The Perfect Pokemon Game

How would you make Pokemon perfect?

So I realized something. People cheat to make the game more fun. The game should be fun without cheating.

Let's all throw in our cool ideas.

  • This game would have just one version. And every single pokemon would be available to catch. No Nintendo events necessary.

  • No HM's! The game would be open ended with scalable enemies. (I hate how linear the game is.)
You start off at Pallet Town and you could travel to Johto to battle Clair straight away. Her pokemon would scale down relative to your level.

  • TM's would work like Move Tutors. You can teach them more than once.

  • Every trainer you encounter in-game would have 6 pokemon.
Pokemon the game itself isn't very challenging when it comes to in-game battles.

  • Smarter enemy trainer AI.

    Not So Honest Abe
Maybe have an easy, medium, hard setting that will dictate the ai intelligence for beginners make pokemon more accessible to newbies

  • You get to pick 6 pokemon from the very beginning instead of one. The selection would include every first stage evolution from Abra to Zubat. No legendaries or ubers. (Why are we limited to one? Certainly Prof. Oak has more than one pokemon...

  • A pokemon hatched from an egg (bred) would inherit the highest IV's from each parent, plus gain +1 in all IV's. (This way, you could get 31 in all IV's without hacking. It would just have to take frickin' forever.)

  • The Everstone would pass on the nature of the mother 100% of the time.

  • Genderless pokemon asexually reproduce in the Day Care. EDIT: Fail. I thought that genderless pokes couldn't breed since they have no egg moves. Apparently they can breed with Ditto.

  • A pokemon hatched from an egg (bred) would gain boosted experience (level up like a traded pokemon).

  • IV's and EV's would be displayed in the summary.

  • You could change their natures. Like a Day Care that changes the current nature to a desired one, but only after many steps and a hefty price-tag.

  • You could change their EV's. This would be similar to the Day Care system. Many steps and a ton of money to do, but it's possible with effort.

  • The GTS lets you search for pokemon you haven't seen before. Shocking!

  • You could buy Masterballs in the shop. Obviously, it would be ungodly expensive.

What do you think about my ideas? Post your ideas! If they're awesome, I'll add them to the list! ^__^

  • This game would have just one version. And every single pokemon would be available to catch. No Nintendo events necessary.
    I would like this.

  • No HM's! The game would be open ended with scalable enemies. (I hate how linear the game is.)
You start off at Pallet Town and you could travel to Johto to battle Clair straight away. Her pokemon would scale down relative to your level.

That would be neat. But instead, I'd prefer you start in whatever town you want.

  • TM's would work like Move Tutors. You can teach them more than once.
Technically you can teach them more than once if you have more of the same one. I like the TM system. I wouldn't make them re-usable.

  • Every trainer you encounter in-game would have 6 pokemon.
Pokemon the game itself isn't very challenging when it comes to in-game battles.

Meh.. I don't really mind if a trainer has less pokemon. I think it'd be cooler if the other trainer has three, You are only permitted to use three.Etc.

  • Smarter enemy trainer AI.
Yes. Though I like Honest Abe's idea. A difficulty setting for advanced players and beginners.

  • You get to pick 6 pokemon from the very beginning instead of one. The selection would include every first stage evolution from Abra to Zubat. No legendaries or ubers. (Why are we limited to one? Certainly Prof. Oak has more than one pokemon...
No.. part of the fun is catching your pokemon. I like starting off with one. Though I like the idea of being able to choose which pokemon you start off with.

  • Every pokemon would start off with four moves.
No. I never had a problem with a Pokemon with one move. They're like level 4. They're not gonna automatically have all these attacks.

  • A pokemon hatched from an egg (bred) would gain +1 in all IV's. (This way, you could get 31 in all IV's without hacking. It would just have to take frickin' forever.)
You can't get 31 in all IV's. Like one or two stats I believe.. I prefer it to be random.

  • The Everstone would pass on the nature of the mother 100% of the time.
    This would be SO nice.

  • Genderless pokemon asexually reproduce in the Day Care.
Ditto. There's no need for that really..

  • A pokemon hatched from an egg (bred) would gain boosted experience (level up like a traded pokemon).
    That'd be neat.

  • IV's and EV's would be displayed in the summary.
I think I'd prefer a certain person who tells you the EXACT IV's a pokemon has. Technically the EV's and IV's are in the summary..

  • You could change their natures. Like a Day Care that changes the current nature to a desired one, but only after many steps and a hefty price-tag.
Nah. It's kinda hard to change someone's personality.. It wouldn't make much sense..

  • You could change their EV's. This would be similar to the Day Care system. Many steps and a ton of money to do, but it's possible with effort.
It would be nice if they had those berries again.

  • The GTS lets you search for pokemon you haven't seen before. Shocking!
    That's a good idea xD

  • You could buy Masterballs in the shop. Obviously, it would be ungodly expensive.

Yeah. It could be like a black market type deal.

I wish there was a place where you could enter and battle random people.. kind of an MMO RPG deal.

And I wish the chat option didn't choose your words for you. I could write out my own words.

Customizable sprites. At least some clothing choices.

maybe only be permitted to use 3 pkmn in gym battles like it states in the TV shows, trainer can switch and leader cannot.

  • A pokemon hatched from an egg (bred) would gain +1 in all IV's. (This way, you could get 31 in all IV's without hacking. It would just have to take frickin' forever.)
  • Come with me children and follow my way
Into the world of darkness and magic
With all my power, I'll show you the way
To all your dreams, hopes, and illusions.

The problem with this is that IVs are always random. Even if they gained +1 in all IVs, chain breeding wouldn't allow you to eventually get a Pokemon with 31 IVs down the board.

Now, from my experience, I haven't had a Pokemon I bred get more two stats with 31 IVs, but that doesn't mean that it's limited to that.

LF gave me a Gengar, that he says he caught in the wild, with 31 IVs down the board. So, I believe it is possible.
