Personality: Eirik is a bit of an odd boy. He's nocturnal, which has caused a few problems with his guardian and the two are adjusting to this. Eirik is also very jealous and guarded, especially about things that are his. You don't touch his stuff. That's HIS. He tends to glare at anyone who might attempt to touch something that he's decided is his and flatly declare it to be so. Another attempt and that's a challenge to his ownership! That means a fight!
While Eirik might be easily provoked into a fight over his stuff, he's normally much more calm. He doesn't hold grudges and is rather forgiving for the most part. As long as it isn't related to his stuff. He's a loyal friend (as long as they respect the boundries of 'MINE!').

Occupation: Fisherman
Appearance: Kaden is of average height (5' 10"). His upper body is fairly buff, from his work as a fisherman, rowing and hauling in nets. Short brown hair cropped close to the scalp sprouts from the top of his head. He's rather tanned and usually shirtless while working or at home. When out and about Korr, he tends to put on a tank top. His clothes aren't the best fitting as he sees no real need to buy fancy clothes just to get fish guts and salt water on them. His torn shorts are usually held up by a length of rope. Kaden tends to smell like fish most of the time. It's what he does... He's used to the smell and doesn't notice it.
Personality: Kaden is a fairly simple man. He has his boat, his little hut, and his nets. What more could he want or need? He never lacks in food for the sea is right there and it has plenty of fish for everyone. Kaden is not one to think ahead and plan for the future. He's a fisherman because his father was a fisherman. His brothers became fishermen. He never thought of being anything else. Life is not always easy, Kaden knows this. Sometimes storms prevent you from going out and sometimes the fish are scarce. But this is life and this is the life he has always known.
Likes: Fishing, the sea, his boat, fish
Dislikes: Stormy weather, rope burn
History: Kaden has always lived the simple life. He was born to a fisherman and his wife, the second of three boys. As soon as he was old enough, he was put to work helping repair nets and gut and scale fish. Red meat was a rare luxury to him growing up, but they always had plenty of fish. Salted, fresh, pickled, you name it, he's had it that way. Yes, even raw.
Once Kaden became a teenager, he started helping his father out on the boat. The work was tough, but it was better than going to school! While Kaden had never been, he'd heard about it from some of the other boys in town. It sounded very dull and boring. Fishing was better.
As Kaden grew older still, he started spending his free time working on his own boat. It was a simple boat, a hollowed out log with some carving to shape the bow and prow. But it was something that he was very proud of and, when it was finished and he sailed in it for the first time, it was the happiest moment of his life. Shortly after the boat was completed, he moved out of his parents' home and took up fishing on his own. He's lived alone ever since, enjoying his simple life.

Kaden and Eirik's home is a small place on the beach, just above the high tide level. Inside is one large room with a large fireplace. A table with two chairs and two small cots are the majority of the furniture. A small chest of drawers and a cupboard fill the rest of the area. A small bathroom sits in a corner. It might not be much, but it is home.

Common name: Australian Masked Owl
Scientific name: Tyto novaehollandiae
Description: The facial disk is white and has short brown feathers around dark brown or black eyes forming a heart shaped outline. They are blackish brown with grey and white spots on the upper body. The underparts are white with brown spots. The female is a darker color than the male. The average weight is 660gm with females larger than the male. The length is 35–47 cm. They are one of Australia's largest owls.
Habitat: The Australian Masked Owl inhabits shrubs, bush lands waterways with timber. In Australia they are seldom found more than 300 km inland. They roost and nest in large tree hollows near foraging areas. They are nocturnal and their prey includes rodents, reptiles, birds, insects and bandicoots. The population of the Australian Masked Owl on the mainland is declining and several states have this owl on the Species Conservation Status list. They are territorial and remain in the same area all their lives.
Breeding: They breed when conditions are favorable which can be any time of the year. The nest is usually built in hollow trees with soil, mulch or sand. Namely the extinct population of the treeless Nullarbor Plain used underground caves or rock crevices for nesting. The female lays two or three eggs and incubates them while the male hunts for food. The young are white or off white when they first develop feathers. They can leave the nest at two to three months of age but return to be fed by the parents for another month before going on their own.
