In which Flora gets it in her head that she should adopt a young yearling into her family. If only to have a sibling that is around her and she feels really likes her.

Glancing around as they passed through the brush and into the forest, Kisungura nearly stuck to Flora's side, staring at everything, the trees here were so big compared to the plains. Even more green than the mountains where the tallest thing you ever saw was a bush or a shrub. "...Flora....where are we going?"

Flora smiled down at the little yearling. She was such a sweetheart how could she not want to bring her into a family like hers? Besides, she needed someone that was in her family to be around her. "We're going to where my mommy lives~" She said happily leaning over to nuzzle her newly adopted sister. She wasn't quite sure what her mom would say... but she was cute right? Mom should accept her... right?

Kisungura didn't feel so sure now..and felt very shy and wary...the forest wasn't any place that she was used to and it showed, her ears just dipping back behind her head. "...I hope she's nice...and likes me." Flora has said that a 'mommy' was someone who took care of you and helped you...

Flora stopped and smiled turning to Kis and wrapping her neck around her own neck. "Kisungura I bet my mom is just gonna love you <3 You're such a cutie <3 How couldn't she you know?" She nuzzled Kis a few more times and then nipped at her ear in a playful way. "Don't worry. You're very cute <3 My mom likes pretty things! Just be sure to tell her how pretty she is... and she'll love you I'm sure <3"

"Okay..." Kisungura nuzzled back leaning into Flora's side for a moment. Just meeting and talking to new people was so very strange sometimes, compared to having to live on her own and just try and find enough food to eat. She didn't MEAN to be so full of questions but so much of this was new to her. "..what does it mean to love someone?"

Flora lifted her head, still where she was, having no problem to have Kis nuzzled into her; she liked physical contact and she was used to it as well. "That's a good question..." She mumbled her eyebrows knitting together slightly. She didn't really know an answer to that question... all she knew was the love for her brothers... And even that didn't feel like love anymore. Mainly becuase she always felt like one of them just hated her guts... "I mean... I don't really love anyone... like amate or something." She said looking down at her. "I mean... I love my mommy... and I love my daddy... and I know I love you cause you're gonna be my sister no matter what <3" She said giggling and nosing the top of her head. "So maybe... Love is just a bunch of good and happy feelings, when ever you think of someone, or are around that someone... does that make sense?"

"...What's a mate?" Kisungura tilted her head looking up at Flora, and she smiled a little. So maybe the nice feeling she got around Flora and meeting other Herla was something like love. She did smile at the thought of Flora being around and there for her, and just a bit happier.

flora giggles. "a mate is what moms and dads are! theyre two herla that love each other sooo much they want to spend the rest of their lives together. and have babies and do all those sorts of things!" she said nodding her head; happy with her explination of the aspect. "yeah! thats what a mate is! i don't have one yet... but lots of guys around here keep trying to be mine." she said giggling and nosing at kis' side in an affectionate way.

"Oh, okay!" She smiled her fluff of a tail twitching a bit happily, Kis laughed..it was a tiny little dry laughing sound, more like a deep chuckle. "Why do they want you to be their mate so badly?"

flora frowned at that question; and a sadness hit her eyes. "because i'm pretty..." she said sadly taking in a breath, and letting it out one smooth breath. "but thats not a good reason ok?" she said seriously looking at kis. "if you ever like someone; dont do it cause theyre pretty ok?" she asked looking down at her with a serious look. "like them cause theyre funny and sweet and strong and all the things that make you feel good ok?" she asked again; though it wasnt much of a question at this point. more like her talking to herself.

Kisungura nuzzled Flora's neck as the older doe got upset..she hadn't meant anything by that question but the reponse...it sort of made sense. "I will. I'll be very careful." She replied looking nearly silly as solemn and stern as a yearling could.

flora smiled and giggled getting back into the same old Flora that everyone knew and loved. "but its not like it matters now!" she told her bumping her rump with her own and startng off again in the direction of her mothers home. "yearlings shouldnt worry about stuff like that!" she giggled again. she looked down and saw a few pretty flowers; she bent down and picked a few lifting her head up with the flowers in her mouth. "here!" she mumbled around the stems and put them behind kis' ear, tucking them in them in tightly there. "there! you look so pretty kis <3" she told her proudly. her little sister was beautiful.

Kis beamed and almost blushed...was she pretty? Maybe Flora's mom would like her and adopt her if she was. "Really?" She replied bouncing forward in a little excited leap, trying to keep her ears still and the flowers tucked into them. It wasn't as successful as she hoped but...still she FELT pretty.

"of course!!!" she squealed to her; bouncing around with her and loving just being able to act like a yearling again. "all of my family are beautiful!" she proclaimed proudly because it was absolutely true."and i know Robin; my brother is gonna love you

Kisungura bounced again a few more times to keep up with Flora's strides, this would be wonderful!

