Chu had once again wondered away from his family to look for company of the female kind, he did not travel to the barren mountain waste land often. However he knew every time he did so far he had found someone interesting to spend some time with. His hooves clicked against the hard rock ground one after the other. He was on high alert. He was not stupid. He knew what he was doing was dangerous and he was not planning to get killed today. He would have never thought that his fathers training would be used in this way.
He flicked his troublesome mane out of his eyes and looked to the setting sun, the sky was a deep blood red. It had always amazed him how many beautiful colours could be in the sky at the same time, from the brightest yellow to the deepest purple.
He came into a large area, surrounded by a few dead trees, the floor was dry and cracked. This seemed about right, he closed his eyes and took in a deep breathe. He knew there was at least one here, probably watching him. He braced himself, wondering what was going to happen next.
Blood dripped from his mouth, a dead rabbit hanging in it. He always brought offerings when he came to this place. A gift was usually the best way to stop a mare from attacking, seeing a regular with a dead rabbit in his mouth was enough to confuse them enough into asking questions.
He actually did not mind the taste of blood.

It was rare that Metawa ever traveled into the mountains--in fact, she had never been here before. But something had driven her...her teacher to travel here, and Metawa had been following Megapi since she was old enough to convince him to leave her alone.
In fact, she was alone now--he had asked to go hunting alone. Metawa agreed--he was making her nervous with the way he was acting here in the wastelands. She wanted to get away, get away fast, and impose her nervousness on some other sap. Best to find something else to do before she found herself the wolf's next meal.
There was no life up here, or practically none. A few dead trees, tufts of dead grass here and there. The whole place smelled of decay and--blood? Rabbit blood? Sure, there were a few holes here and there, but...Where did the rabbit come from? And, more importantly, why was it bleeding? Another sniff provided the scent of a stallion. A stranger. Let's see who's out here, shall we? she said to herself.
Weaving in and out of the trees towards the source of the scent, it wasn't hard to see who the stallion was. It's hard to hide when you're black with bright markings (as Metawa herself knew all too well). She watched him and stretched out her wings. A normal stallion hunting, and being sloppy about it? He was probably some brand of insane--it would be wise to be cautious. "You going to finish that?" she asked casually.

It looked like today was going to be Chu's lucky night. Any well trained Kalona was going to pick up on the rabbit blood, he knew this yet he was still impressed with the speed the mare had found him. A smirk would have appeared on his face if the rabbit was not so tight in his mouth. He examined the mare from a safe distance for a while. She was pretty indeed and judging on appearance she was very much kalona.
He moved forwards her slowly, lowering his head at her feet. As both as a bow and to leave the lifeless corpse of the rabbit in front of her. He flicked his mane he lent back up to look at her, he was close, however far enough away to run if she turned very violent, he did not mind a n** but there was a difference between that and a deadly strike.
"Unfortunately my stomach can not handle meat, I brought it here as a offering. Do you want it? consider it a small gift from a lesser species."
He stated raising a eyebrow and snorting slightly, his lavender eyes looked into hers, they seemed to be almost glowing. Her coat seemed to be the perfect combination of lava and ice. Simply beautiful.
"Excuse me, my name is Chu'mana Pauwau, Rainbow Wicth in Kawani, its a pleasure to meet such a admirable mare."

Metawa watched with interest--and a little nervousness--as she watched the stallion lay the rabbit down at her hooves. She hadn't had anything much to eat for a while, and the scent of the blood and the sight of the fresh flesh was making her mouth water. But as tempting as the ready meal was, the stallion was more...interesting. It wasn't just his colors, which looked like the after-images you saw on the inside of your eyelids when you closed them against bright light; it was his actions. They were the truly intriguing thing.
"Mm, it does smell good," she replied with an arch smile. She stepped forward to put the prey between her front hooves, just in case he really was crazy and tried to take it back. "Though you've made me curious--if you can't digest the meat, why hunt it? Oh, don't get me wrong," she added, "I am grateful...Chu'mana Pauwau. And interested," she muttered under her breath.
She tossed what little mane she had and twitched her tail back and forth, her silver eyes looking the stallion up and down. If he had kalona in his ancestry, she had no way of telling, but a stallion that acted like this might well have an...interesting past. If Metawa had a weakness--or weaknesses--then it was a certain curiosity. Kill first, ask questions later was not her style. "By the way," she continued, "my name is Metawa. I don't know if it actually has a meaning besides a bunch of syllables. And it's nice to meet a stallion who isn't completely...wet."

