Infinite Regress

It has been 3 years since the battle with the Collectors. Unfortunately, Shepard was lost to the Reaper. He was given a hero's burial and his memory still lives on. Now, at the Citadel his crew thrives, brought together by some inexplicable need for the family they once were. Live goes on around them, and while some feel lost, others seem to be doing just fine. Where do you fall?

Rules:
1. No godmoding. Should be obvious.
2. Cursing is fine if it's in character.
3. Romance is fine, however cybering is NOT.
4. PM me your applications. If you post them here, you will be blacklisted.
5. Put a heart in your application to let me know you read this.
6. Bio's are mandatory! No blank pasts. Amnesia is a cliche excuse for laziness. Create your friggin' character.

Accepted Female Profiles:

Username: Priestess of Sekhmet
Name: Miranda Lawson
Sex: F
Age: 38
Cannon/OC: Cannon
Blood type: AB
Height: 5'-8"
Weight: 123 lbs
Personality: Miranda is a serious, loyal person. Despite her feelings that none of her achievements are her own, she tries her hardest to get everything just right. Her humor--though dry and sarcastic--is certainly existential.
Sexual Orientation: Straight
History: Miranda was born in 2150. As she explains to Shepard, Miranda never had a mother, only a father who is extremely influential, wealthy, and ego-maniacal. Using a modified copy of his own genome, Miranda was genetically engineered to be a specimen of human perfection. Everything, from her intelligence, physical constitution, biotic abilities, to her appearance were designed before birth to be excellent. She boasts about being able to shoot a mech's head off from 100 meters away or just as easily crush it with her biotic powers. Miranda also heals faster than other humans and will probably live half a lifespan longer. If Shepard accuses her of being cocky, she retorts that she's only stating the facts.

However, Miranda’s gifts were a burden growing up. Despite her accomplishments, Miranda’s perfectionist father never showed approval or pride towards his daughter. He always expected more and better from her — forever chiding her to be greater than she already was. He also imposed a very strict lifestyle on Miranda, and forbade her from making friends and having a social life. Miranda remarks that he didn't want a daughter as much as a dynasty, which was why he used his own genetic template to create her. The constant pressure and lack of affection led Miranda to relinquish her privileged lifestyle and run away from home as a soon as she could — although some gunfire was involved. Her father used his extensive network of contacts to chase her across the galaxy, but she managed to elude him nonetheless.

At some point Miranda approached Cerberus and joined them in exchange for protection. Miranda knew of them since her father sympathized with their human-centric agenda and was a major backer. When she enlisted with Cerberus, he stopped pursuing her but severed his ties to the group. Despite their past dealings with her father, Miranda agrees with Cerberus' desire to help humanity. Miranda also enjoys the opportunity to work with people as smart as she is and the amount of latitude their clandestine operations afford her; she is given an objective, all the resources she needs, and nothing more. Evidently, Miranda has advanced far enough to become one of the few in the organization, much less the galaxy, that meets and answers directly to the Illusive Man, who appreciates her abilities.

Username: NoLifeKing66
Name: Tali'Zorah vas Normandy nar Rayya
Sex: female
Age: 27
Canon/OC: canon
Blood type: B (RH-)
Height: 5'3" (162.6 cm.)
Weight: 104 lbs. (47.2 kg.)
Personality: Tali'Zorah is extremely intelligent, practical, introverted and somewhat nerdy. She's very serious and erudite in her rhetoric, especially when she's talking about mechatronics or the quarians themselves, but she's quite shy when conversation turns personal. She's very proud of her people. She's also very loyal, both to the Fleet and to Commander Shepard. She also seems to have a bit of a crush on the Commander.
Sexual Orientation: straight
History: Considered a mechanical genius even among the more advanced engineers of the quarians, Tali'Zorah was born in 2161 C.E. aboard the Rayya. Upon reaching maturity, she departed the Migrant Fleet on her Pilgrimage. On her travels she began hearing reports of geth, who had never ventured beyond the Perseus Veil since driving her people into exile. She became curious. She tracked a geth patrol to an uncharted planet, waited until one was separated from its unit, then disabled it and removed its memory core. She recovered a file from its audio banks revealing that Saren Arterius was behind the attack on Eden Prime. Pursued by Saren's forces, she escaped to the Citadel, where she met Commander Shepard. Since that fateful meeting, Tali has helped Shepard save the galaxy on two separate occassions: once from Saren and once from the elusive Collectors, both of whom were working as agents of the Reapers. Loyal to her last breath, Tali would have followed Shepard into Hell and back.

Accepted Male Profiles:

Username: Priestess of Sekhmet
Name: Mordin Solus
Sex: M
Age: 53, in Salarian years. Closer to 29 in Human years.
Cannon/OC: Cannon
Blood type: O-
Height: 6'-3"
Weight: 178 lbs
Personality: Mordin is a very analytical, scientific man. He prefers his lab to contact with others when given a choice, but is very friendly in his awkward way.
Sexual Orientation: Asexual
History: Mordin Solus is an expert geneticist, doctor, scientist and a former member of the salarian Special Tasks Group. His last mission in the STG before retiring involved the study of the krogan genophage.

Originally, Mordin's team was merely studying population growths to see if the genophage was still effective and designing possible pre-emptive strategies should the krogan regain their numbers. The study soon changed when the STG team discovered the krogan were naturally overcoming the genophage. The only option the team could agree upon was to design and implement a new genophage that, as Mordin maintains, would limit reproduction to a viable level for the krogan to survive; otherwise, a war could result that would likely end in the complete genocide of the krogan. Mordin would remember those days fondly, devoting his time to endless scientific research and discovery with people he respected and admired. But by the time the mission was complete, the team had gone their separate ways. Mordin himself, despite defending his decision as the only option, found the ethics of the project disturbing and even turned to religion to ease some of his pain. The differing, sometimes contradictory, nature of religion led him to have a crisis of faith and left his worries unresolved.

After this experience, Mordin devoted his time to building a clinic on Omega, finding it easier to just heal people. He found himself unnaturally suited to life there, as he pulled strings in the STG to have some military grade mechs defend his clinic. Generally, he found it simpler to deal with problems himself, easily killing any Blue Suns or vorcha attempting to intimidate him. His reputation soon grew and the Blue Suns learned to stay away from him. Even Aria T'Loak would grow to like him for his casual ruthlessness. He only returned to Tuchanka to do follow-up work, ensuring the genophage was effective. Though others could have done it for him, Mordin felt he should see the damage he inflicted, finding it cowardly to simply walk away.
