 ‘Where to go, where to go?’ The mare asked herself as she looked around at the meadow she had found herself in the middle of on this classically beautiful morning. The gold gilding of her mask caught the sun delicately.
She had spent plenty of time to make certain that her hair was perfect. Life is like a masque, after all. One must put her best hoof forward at all times. Despite her mother’s warnings she had yet to meet a Casanova of a stallion. This lead her to think that her father was a special case. And he hadn’t come around in years!
Who needed him? She didn’t!
Not with her Uncle Claude and cousins around. They were all the male figures she needed. Her mother did well without one and Adoree had more going for her in that respect. At this age she felt she knew it all. The world was her oyster.
She was used to attention from stallions and secretly welcomed it.
They thought she was pretty.
They must be right.
Being pretty gave her self-worth.
The mare with her merlot eyes smiled to herself and headed for the shade of a nearby tree. After all, there was no sense in sweating like a pig for no good reason, was there?

 Yawning deeply the large stallion shook himself, making sparks of light shimmer from the gold that adorned his clothing and the mask that covered his face. He had been travailing for months, bidden by his Queen to act as ambassador to the Sapphire Court, and before that it had been the Mountain Kingdom and the Sky Court. (Really, that had been a tough one, being with out wings how had she thought he'd actually get UP there???) he had been to places he had never heard of nor could have possible imagined until he went, but finally.. he was allowed to come home, back to the land he loved and the soquili who lived there, specifially.. two mares.
Smiling softly he wondered how Alaure was doing. Gods but he had missed her... never a day went by when she wasn't in his thoughts. And his adopted daughter Rosie, his little Rose Princess. Was she well? She must be nearly full grown by now...
Wincing as he stepped in a hole he brought his wandering attention back to the present and looked around, crimson eyes sweeping over the wide hillside that rolled lazily down to a river far below.

Smiling softly he pricked his ears and set out over the rolling grassland, maybe he would find Alaure soon, she lived around here. Suddenly something shimmered in the shade of a large tree close by and he stopped. A soquili? No, a mare and a pretty one at that.

Her front half looked rather like her mother, her hindquarters; her father. A glimmer of light caught her attention and he turned toward the stallion. She turned her eyes toward his briefly to acknowledge him, a soft smile fluttering onto her face before her eyes went to the flowers at her hooves. Something in this stallion seemed familiar. She tried to think of what it was.
It wouldn’t come to her, but it was her elder sister; Raffaele.
She had no idea she was standing before the stallion to whom she’d threatened to run to the many times she and her mother had clashed when she was growing up. She found him rather handsome. An understatement, really.
Like begets like, after all.
So, it was really no wonder she was rather taken with this stallion’s features. But he was the Casanova her mother had warned her about.
“Good day.” She said with a polite dip of her head.
She noticed him, he noticed her, and she noticed him noticing her. All around, there was a plethora of noticing.
It was new and exciting.