Flora smiled proud of herself and how happy she was able to make her newly adopted sister. She really was gorgeous, she hoped that she knew it. Just becuase she looked a little rough around the edges... She was certain her mom would be happy to have her! She was gorgeous after all! And her mom would love to have a kid that was interested in asking questions and stuff... right? She hoped so.

"How much farther?" She was nearly prancing now, somewhere between nervous and happily excited.

"Just a little bit!" Flora said happily as they were soon starting to be surrounded by overgrown vines and flowers and plants. "Just be careful, look out for the vines." She said nodding her head and slowing down slightly so she herself wouldn't trip. Something she felt she was prone to do.

".....wow." Kisungura felt herself looking up, pointing her muzzle up as far as it could go so she could see as many of the green vines and flowers. She stopped just staring upwards at all of the deep green foliage.."......wow..so many colors.."

Flora smiled as she looked around herself as well before stumbling a bit. D8 She looked at Kis hoping she hadn't seen that. She could feel the blood going to her cheeks in a slightly embarrassed manner. "Yeah.." she said quietly, she remembered when this whole place had put her in awe. "it is really pretty... Mom has worked long and hard to get this place the way it is." She said, she'd helped her mom with some of these. And now... now she didn't help her anymore. she frowned inwardly a bit though she was still smiling on the outside. "I really love this place..."

"It's so green and pretty...there was never this much of this kind of green up in the mountains...ever." Kis murmured, still staring up into the canopy before she too tripped up and stumbled. "Ooof!"

Flora stopped and stumbled a bit but she didn't go down, she turned to Kis and nuzzled her gently. "Are you ok Kis??" she asked nosing at her to try and help her up. "You're not hurt are you???"

"Mhmm hmkay." She muttered staggering back up to her feet. "I just wasn't watching for the vines that well..."

"good." Flora said nuzzling her a bit before moving on, not wanting her to get hurt or something. "Just be careful now ok!" She said wiggling her tail as she pressed through a few more bushes until they were in her home. "Mooooooom!" She called out looking around her. but she didn't get any response... "I don't think she's here..."

"...should we just wait?" Kisungura pushed her way ducking down behind Flora as they got into the grove. "...it's so pretty in here...all of these flowers.."

Flora nodded her head looking around the small circular clearing her mother and father have made for themselves. "Yeah, let's just wait for her." She said brightening up slightly. She moved and then laid herself down. She smiled up at kis. "Tell mommy that, and she'll get really happy. She loves her plants. A lot."

Kisungura nodded in understanding, walking about carefully around the vines to look at the lowest hanging flowers in awe for a while before coming down to lay next to Flora. "They're really big..and I've never seen so many..."

Flora beamed, full of pride for her family. They really were amazing... if only they all loved each other as much as she loved them all. "Plants and things are mom's life, dad's life is all about herbs and stuff, which is pretty much the same." He said giggling a bit as he said so. "How long have you been on your own Kis?" she asked looking up at her.

"...for a long time. I mean I don't remember much...there was...someone when I was really little who watched over me, but they left...and they never came back." She lay her head down thinking about it. "I just started walking and...well...there wasn't anything there, so I had to look for food...and I just..slept where I slept, and found food where I found food, green stuff or warm stuff."

Flora nodded her head and nuzzled into Kis in an affectionate manner. "Well it's alright Kis; cause we're here now..." she told her nodding her head. "And even if mom says it's not alright to have you here... then that's ok too; cause you can still be my sister. I promise."

"Thanks Flora," The tan yearling leaned her neck over Flora's smiling. Even if things didn't work out well...It wouldn't be the end of the world. Flora would still be her friend!

"You're so strong Kis <3" She said giggling lightly and then moving her head so that she could lay her head down as well. "I don't know what I would have done with out a mom..." she said with a slight pull of her lips into a

"...I don't think I'm particularly strong...I think I just did what I could, so I could keep doing my best at things...or just.." She smiled a little. "Even if I wasn't good at something...I learned to get better."

"...I don't think I'm particularly strong...I think I just did what I could, so I could keep doing my best at things...or just.." She smiled a little. "Even if I wasn't good at something...I learned to get better."

Flora nodded her head in awe of this little yearling. She really was strong. And the way she thought... was how her guardian talked sometimes. This was a very chill and groovy little fawn. "What are you good at?" She asked curiously.

"Climbing! And jumping and well.......catching stuff for dinner." Some herla didn't like having to chase down supper, but Kisungura was kind of proud that she'd gotten the pounce-and-crush motion pretty well down. But she loved climbing and exploring into places more than anything. "One time, I climbed all the way down this steep gully and at the bottom I found this key! Took a while to climb back up...but it was fun!" Her fluffy tail wagging happily.

