I was looking at a website where people talk about pokemon gijinka cosplays to get ideas to better my Evee and Shaymin cosplays when I saw someone mention that they were coming to Hawaii to cosplay at the Hawaii Entertainment Expo, otherwise known as HEX XP which I didn't know till now that it's being held at the Neal Exhibition Hall from November 13-14 2010. I don't know if I should go to Kawaii Kon, HEX XP or both because I don't know how my college schedule will fit in with the schedule of both conventions especially HEX XP which is only a few months away. By the way, has anyone else heard of this convention before? I haven't hear about it till today. Here is a link to the HEX XP site: http://www.hexxp.com/

Well, I haven't heard of it before today, but thank you SO much for sharing! I'm definitely going to try to go and attend this. My boyfriend and I want to cosplay Plusle and Minun gijinka for Kawaii Kon, but I doubt they'll be done in time for the expo.

From lurking around the website, it looks like the dates are a little screwed up on some pages because the website says it's going to be on Friday and Saturday in some places and Saturday and Sunday in others. That's the thing that's a bit confusing to me.

But the admission price is pretty good so I'm definitely going to check this out. Thanks again for the great find!

Your welcome, I'm actually gonna do a Chikorita and Shaymin gijinka for Kawaii-Kon and I'll use my Eevee gijinka for HEX XP. My boyfriend isn't a big pokemon fan though but I'm trying to convince him to do an Eevee gijinka with me for HEX XP. Good luck with your Plusle and Minun gijinka though, I actually saw two girls do a Plusle and Minun gijinka at Kawaii-Kon last year and their outfits were adorable I wish I had a picture to show you '>.<

By the way this is my first time dressing up for an anime convention and I felt the need to ask just to make sure if it's okay to do a gijinka of a pokemon from pokemon black and white because the game hasn't come out yet. I was thinking of doing a Musharna gijinka, if I have enough money in my budget. I'm trying to do simple pokemon since money is tight for me, especially since I don't have a job yet and my parents have to spend 4k to fix our roof because of leaks.

I had a lot of fun there! I went on Saturday and cosplayed with my friends. I also got some really cute buttons and hair clips. <3

Sadly I don't think I got a picture/saw you there. D: Did you go on Sunday perhaps?

That's... really strange. o_o I was there from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm. o_O And I was on the lookout for your cosplays too. >.>

I was with my boyfriend dressed as Minun, my gothic lolita friend (who was our trainer), and some guy dressed as Doctor Who that just liked hanging around us. XD

Sad I didn't get to meet you irl, since that would've been pretty cool. >.<

I was there from 2:00pm to 5:00pm I was mostly where they had all the computers and and video game consoles. I was playing Call of Duty and Marvel versus Capcom the most of the time except for when I went to into that room next to where all the video games were where there was some guy (sorry, I don't know his name but my boyfriend does) talking about a movie called Dragonfly.
