 It had been far too long since Nyota had been able to escape the prides boundaries and go off in search of some fun and her friend. Previously she had taken as many opportunities as possible to sneak out, though sneaking was a relative term, to go meet up with Tamu. It had become easier after a while as her mother seemed to have given up on ever getting Nyota to settle downa nd become a good noble. Instead Maua concentrated her efforts on Pur, who seemed more than happy to bend to Maua's will. Giving her head a shake as she raced out past border towards the rogue lands, that kinda of life was not for her.
Once she was a good distance away Nyota slowed her paws, heading towards that fallen over tree where she had first met Tamu some months ago. She often came out here, but recently found herself with less and less time to come. It made her wonder if Tamu still came to look for her, as it had been some time since their last visit. She had grown since then, not longer a lanky juvenile, she know had the streamlined body of an adolescent. When she finally spotted the tree her eyes searched for any hint of the brown and blue of her dear friend, but she didn't see anything. Letting out a sigh she leapt up upon the tree and laid down, perhaps he would come by later, she would just need to wait and see, and hope that he did.

 Tamu' life had not changed all that much despite his growth but then that was the way of a rogue now wasn't it? No pride to hold you down or tie up your time - just a good carefree existence wandering about doing what you wanted too when you wanted to do it.
It seemed too good to be true and in a way it was Tamu was often lonely though he had made a few friends in his travels. His mother was still around but had other things on her mind then amusing her fully grown children. He ought to be thankful he knew that they had stayed somewhere long enough to make lasting friends - friends like Nyota with whom he had whittled away many hours of his youth.
But Nyota had been busy lately and had little time to simply sit and chat as they had once done. It wasn't her fault her knew - it was probably her mothers, Tamu had heard much about the mysterious and strict Maua from Nyota and did not look forward to ever meeting her. Hopefully he never would. But he did miss his friend and it had been ever so long since he had spoken to her last, his mane had grown in thick and full in that time and hi body had muscled and filled out until he was a fairly impressive lion size wise. It had been far to long.
Caught up in these thoughts Tamu didn't really notice that he'd been heading towards the fallen log they had played at so often as cubs and teens until it actually came into sight and there! wonder of wonders! A purple coated beast was lazing about on top of it! Tamu knew that hide and broke into a smile as he trotted forward. "Nyota!"

That voice! She would recognize it anywhere, and her head immediately shot up to see a somewhat familiar lion coming her way. Oh my he had grown quite a lot since she had last say him, in fact she was quite taken aback by his handsome full grown body. Leaping off of the log she padding forward, smile stretching her maw and when she was close to him, playfully jumped towards him. "Tamu!" Oh she had missed spending time with him dearly. "I had hoped to see you today." And it was the truth, why else would she have come out here to the place they had spent so much time together.
"It's been so long. Look at you! All grown up." She pulled back away from him for a moment to get another good look at him. Just imagine the look on her mothers face if Maua saw them now. Oh it would be priceless.

Though he had never thought it could possibly be anyone else Tamu felt his heart beat louder with excitement when her head popped up and she looked at him, of course it wasn't until she had leapt off the log and come to greet him that Tamu realized just how much she had grown! She certainly wasn't that gawky and awkward juvenile he had come to know so well.
No he could see in her now some hint of the lioness she would soon become. She was filling out in graceful lines and would certainly be a beauty in her pride. "I was thinking of you too!" He told her - funny how they had both been thinking of each other at the same day, but it had worked out well now hadn't it? "And I'm not the only one" He told her with a laugh as he dodged her playful jump "I bet you have all your siblings jealous now"

Letting out a playful growl as he dodged her jump she landed beside him and gave him a wry smile. "They might be a little jealous of me." She said with a wink, even if they never admitted it Nyota knew her sisters wished they had as much purple on their pelts as she did. "I've come out here a few times, but you weren't here. I thought maybe your family moved on to someplace else." Nyota would have been horribly disappointed if that had been the case as Tamu was by far her closest friend. Though her smile had faded for a moment when she said that, it now brightened once more. "So what have you been up to?"

Tamu had no doubt that they were indeed jealous of her and cast an appreciative glance over her before catching himself - Hyena dung but what was he thinking? She was his friend he ought not to be thinking such thoughts about her - sure he was a young lion and such thoughts were rarely far from his mind but still it was a bit rude to think of Nyota like that. Not that she didn't deserve it cause she did I mean..she was pretty...ah hell now he'd gone and thought himself into a circle!
Shaking his head slightly to rid such thoughts from his mind he tried to focus on what she'd been saying. "I guess we must have just missed one another, I've been by a few times myself" He admitted...well more then a few truthfully but he didn't want her to feel bad about not being able to make time for him. Surely her pride was keeping her fairly busy now. "Well...even if mom and Wingu did decide to move on now..I don't actually have to go anymore" He reminded her teasingly. He was an adult now as she'd pointed out earlier. "But I haven't been doing much, just wandering - getting to know the territory and such, how about you? I'm sure your pride is keeping you busy"

Nyota had to admit she was more than relieved to hear that Tamu wouldn't follow his family if they did decide to move on. "And how is your family anyways? Your brother still looking to the clouds?" She laughed slightly remembering how many stories Tamu had told her about his cloud loving brother, and how he would get himself into trouble for not paying attention to where he was going.
She hadn't missed the stares, the way he looked at her. She had seen them before, with a few of the males in the pride, but none of them meant anything to her, but having Tamu look at her like that maybe her stomach do a flip. A good flip. "Yes, they have kept me busy. Lessons..." An involuntary shudder ran through her, Nyota hated all those lessons. "on how to be a proper lady, a well respected and well verse noble. But they are so boring!" Flopping onto her side to accentuate her point, she looked up at Tamu and pawed at his fluffy mane.

