It had been almost four days since she had eaten, and herds seemed scarce. It was lucky that for her that she had spotted this old stallion when she had. It wasn't as fat as it could be, but then it wasn't as fast or alert either. There was a smallish herd of the striped beasts not far away, but this one seemed unaware of its danger. Against the whole herd, she didn't have much chance but one old stallion shouldn't give her to much of a problem.
Her green coat stuck out a bit more in the dry grass then it would if there was more rain, but, if her luck held just a little longer, the preybeast wouldn't turn and see her.

Seizken had been in this land before, of that he was sure. Though he felt lonely has he walked in this land, it was the place he had meet her at. As he sighed he whispered under his breath, "I must forget..." Since in his heart she'd always be there, though he knew if she cared she wouldn't have left. With his head in the clouds he suddenly tripped over something green maybe a green coat, and fell to the ground with a bang. A loud Thump that could frighten even the smallest creature was the noise he made as he landed! "what on earth did I trip over..." he thought outloud to himself.

Just as Ampalaya was about to spring, something walked into her and landed beside her. The old zebra perked up and immediately ran back towards the herd. Ampalaya was annoyed, and heard, 'What on Earth did I trip over?' Ampalaya stood up and shook of her coat. The lion was bigger then her, but she was hungry and now she was irritated and wasn't too worried about being rude. Her ears went back as she scowled at the lion who was now sitting in the dust and grass. "That was me, you great lump. You just scared off my dinner. And I'm hungry."

"Oh I'm sorry," Seizken said with slight care in his voice. His mind was not here on earth it was somewhere entirely different. He couldn't help but think of her and when he did his heart ached. It felt as if someone had stabbed him in the chest and ripped out his heart. Never in his life had he felt this way before, and the only conclusion he could draw was he made the mistake of trusting someone. "You know I could catch something for you to make up for it," he said as he heard he had scared off her dinner. Plus deep in his mind he thought maybe if he hunted something down he could forget about that female.

Ampalaya lifted her ears. This lion seemed awfully distracted - and awfully sad - like he was carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. It made her feel a bad for snapping at him.
She was nosy enough to want to pry, but polite enough not to. And she was hungry.
"Well- I mean - why don't we try to find another zebra or something and we can bring it down? It's not like I can eat a whole one by myself."

He had been trying so hard not to show his pain around other lions, since it wasn't their burden to bear. Though this lioness seemed different somehow, but he wasn't quite sure how or why she felt that way. As soon as he heard her awaited reply, Seizken couldn't help but attempt to smile at the other lions slight kindness. Even though she was a female like the one in his mind, she wasn't that female. That in itself gave him a slight relief, since at least he now had some company despite if they did meet with him scaring away her food.
Deep inside though he felt relief brush over his heart, that the lioness wasn't to angry at him scarying away her dinner. "Sounds like a good plan to me," he said as a response. Though just as he spoke his stomach began to grow rather loudly. "After all I can't remember the last time I ate."

"Eating is a good plan, especially if it's been that long." Ampalaya looked back toward the zebra herd. "They'll be spooked now, but there are sure to be a few out there that are easy pickings."
Ampalaya wasn't sure whether she should offer the lion more comfort then a shared hunt and the full stomach that would result. Maybe once there was something to distract him from his hunger he would talk a little and open up. Then she could actually help him before travelling on.

"I agree they will be probably on high alert now, so where do you think we should start first?" He said with the best smile he could give. While he did hurt he knew this stranger was being more friendly then anyone but her had ever been. So the least he could do was try to smile some, she was being rather kind after all.
After looking towards the lioness once, he wondered inside if maybe she could help him. Help him with the pain he held inside and help if find a little comfort. Well he wasn't sure but still everyone needs to eat, so it was time for hunting!

Ampalaya turned silently and lead the way around the heard, to another edge where some of the old and young grazed. "I think this will be a good spot to strike from," she said quietly. "I'll move around from behind them - see the old stallion, there? He's got a bad leg from the way he walks. You strike when you see me moving, alright?"
Whatever the lion needed to talk about, it would be easier on a full stomach.