"Well, if you could not eat meant my dear would you not still hunt? I mean the meat is substance however it is not the fun part. As foals me and my sister used to hunt and since neither of us could eat them we kept our kills as trophies."
He stated with a firm nod. Chu'mana found out at a young age that a offering of meat could save your life. He liked to hunt, for no reason other than the challenge of going so. He smirked and get a little closer to the mare, staring her in the eyes, he was by no means going after her meal, it was a gift after all.
"Metawa, a lovely name suitable for such a lovely face, it is a pleasure to meet you."
He smiled, bowing his head to her like some would do a queen. Raising his head once more. The sun coloured a lovely shade of red. It was setting, the rock on the ground seemed to radiate warmth. Shadows laid long and sinister.
"Hunting is a challenge for me. I have no weapons so to speak besides brute force. I find myself... intrigued by you. Everything about your body is shaped to be deadly. From your strong wings to your long and elegant tail. I must say I would love to get to know it better, through observation of cause..."
He stated in almost a flirty voice, before backing off a little bit, to see if she would follow and even more so to give himself a head start in case his comment hit some nerve.

"When you put it that way...yes, I would still hunt. Watching something pathetically breathe its last as it squirms and it dyes the earth red with blood...There's satisfaction to that," Metawa conceded thoughtfully. She gave another lash of her tail, watching Chu'mana closely for any moves he made. He didn't seem to be about to attack her--he was backing away, after all, careful to keep out of her range of her neck--but it would be wise to keep on the lookout for...inappropriate behavior. Whatever he said, he had lured her here for a purpose, and she meant to find out.
With a winning smile, the mare lowered her head and began to eat the rabbit. It had been a good choice of his to catch--surprisingly plump, and a pleasure to the tastebuds. I'm surprised other Soquili don't try rabbits. Far tastier than grass and other such disgusting rubbish. When she looked up, he had moved a little closer, gazing into her eyes. She felt spooked for a brief instant. Fool! she berated herself. As he just said, he has no weapons! You could fly away if he was a threat, anyway! Mentally shaking herself out, she took another step towards him.
"We kalonas are indeed lucky," she replied. "Though I find it a bit more impressive that a stallion without weapons could hunt down prey. Any fool with wings and sharp teeth can bring down prey. But try it with bare shoulders and blunt teeth?" She stretched a wing. "What sort of prey do you hunt? That's another thing I'd like to know about you. Maybe we can...learn from each other. Through observation...of course."
Some part of the back of her mind heard a flirty tone in both their voices, but she shrugged it off. What was wrong with a bit of flirtation? He wasn't bad looking, and a normal stallion turned evil must be a far more...fascinating brand of evil than some idiot who was evil by default.

"Any challenge that I am brought, when me and my sister did decide to play our game we used to push our luck further and further. Its no fun staying on the same level of difficulty. As a foal I used to hunt rabbits, as a adult I have hunted things like stags and larger forest animals. My biggest kill today has been that of a mountain lion, however that was more in self defence than a planned hunt. It not bad, for my kind but I do lust for bigger prey. I find myself at a loss, limited by my natural form, I would love to find a partner to help me improve my trophy case. Maybe we could get to know each other better that way, if you are that interested."
He suggested raising his brow to the mare, he obviously did not want to tell her he was attracted to her. So this reason might keep her attracted for them time being whilst he tried to warm up to her a little more. She must be wondering why he was here in the first place. He flicked his mane, getting a little closer to the mare, he was not letting is guard down yet however she seems to be reacting positive to his words and actions. A look of pride hit his face as she spoke.
"I have other ways to attack. I have been blessed with the strong body and muscle tone of my father, he and my mother are both worriers and even though they do not hunt as a foal they thought me and my siblings how to fight. Even now I train for several hours a day, to become faster and stronger. The best I can be. I strive for perfection and looking for this I discovered the majesty which was the kalona breed. So strong and untamed, powerful, the perfect hunters."
He stated, he had admired the kalona since the day that he met his trainer Tuli, she was a kalona and trained him at night, whilst his parents trained him in the day. It was the drive to improve which turned Chu into what he is today. He did not see good and evil, he just saw practicality and beauty. Beauty which was in this mare, most would see a monster. He saw beneath that and saw the amazing qualities she was blessed with. Evil is jut a point of view anyways. He smirked and looked at her. Lavender eyes observing her every movement. She seemed to be flirting back.
"Metawa, I love the way you talk so passionately about the hunt, its something I have found rare in another beside myself, I guess we share some common ground after all. So besides the hunt, what else do you take pleasure in. Maybe we can find some other... similarities."