"I don't think he'll ever stop" He told her with a laugh as she brought up his brother "It was bad before but just imagine a full grown lion walking into a tree ..or a watering hole...or a rock..because he saw an interesting shape in the sky" He rolled his eyes slightly in mock irritation. Truly though he wished he was over exaggerating but sadly he really wasn't.
He could sympathize with her boredom, while he had never taken any such lessons before Tamu really couldn't imagine anything more dull then the topics she was describing, but maybe it wasn't quite so dull if you belonged to the pride. Nyota was a bit..well allot..of a rebel and Tamu was sure things seemed worse to her then they really were. He glanced down at her when she batted as his mane and smiled - he didn't think proper ladies were supposed to play with lion manes..but he wasn't going to complain or point that out. "Sounds awful, I'm surprised you don't just skip them all, don't tell me your loosing your rebel touch" He teased her lightly.

"I'm sure it would be quite a sight to see him do just that." And Nyota could only imagine how hilarious it would be to see Wingu do just that. Perhaps next time Tamu would bring his brother with him and she could see for herself firsthand how overly distracted the adult lion could be. Pausing in her playing with his mane, her paw firmly pressed against it she looked at him with a wide smile. "Oh I skip as many as possible. But mother still had the guards on the look out for me, so sometimes I am forced to endure them."
Now was one of those times where she had gotten past the guards, either they didn't think she would try to skip lessons today or she was still able to outsmart them. What really mattered was that she was free, and most importantly getting to spend some time with her best friend. "We should do something." She suggested in an excited voice, though honestly she wasn't sure what.

Well the good thing about being grown Tamu figured was that they could wander a good bit farther then they had been able to as cubs and while the fallen log was a well loved childhood haunt he had run across a few other places in his travels that were interesting and which Nyota would like.
"Well" He considered for a few moments,filing through all the possible places to take her in his mind "I know of a pond with a waterfall... ummm a neat cave filled with all sorts of shiny rocks?" He suggested after a few moment - because those really seemed like the most interesting to him. "Or we could just hunt..or walk" He suggested in case she was looking for something else.

Nyota got to her paws again and gave her fur a shake. The waterfalls sounded like an interesting place to visit, but so did a cave filled with shiny rocks. A hunt sounded boring and a walk...well they could walk to wherever they were headed so that was a sill suggestion. "Let's go to the waterfall." She chirped happily, tail swaying back and forth behind her. "And it's still early enough in the day that maybe we can go to the cave as well." Nyota suggested but would be happy to see just the waterfall if time became an issue. Not like she was in any kind of hurry to get back to her lessons, or to hear another long winded speech from her mother about wandering off.

Tamu glanced at the sky as though to determine the position of the sun before nodding in agreement. "We might be able to make it to them both - as long as we don't linger to long at one or the other" He mused, though he personally thought Nyota would end up having so much fun at the waterfall that the cave would have to wait for another day.
He wasn't going to complain however because that would just give her another reason to come looking for him again sometime soon. "Its not to far off" He told her before bounding away and calling over his shoulder in a teasing fashion "We can get there in good time...if you can keep up" A hint of challenge in his voice as she he tarted off again knowing that Nyota would never be able to refuse such thing.

"Nobles don't linger." She teased him a bit, not like she was the picture of a good noble anyways. But any excuse to poke fun at her rank was welcome. As Tamu took off she let out a slight huff. Yeah like she wouldn't be able to keep up. So she took off after him, quite easily catching up to him. He may be a full grown adult but that meant he had more bulk to move than she did. Throwing a quick bump to his shoulder as she ran past him Nyota let out a laugh and then put on a bit more speed. "Come on slow poke!"

Tamu had fully expected her to catch up and pass him, he was quick sure but the slimmer lioness always seemed just that much quicker and Nyota was no exception to that rule. Laughing at her bump he nipped at her tail as she dashed past him.
As promised it wasn't to long of a trip and calling out small direction chances to Nyota he was sure that at any moment thy would start to hear the rushing water. It wasn't a large waterfall , you had to go into the mountains for that sort of thing he had heart but it was big enough that it was hard to miss and surrounded by misted sunning rocks and pretty wildflowers.
Of course beauty wasn't the only thing it had to offer, it was shallow enough to make swimming pleasant if one was adventurous enough to try it. Tamu didn't mind the water though some lions did. he remained silent as they came upon the scene and awaited Nyota's reaction.

Adjusting her course as bit as Tamu indicated to do so Nyota's pace slowed a bit as the sound of of waterfall first reached her ears. Padding along beside her friend she took in the beauty of this place, glad that she had once again decided to skip her lessons and seek out the company of Tamu. As they came close to the edge of the pond Nyota got a sneaky look on her face and then put on a burst of speed at the last second, leaping into the pond, sending a decent sized splash towards Tamu.
Popping her hear back up above the surface the purple lioness let out a laugh. She could spend all day here, but the thought of going to that cave was still on her mind. They would have to stay here a bit, it was so beautiful and peaceful that it demanded her presence for a good while longer.
