of the world. Using the data materialization, creatures, resembling those of legends and myths, began to appear. The superpowers of the world quickly reacted by bombing Japan, but it was too late. The creatures spread and destroyed everything. Mankind fled underground in hopes to wait it out...
Years later, a few ventured from their underground sanctuary. It seemed safe, and mans pride led them to beleive victory, so they built a grand monument. A large tower leading towards the heavens, able to hold part of the population of the ruined Japan. Other parts of the world soon followed.
Soon after however, the demon activity slowly came back. Humungous obelisks sprouted from the ground around the large towers, and the demon activity further accelerated. People feld the towers in fear back to the underground sanctuaries. Some however decided to act and fight back, while others joined among the demons to further the rule over the world.
You shall now start where it began... in Japan.
