 Nyota had been pacing in the den all morning. How long had she been forced to stay here against her will? Pausing she moved a corner of her bedding to count the claw marks she had scratched into the floor for each day she had gone without seeing Tamu. Fifteen. Fifteen long, boring and lecture filled days. She couldn't take it anymore! Her parents had left earlier in the morning to attend to their duties leaving Nyota alone, well mostly alone if you didn't count the guards who kept coming by far too often to check on her.
Screw this, she was leaving and they could try to stop her if they wanted to, but she would make it out to that meeting spot today. Slowly she walked towards the entrance of the den, glancing this way and that. There was no sign of any guards nearby, unless they were hiding themselves in a nearby den or around the corner. A growl rumbled in her throat, she would not let them stop her. Springing from the den Nyota raced through the prides lands, aiming for the border. With each step her heart began to race with excitement. Soon she would be free, soon she would see him again.
Nyota, no longer caring if she was spotted or not, let out a roar of happiness as she crossed the line that marked the prides outer boundary and into the lands of freedom. Her paws carried her quickly towards the fallen tree, her eyes scanning looking for any sign of that blue, white and brown hide she so desperately wished to see.

 Was it sad that Tami had discovered the roots from the fallen tree made a prety decent makeshift den? Or that as time went by h'd started spending more and more time at said tree in hopes of seeing Nyota...they hadn't spoken since the day they'd gone to the cave and he feared this time her punishment had been..well something awful. Maybe it had been so bad that she would never come back. That thought worried him something fierce.
But even as his hide shivered at that thought he heard the unmistakable sound of someone approaching and crawled out of the makeshift den to investigate. Nyota's purple hide wa impossible to miss and letting out a whoop he charged across the grass to meet her.

The fact that she was yet to see Tamu anywhere near the tree was not at all disappointing, because right now in this moment she was free. And he had promised, so chances are he would eventually come around. But then she spotted him, crawling out from what looked like the spot where the roots of the tree were. "Tamu!" She called out happily and put on an extra burst of speed.
When they got close enough Nyota launched herself at him, effectively tackling him to the ground when she came down. Oh she had been longing to see him for far too long and now that she was here with him, she never wanted to leave his side ever again. Nuzzling against his cheek Nyota let a very loud and happy purr rumble in her throat. "I missed you so much."

Tamu chortled with glee when Nyota tackled him to the ground and didn't resist as all despite her smaller size, willingly rolling to the ground and nuzzling her back. It was funny but he'd never thought he could miss anyone so terribly as he'd missed her - and sure he'd known he'd missed her but exactly how much hadn't made itself known until he saw her again.
Well you know what they say - absence makes the heart grow fonder right? "I missed you too" He told her without trying to get up "I was afraid maybe they'd done something awful to you for the last time" He admitted looking her over critically..though he doubted they'd actually hurt her, scar's wouldn't be ladylike.

Nyota placed her paws on his chest and held him down, a playful smile on her maw. "Nothing more awful than any other time I have gotten in trouble. Yelling, more yelling, being confined to the den. It's sort of a routine now." A very, very boring routine. Giving his nose a lick Nyota finally stepped off of Tamu and laid down beside him. The yelling was certainly worth it, however, as it reminded her of just how much she liked Tamu and how she wanted to spend more time with him.
"I hope you weren't too bored waiting for me. I tried to get out earlier but it seemed mother got the guards to watch me like a hawk. But I guess even they got tired of watching me, since I got out so easily today." Come to think of it now, her escape had been far too easy. Normally she had to at least dodge the guards, hide behind rocks or plants to make it all the way to the border. Today however she had simply ran right through the prides lands without seeing any of them. A sudden fear struck her and she glanced over her shoulder towards the way she came. Oh god, had her mother set up a trap and she had fallen right into it?

Nyota thought she was soooo smart, like she was the first teen to ever rebel against the way things were or try to sneak out and no god knows what out on the plains. Maus huffed slightly at the thought her daughter considered her so easy to escape...but she'd how her soon..and she'd figure out just waht her daughter kept running off to do.
"What could possibly be more important then learning to be a proper noble?" Maua huffed at Kivuli whom she'd dragged along despite his protests about other things to do - what could possibly be more important then their daughter?!? Nothing - espechially when it was their mostly purple daughter. She could be so much more then either one of them if she only wanted to!

Kivuli had given up trying to calmly point out to Maua that Nyota was and always would a rebel. Had she not previously said that she had given up on their very purple daughter and was now dragging him along to go look for her. "I'm sure there is a perfectly good explanation for her running off." He assured his mate even though he honestly couldn't imagine what that reason would be. Plus pointing out anything right now would just anger Maua more, so instead he padded along beside her, once again playing the role of the supportive mate that he was. Besides how bad could it be? Sure Nyota snuck out to the rogue lands or down to the forest to visit the commons, but what was so bad about that? She was a responsible young lady after all.

Tamu nodded as she recounted her punishment - it sounded like she'd gotten exactly what she expected and it must have been worth it since she'd come back right? "I was terribly bored" He whined at her playfully as she laid down beside him and he puled her closer with one giant paw. "But I think it was worth it now of course" He told her with wink.
But Nyota didn't seem to be paying attention anymore and was craning her neck to look behind them. "What's wrong?" He asked also turning around to look and spotting.."Um Nyota...is that..I mean those speck's there they look like.." Ah crap...

