The dark vixen prowled through the forest, keeping to the shadows. The moon was her enemy tonight, casting a pale, white light below. She wished to remain hidden, unseen. There were other foxes roaming about, though oblivious to her presence. She had heard the whispers of a tribe being started around these parts, a tribe whose name she could not care less for. She had been evicted from her previous territory due to a tribe being started there, and here she had no intentions of staying here either. She was merely passing though, and she would prefer that she remain undetected so she could go peacefully.

She was a patient fox, patient enough to meander her way through the trees and shadows only, avoiding the light. The path she chose was much longer than the direct route to her destination: the lake a few hundred yards ahead. After all, she was still living; she needed water.

She reached it eventually, though she was hesitant to leave the shadows and enter the light. She took a tentative step out of the shadows, examining the light on her gray paw. It was a bit more noticeable than she would have liked. She gazed up at the moon, eyes narrowing, flickering with bitter contempt. She whipped her tail, giving in. If someone came along, she would handle them. She was capable.

User ImageHe rarely left the camp grounds anymore, his life being spent watching over the tribe he was so devoted towards. He did not take his eyes off it much, the tribe could self destruct without the right guidance at this point. Every member was there for a reason, be it for a heinous act or something rather trivial, or even by choice. Even so, they had not bonded yet. Without the proper attitude towards one another, they could rip out one another's throats. It was the to-be-elder's job to make sure they became an inseparable family, and that person was Sin.

However this didn't mean he couldn't leave the tribe for a few seconds to explore his forest more. Ah. His forest, those words pleased him. For someone that had never had a welcoming home or family this was a major change. He liked having this place as his own, a gift from the Shade Beast himself. He was known for being twisted in the head, even mad, but the male could not deny the slight pleasure he felt from creating a home for foxes like him. In due time they would bond, and he would be among the killers and disturbed of the world.

The fox had left the camp grounds to find a doe or two for the tribe, his ability to manipulate minds stronger than his fellow members merely because he had more time to develop it. He knew Odi would be better than him, eventually. And Aka had a long time to age, which meant she would naturally come to this ability. Sin was a fighter, but the ability to bend minds was also something he liked to rely on. Thank the Shade Beast, again. So, he was using this ability to claim kill for the tribe. The storage was growing dry, and everyone was asleep at this point.

His eyes locked upon a shadowy figure once he approached the lake, stopping in his tracks. He could hardly smell, which would have made him realize the figure was there far long ago if he had been able to smell. His sharp hearing usually made up for this, but obviously if this...thing was here than it had not assisted him this time. Anger flashed through him, lips pulling back into a snarl. Who was stupid enough to travel on these lands?!

((Sorry, I got off track in the post. Heh.))

She stopped drinking, gray eyes flicking over to the side, resting on the shape of another fox not too far away. She had caught his scent long ago, though she did not believe he would approach her. Few did. Her bone mask tended to throw people off, to say the least. This certain fox bore a curious aura about him, a darker one. Not dark as in mysterious, dark as in evil. She had met few others with such an aura, although she was not interested enough to delve deeper. She did not care for others, but she was smart enough to figure out that this male, whoever he was, was not going to let her leave. Not peacefully as she had hoped.

She straightened up, turning towards him. She responded to his snarl with a low growl, gray eyes narrowing behind her bone mask. "What do you want?" she hissed, taking a few steps toward him.

Sin snarled once more, ears twitching as he approached closer to her. He was not afraid of her, even if she had a bone mask. He was not pleased by her trespassing, and he could tell she was not here to join. If she had she would have approached him, or she would not be hissing at him. He tensed, bristling. She was not welcomed here, and he did not care for her presence much. He was not going to let her near the tribe, and he was not going to let her leave. Whatever business she had here he did not care. This was a perfect chance to prove who really owned these lands.

"The question is not what do I want, but what do you want? You are trespassing, cretin." He growled back, hostility flashing through his body. She looked interesting, similar to him. Yet he was not one to simply let people by. No, he was a cold blooded killer that only cared for his tribe. No exceptions.

She flexed her claws as he approached, lashing her tail, hackles bristling. "I was simply passing through, doing you no harm. Now leave me, wretch. Go back to your friends," she snarled in response, ears flicking. He was not going to let her go, this much she knew. He was not like others he had met. He was not weak, though she would not say that he was strong, either. She was not going to give him that compliment so easily, certainly not without seeing what he was capable of. However she knew what she was capable of, and she would show him that if necessary, which she believed that would be the case in this encounter. Her muscles tensed, preparing herself for any stunt he decided to pull.

"Leave me alone," she growled.

Sin snarled, approaching her quickly. His mind manipulation powers would be useful, but no. He rarely relied on that ability. He was a fighter, not a magician. His blood splattered coat was evidence of such, a magician would not be that close to their enemies to become as stained as he was. He stopped at nose length from her, snarling in his throat. "No. This is my home. If anything, you should leave us alone." His lips curved into a cheshire cat smile, a dark glee behind those black eyes. He was just asking for a fight.

He suddenly lifted his paw, reaching to push her mask aside. He liked to look at his prey when he was speaking to them.

|| All right, so I'm starting the fight. I looked over the way you determine hits and misses in Cruor, so I think it's two even numbers hit, two odd numbers miss, and the other RPer determines if an attack hits or misses if an even and odd number are rolled.||

Nex let out a warning growl at his advance, though she did not step back. Her eyes remained fixed on him, locked with his black ones. He did not intimidate her in the least. She had faced far darker things in her lifetime. She stopped flexing her claws as he stopped, and he was closer than she would have liked. Another low growl emit from the depths of her throat. Then he did what she did not allow anyone to do. He made a motion to remove her mask.

