The next day, as closing time approached, Miela started to clean up the shop a little early. Nothing that would prevent any last-minute customers from enjoying some candy, just putting away dishes of samples, fixing displays where other faes had handled the boxes of chocolates, replacing things that had been bought - and collecting the chocolate, cream, and flavorings she would need to teach Ian how to make truffles. She smiled a bit, thinking of the wazzit. They might not have had much of a chance to talk yet, but hopefully that would be corrected tonight. And he was certainly a cutie.
Finally 5pm rolled around, and she locked up the back of the shop, waiting for him to arrive.

Being the loner that he was, Ian felt awkward as he approached the door of the shop. He'd never done the whole date thing before, so he was really hoping that it didn't end too disastrously. -Just don't screw this up for yourself, Ian. She's really cute and it's doubtful you'll have another chance like this one.- He took a deep breath, and with a flower in hand, he entered the shop.

((*snerks* Poor Ian. *musses his hair*))
The faefox was in the back, putting a few things away, when she heard the bell on the door jingle. The "Closed" sign was out, even though the door was unlocked, so she had a good guess who it was. She unloaded her armload of candy boxes onto a table and headed up to the front of the shop.
As she'd hoped, she saw the wazzit standing in the front of the shop, looking nervous and a bit awkward. She couldn't help a small smile - something about it made him look adorable. "Just a second, Ian, let me finish locking up," she called over to him, turning to close and lock the door to the back room, before walking around the counter and grabbing the bag she had prepared with everything they'd need to make truffles after dinner.

He smiled briefly as her back was to him, which was quite out of character. He couldn't help it though... her bright and open personality was not only something that he wasn't used to seeing in people, but it was something he didn't really think had existed before. It was a nice contrast to his quiet pessimism.
He approached her at the counter and offered her the Lily he had in his hand. He had picked it on the way there, thinking it'd look nice in her hair. "It's nice to see you again." He gingerly took the bag out of her hand and carried it himself. "My house isn't too far from here. Do you like Thai food at all? That's what I had prepared to make for you, but if you don't like that I can think of something else..."

Miela smiled brightly. "Thai is fine! And I can carry that, you don't need to..." She didn't fight too hard against him taking her bag, though. So instead, she pulled out her keys, and locked the door on their way out.
She looked around once they were outside. "So, which direction is your house? I haven't actually had much chance to look around town yet, I've been too busy setting up the shop and making all the candy to stock it. So if there's anything I should know about that we pass, please let me know." She slipped one paw through his arm, settling it in the crook of his elbow.

"I'll, uh, do what I can." To be honest, Ian didn't know the town very well at all. He rarely ever leaves the house, and only goes out to restaurants when he does. "It's this way; right past... errr... all that stuff over there." He was already fumbling and they had only just stepped out of the door, leading him to become that much more insecure and awkward around the beautiful faefox. He was so up in his own head, that he hadn't even noticed Miela's arm wrapped around his own until now. He looked at it for a second, then looked into her eyes for a moment almost in disbelief, and then back to their arms. It felt warm where she was touching. Not something he was used to but... it felt nice. He lead her towards his townhouse, trying to think of places to show to her.

She laughed. "Sounds like you don't get out much more than I do." She smiled and shook her head. "Don't worry about it, we'll just have to go out exploring together. Perhaps this weekend? I'm sure most of the shops will be open Saturday at least, we could see what sort of things they sell." When he looked up at her, she squeezed his arm. Just then her stomach rumbled, and she blushed. "How much further is it?"