Flora's face fell when she heard that she... caught things for dinner. "You.... You... you eat meat?" She asked gulping lightly and closing her eyes, trying not to just start freaking out. Trying to keep her breathing even. She didn't want her little sister to think she was mad at her... Just... upset about what she chose to ate.

".....there wasn't much green stuff up in the mountains. Mostly bushes, some grasses and...iiiich...green flaky mossy stuff."

She made a face, thinking about having to eat those flat mossy things (lichens) again made her mouth turn dry. "I like things down here though, cuz there's more sweet green stuff to eat."

Flora nodded her head as she said that. And if she were a delta the color would have been returning to her face for sure. She nuzzled into Kis and licked her a few times as well. "Well... It's not good to eat living breathing creatures!" She said gently nodding her head. "Cause they feel pain... and they get hurt, and they feel just like you and I do. You know what I mean? But I suppose, that when you're up in the mountains... and I geuss there isn't much to eat it's alright. But down here... try not to?"

"...Okay..." Kisungura looked a little sad at that thought though, she always felt better after catching something and eating it. And not eating that stuff would mean no more tasty frogs for snacks. She squinted and murmured at getting her neck and shoulders licked giggling in that dry chuckle again. "I'll do my best to not eat anything living...and if I hafta do so, I promise to make things quick and painless for them."

Flora smiled wide at this. Somehow... when she'd had this conversation with Robin it hadn't gone as well. Then again, he wasn't hunting becuase he had to. He was just doing it for fun... "That's a good compromise." She said giggling and flopping down on top of her slightly. Squirming against her in a playful way. "I like having a sister <3"

"Me too- ee!" She squealed and giggled as Flora flopped down on top of her, wriggling. This family thing was kind of fun, if everyone was going to be like her new big sister! Now she had someone to play with.

Flora smiled as she laid against her new sister. She stopped wriggling around and just sort of stayed still, listening to the both of them breath, and smiling at the sound of Kis' heart beat. "I bet you would look really pretty with a sunflower in your hair." She told her honestly. "One like mine~ it would make your hair really stand out and your eyes pop!"

"Would it stay in? My hair is so short...everything just falls out...I'd have to get something to clip or tie it in..." She mused thinking it over and laying her head on Flora. "I'll try and find wires to tie one in with!

"You know I'm not sure..." She said lifting herself off of her and lifting her head slightly in thought about that. "It might..." she told her nodding her head at the thought. She giggled a bit and got up to pick a few flowers with long stems and then got back down to lay with Kis. "I'm gonna make you a flower crown!" She said excited at the thought. "That will stay in for sure!"BitternBright

"A flower......crown?" Kis tilted her head curiously, watching Flora work with the flowers.

Flora nodded her head as she pulled together all of the flowers in a big pile and began to tie pull two at a time into her mouth and tie them expertly, holding them gently in her front hooves. After about 10 minutes all the flowers were tied up together and she set them down gently. "See~" She said with a happy tone to her voice. "It's a circle of flowers, and you wear it on your head 8D like a crown!"

"Never worn a crown before..." She was wiggling her tail excitedly, stretching out her neck to lay her head down and look at the crown with an intense stare..as if trying to get every detail into her little head.

"Well you're pretty like a princess so you should wear a crown." She told her with a slightly seriousness to the way she spoke. She leaned down and then lifted up the crown in a very delicate manner before putting it on her head. Making sure to place the crown around her horns. "There! look at how lovely you look!!" Flora giggled to her, nosing her cheek sweetly.

"Really?" Kisungura looked around for something to see herself in...she didn't -feel- especially like a princess, all pretty and soft...she felt a little rough, like the sandy areas she went to roll around in to scratch itches.

Flora nodded her head. "I think so yes." She said sweetly. "But there are lots of different princesses. <3 you're a very unique and special one to be sure."

Kisungura smiled at that looking at Flora adoringly. "Coool."

Flora laid her head down gently and leaned it into Kis' side as if she was holding her close. "how do you like the smell of that?" She asked wiggling lightly.

"It's soft..and pretty....kind of cool and warm at the same time...cause I smell the sunflower and I think about the meadows where they grow and how these're open...when the sun's out." Kisungura just spoke as seriously as any youngster could...and that just seemed to be how she was naturally. "What're the blue ones called?"

"Morning glories~" Flora whispered, as if that made them magic. As if that gave them some sort of special power, as if you weren't just supposed to say their name any time at all. She smiled and nuzzled into her lovingly. "They're kind of like trumpets that welcome in a brand new day~ Just like right now they're welcoming you into a brand new family. Cause even if my mom says no; from now on. You'll always be my sister."