While he spoke, Metawa ducked her head down again and finished off the last of the rabbit. Flicking her ears, she absorbed his words. A fighter, eh? Or at least a hunter, and his ability to bring down a stag was impressive; the mountain lion, even more so. Her fath--her teacher never mentioned it, but the scars on his eyes looked suspiciously like the marks a mountain lion would leave behind. The old fool probably attacked that mountain lion and he came away scratched! But Chu'mana... She looked up and gave him an appraising look, trying nonchalantly to walk around him to take a look at him. There didn't seem to be big enough scratches on him to give him any very obvious permanent scars. He was a tough fighter, then! Provided he was telling the truth...
Her fascination with him was starting to deepen despite her doubts. Hunters hunted to survive, and so Metawa wasn't as interested in them. But Chu'mana...he was a killer. Metawa liked the mind of a killer--it made her feel comfortable. It made her feel like she could be free to satisfy her own wants and needs without someone needlessly spouting about that poor deer you just killed, what had it ever done to you? Those sorts--like her mother's worthless family--called her sort murderers, evil. There's no such thing as "evil." If there was no evil, there would be no "good." It's all such a false dichotomy. "I think I might be interested..." she said slowly. "I've been on the lookout for someone new to hunt with."
Metawa flicked her ears at his praise of her breed. Other kalonas made such a rash about having wings and horns. True, they were useful, but Metawa hadn't been raised to be proud of her breed--she had been raised to be proud of the way she thought. Her mentor was more skinwalker than true kalona, and that was the way he had taught her to act. Others say we're so superior. But if we're so special, than how is it that normal stallions like Chu'mana can be just as good as us? Even better, because they're supposed to be raised to be good and pure and some of them still struggle and arise from the mire of woolly thinking?
"As for what I take pleasure in...I take pleasure not only in hunting," she murmured, coming back around the other side of him, "but also in the kill. It's the challenge, it's the fight, it's the constant flitting of your thoughts as they play with each other, never really acknowledging any words, just letting the thoughts guide you in combat with another creature." She tossed her head and smiled. "You understand that, right?" Please say you do. You must, mustn't you? Or am I overestimating you? "Of course, that's not all I like..." Artfully, she stretched out a wing and let it touch Chu'mana's shoulders. "But I haven't had much time for other things." She gave a sigh.
This was it. This was the test. He could have been lying about the hunting of the deer, he could have been lying about the mountain lion, but there was one way to see if he was evil enough for her purposes--if she could just find that mangy fleabag... Come on, Chu'mana, take the bait, do us all proud. Try attacking a skinwalker when you don't know what he is.

Chu listened to her speak and he smiled slightly nodding his head. "Indeed I do understand. I could not have said it better myself." He stated in a soft voice flicking his mane once more. He was pleased to hear she was looking for someone to hunt with, it was the perfect chance to try and get closer to the mare, time for him to get to know about her a little better and in general have more time to work with her emotions, if she had any. It was still a question he was not sure of, he had gotten many different answers from many different mares. Maybe not all of them where the same. Some would not even talk to Chu, they looked down at him for his breed and heritage. It was something he understood, however the prejudice still annoyed him. All he knew is he liked this mare, he was going to keep a eye on this one. She was pretty and she had the attractive personality to back it up.
Chu tilted his head and he smiled once more as she touched his shoulder. "I see. Well all I can say is we only have one life and as hunters we know how fragile that is, I do not live with regrets in mine. Even though some people reject me for my choice in life its how I want to be. Sometimes we have to make time, so that before we die we experience all that it has to offer. The good and the bad. The pleasurable and the unbearable. So if your heart desires to take part in other pleasures... then I would make it happen." He gave a firm nod, the way she sighed made him think that she was not pleased, that a thought was upsetting her.
He turned to look in her eyes once more, he knew about how little time creatures had more than most and he had a feeling she did too. He stood a little closer to the mare, giving her a soft look. His eyes had that effect. One that he got from his father. He was a tough cookie, however he still wanted to charm the ladies. "I think you could do anything you wanted to."

"I do not believe I could ever come to regret any of my actions. If you do something you're ashamed of, you must find a way to twist it to your advantage. If you are silly and let something live you should have killed, take it as an opportunity to let your enemies underestimate you. If you do something you should not have done, see it as a chance to learn." She flashed Chu a smile. "I could not have said what you said better than yourself," she murmured. "I would love to stick around with you. I have never met a stallion like you." Well, I have, but my mentor doesn't count. Besides, I think this one might be manipulate-able.
She had had an idea in the back of her mind ever since she was a foal and first picked a fight with Megapi. "Nice" stallions bored her and made her irritated; they were preachy and insistent. And it had always lurked in her mind, the possibility that a stallion might be devious enough to pretend to be evil and force her to be "good." Well, there was one way around it, she had decided. The trick would be to convince Chu'mana to do it. And she had a couple ideas. With his personality, she might not even have to resort to the whole "innocent damsel" routine. Cut straight to the chase. She looked up into his strangely soft eyes, returning his pale gold gaze with an icy one that seemed to burn with an inner fire whatever her emotions were.
"I could probably do everything I want to..." she said slowly. "But I'd like some help to do what I want to do. How about we go hunting?" she said brightly. Her tail started to twitch back and forth. Inside, she was trembling both in anticipation and in secret glee. "I'd love to see you hunt, Chu. Can I call you that? I'll bet you're a great hunter." Okay, okay, I'm laying that on a bit thick. He should have been worried with that tone; she never took that tone unless she was meaning to watch someone be in pain. "I hear there's a lone wolf wandering around out here. Want to test yourself out? Have a go at a wolf?"