... Oh, hell no.

She let out a snarl, and in the blink of an eye, she moved ducked out of the way of his paw and lashed out at his face. Immediately after, she lunged away, wheeling about to face him, crouching down low to the ground. Her tail lashed about behind her, eyes burning with fury. If it was a fight he wanted, it was one hell of a fight he would get.

((Yes. I sometimes switch so even means miss, but you are correct. One means miss, one means hit, and the other means the other decides. Looks like you decide. ))

The smack indeed hit him, leaving long claw marks down the side of his face. He didn't move, only his ear twitched. Slowly, a crooked smile spread across his face, and he cocked his head to the side, eyes widening as a sickening laugh burst through his throat. Oh! A feisty one! God, he loved the feisty ones. They made him have a little work out. He took a mental note, remembering what had triggered her response. She did not look dumb enough to start a fight, but her mask was not something to toy with.

He slipped to the side of the water, taunting her with that smile of his only a mad man could produce. He liked her spunk, he would like it more when she was bleeding from her neck. No one hit him and got away with it unless they were really something special, and she was not. Oh, he had great respect for her for even lifting a paw against him, many wouldn't.

He swiftly and quickly darted towards her. He was from a family of runners, and even if he was more brute force than speed he still was fast. He jumped to the side before she could swipe out and aimed his claws at her side, intending on grabbing her and sending her rolling to the ground.

|| La de da~||

A pang of satisfaction prodded at her as she saw the blood roll down his cheek. He came at her then, and he was fast. She sidestepped him, or tried to at least. She did not expect him to step to the same side at the last minute. He was quick to react, too, for her claws did meet her, and she could feel him doing more than a simple swipe. She snarled as she felt herself being brought down, though she was quick to react as well. She dropped her weight so that, yes, she would go down, but her feet never slipped or faltered. With a strong twist, she swiveled around, breaking his hold on her and facing him once again. With a hiss, she launched herself at him off her hind legs.

Sin leapt to the side before she could collide with him, finding himself having to keep focused. This was odd, he couldn't remember the last time someone had him concentrating this much. He had fun fights before, but this one was different. Maybe, she was more on par with him? Or maybe he was over reacting? He did not like someone being equal to him, not one bit. He was the insane killer, he was the one who would win. That was that, and that was what he was going to assure was going to happen. She could dart around like a rabbit all she wanted, he would win in the end. Or so he believed.

He skidded to the side and pushed off the ground with his back legs. He suddenly did a quick turn, whipping his thick tail out in the hopes of hitting her legs and sending her falling.

Her nimble form leapt over his thick tail as he swung at her. She landed neatly, swerving around to face him once more. Her eyes narrowed as they calculated, quick calculations, of course. She did not have time to plot out a strategy, she had never needed one. This fox, whoever he was, was different. He certainly knew how to fight, though that was a fact she would not admit. The last thing she wanted to do was boost his ego, and oh how she knew how large a male's ego could be, especially one protecting his home and family. A few battle scars would do him good, and those little incisions on his face were not prominent enough, despite the fact that they did look rather appealing, or at least she thought so. Then again, Nex's likes were rather macabre, but that was beside the point.

She shifted her weight to her hind legs, subsequently launching herself off them, flying towards him. She hit him straight on, taking him down with the force of the impact and the momentum. She let out a growl at the collision and they both tumbled to the ground. She managed to catch herself, gray eyes boring into his black ones. Madness surged in their depths, though it was mixed with odd emotions, one of curiosity and amusement, though she certainly did not feel either of those at the time. Consciously she felt malicious, violent, and aggressive. Subconsciously, however, she was having fun, something she had not done in a very long time. She would never realize feeling those emotions, though, at least not right now.

A smirk twisted on her face behind her bone mask and she let out a sinister laugh. "Pity you, the fool who thought he could best the devil," she hissed, swiping at his neck then lunging over his form to the side, turning around to face his form once again, crouching down, the end of her tail flicking softly behind her. She felt satisfied seeing his body lie on the ground, though she knew he would rise once again. She wondered why she did not finish then and there when she clearly had the opportunity.

Maybe it was because she was having fun, despite the fact she did not realize it.

Sin was shocked as he was sent to the ground, growling as he managed to throw himself back upwards. Oh, she was a clever little demon. How long had it been? She was female, and yet she matched his skill beautifully. Oh, he was angry, furious even. This was his home, his family, and he wanted to protect the only thing safe from his wrath and made him actually feel something other then blind malice. At the same time, he wanted to make this fight last. No, he couldn't. He had to make her fall. He had to kill her, or wound her badly enough to hold her prisoner in Cruor. This was his family! No one would lay a paw on them, not even this interesting vixen.

He twitched over to her, laughing manically. "You're fun!" He laughed out, lips curving delightfully. "To bad, family comes first." He snarled the last sentence out, lunging at the female, aiming to pin her down. He changed his approach, suddenly landing on his front legs and flipping himself over to throw his full body weight on top of her. If he landed or not would be evident very soon.

Though, he had to admit, she was fun.
Amusing to fight with, at the least.
But family always came first.
Always.