Perhaps under any other circumstance Nyota would have just cuddled up against Tamu as he pulled her in closer, but no, she was still too gripped with fear and concern to do just that. Her eyes were busy scanning the horizon behind them and then she saw two outlines. Her heart sank. They may be too far away to clearly see the colors on them but Nyota knew in an instant it was her parents. Instantly she pulled away from Tamu and got to her feet. It's not that she didn't want her parents to see her with him, she just thought it was better to face them when they got here.
"Stand your ground." She told Tamu. "My mother will try to push you away for sure." Nyota raised herself up to her full height, standing tall and staight, staring defiantly as the two figures slowly came closer until she could clearly see that yes indeed it was her parents. Her outside may have been looking calm and ready to challenge them, but inside her mind was screaming at her to run and her stomach was doing several uneasy flips.

"There you see?!? you SEE?!?" She all but yelled as what was unmistakably her daughter stood up and scrambled away from another lump on the ground. A lump that Maua knew with all her sinking heart was going to turn out to be a male lion. Question answered..what could her daughter be running to all the time...a boyfriend! Curses!
"She's going to ruin her life, absolutely ruin it!" She railed at Kivuli as she stalked foreward tail lashing to confront her daughter. "What do you think your doing?!? And with...with...with THAT!" Maua had finally drawn close enough to really look the male over..he looked like mud spattered with sky. He was ugly and splotchy and completely NOT purple. Unacceptable!

Kivuli had indeed spotted the purple hide of their daughter so close to another lion. It didn't shock him all that much, Nyota was getting older and soon would be a full fledged adult. Teens usually sought out the company of other teens and in Nyota's case the company of male teens. Of course when he got close enough Kivuli saw that it wasn't a teen at all but an adult lion whom his daughter was with. Kivuli was disappointed, but not quite angry. Not yet at least.
"Now, now." He began in a calm voice coming to a stop beside Maua. "Let's approach this calmly. There is no reason to be upset." And even though he knew those words would probably result in a good tongue lashing from Maua he felt the need to at least attempt to keep the situation from getting too much out of control.

Tamu blinked at Nyota a she told him to stand hi ground...did she expect a real actual fight? The way she was standing said yes and the way the mother screamed agreed.
At least the father sounded sensible and Tamu finally over his shock scrambled to his feet and tried to make himself look as non-threatening a possible - which considering that he was still a fairly young lion, really just out of his teens himself wasn't that hard to do.
"My names Tamu" And then because it seemed wise to placate her added "Ma'am...sir" Because lets not anger the dad either right? Even if he wouldn't stand with being called 'that'

"His name is Tamu!" She snapped at her mother. How dare she refer to her friend...was he still just her friend, or more...as 'That'. At least her father was the ever cool headed one and was trying to keep things calm, which Nyota knew wouldn't last long if her mother had anything to say about. She fought to keep a smile from crossing her maw, Nyota knew that one day something like this would happen thanks to her rebellious ways, but never imagined it would involve the male that had been her cubhood friend and now, was a bit more than that.
"I am doing what I want to do. You can't stop me." There was a definite tone of defiance in the young lioness' voice. She was tired of even remotely pretending she was going to listen to her mother. Today was the day she broke free from under her mothers paw and earned her freedom, one way or another.

Maua sneered at the male "I don't care what you are called...rogue" She told both him an her daughter before rounding on Kivuli "At least we know now where her bad behavior is coming from" She told her mate, loud enough for the other two to hear "Clearly he must b done away with, he needs to be taught not to take advantage of malleable young lion" She told him before glancing back at Tamu and ignoring Nyota completely.
"Frankly rogue.... you ought to be ashamed of yourself, trying to seduce someone so much younger then yourself" She told him - despite the fact it was obvious he wasn't that much older "There are words for Lions like you and none of them are good. Drive him off Kivuli!!" She turned back to her mate with demand in her eyes.

Kivuli restrained the smile and chuckle that threatened to come out. He knew in his teens he certainly hadn't been the picture perfect noble, and could recall on several occasions where he had somehow convinced Maua to skip lessons and just go have some fun. Of course he did eventually settle down to become the somewhat laid back Noble he was today. Sure he took his rank very serious, but there were times where having a little fun and relaxing were needed as well. Plus one of them had to be the more level headed of the pair, and it certainly wasn't Maua.
He would have argued with Maua that they should at least talk about it. Perhaps see just what his intentions were, but when he aught the look in Maua's eyes he knew it would be best - for all of their sake - to do what he was told, to a certain extent of course. "Have no fear my dear, I will take care of him." He stepped forward, then moving towards the pair of younger lions and when his back was completely to Maua he gave them a reassuring wink, knowing that Maua would not have seen it. He also hoped Tamu would catch on, as certainly Nyota would, that this was just for show to quiet Tamu and nothing against him.
Letting himself puff up to full height Kivuli looked down at the smaller male. "Move!" His voice boomed and it sounded like he meant business. And then to accentuate his point he pushed against Tamu starting the show of driving him off.
