My dad is coaching a 3rd and 4th grade boys basketball team and he's asking me to be the assistant coach. Thats the main thing... This should be... interesting. I hope I can be of some help. Any of you done anything like this before?
Also theres this one guy that we're not sure if he speaks english or not O_O any advice on how to communicate with him? An interpreter is definately out. I think he may only speak Spanish. So far my dad has just been using a lot of pointing and hand gestures XD

Wow. ^^ I dunno honey, kids are okey in small doeses, but I don't know if I could handle em for that kind of time.
Maybe like...bribe them with candy?? rofl

Also the guy who won the auction, by when does he expect the art? Because I'm afraid finals might make me lose track of time and I don't want to go back on my word and get like banned from here gonk

Ummm...It would be prefered that it get done as soon as is possible...I haven't started mine yet...so no like huge hurry. But the sooner we all get done the sooner that we get the 100k for prizes.

I know, as soon as possible. But if I rush myself it will turn out worse than normal. I'll aim for doing it this weekend

Oooh, that is more than fine. ^^ I am aiming for helping all the artists hopefully get through this by next weekend.

OH!
Wicked.

I use to volunteer at the local elementary tutoring kids with behavorial issues and then eventually Bilingual children.
They were ze cutest and two brothers were fighting to marry mwuah. xD;;
Just be patient and really take into consideration his background.
Like someone mentioned before mwuah, use visual aids.
It helps a lot.. a lot.
And it would be fab of you to actually take him from the other boys for a small period of time and try to show him visually what your father just taught until he's comfortably got the hang of things.
Even if it didn't work, you'd still make him feel fluffly inside and gain his trust which is always important when you're dealing with children. x]

I wish I could be more help.
I've only volunteered at the elementary school for about a year and then various preschools after that.
But I love it to death.
I guess mwuah and children just click because I'm so similar to them. xD;;

whee Thanks for the advice Gi :0 My dad's getting pretty good at pointing and making swishy arm motions, but if it seems like that kid isn't understanding I'll be sure to do some of the stuff you guys mentioned I finished my auction art... Is it ok? sweatdrop The guy asked for a halfbody but I totally forgot when I saw this pose and I was almost done by the time I realised, oh snap, this isn't what he asled for at all >_<
