Name: Ava Romano
Nicknames: none she likes to be called by (though Tomboy's a pretty common one)
Approximate Age: 14
Date of Birth: September 28th
Prophet of: Garuda, King of Birds
Occupation: n/a
Personality: Ava's relatively outgoing, if a bit brusque. She doesn't get the concepts of femininity and masculinity for things other than clothing, and as a result she's a bit of a tomboy. She enjoys a good rumble (so long as there's no weapons involved – that's not cool) and doesn't understand why other girls don't. She even offers! In fact, she always offers, and only fights if the other party chooses – be it with their words or their fists. There's no honor, and more importantly no
fun, in picking on somebody weaker or unwilling!
She is a lot more reserved around adults, and respects their wishes (even if she doesn't always like to). Honestly, she
tries to be polite to everyone, but when it's not reciprocated she's at a loss for what to do. Hence why she's more blunt around people her own age – that's how they act. Around her, anyway. While Ava is physically strong, her will is not, and she's more inclined to follow than to lead. Left to her own devices, she honestly has no idea what to do with herself.
Likes: fisticuffs, sports (of the violent persuasion), eating, being better than other people (at least in tests of strength)
Dislikes: being mistaken for a dude, being scolded, being holed up or left alone for too long, being a strain on her family
Powers:Power One- Bearer of Great Weight – Like her god's namesake, Ava is strong relative to her size – rivaling that of an average adult male. Unfortunately, she also has the caloric need of one.
Power Two-
A Dissimulation of Birds – Ava can change her size – slightly. It's more pronounced if she does is involuntarily (e.g. when frightened she literally shrinks away) but even then, it's a few inches, tops.
Appearance:Hair: The kind of dark brown that is often mistaken for black. It's wavy and shoulder-length. While bangs would probably make more sense (and result in fewer incidences of blindness) she could never sit still for styling, so she just parts it in the middle, or (more rarely) ties it back.
Eyes: Wide-eyed, with a nondescript-brown iris.
Face: Still fairly round and smooth, though her eyebrows are high and thin. Coupled with her eyes, Ava looks constantly surprised – if she isn't consciously making the effort
not to. The effect is lessened in part by her newfound beak – from what was the tip of her nose to right above the chin. Curved like a raptor's, it doesn't stick out much farther than her nose did, but it more than makes up for it by consuming most of the lower third of her face. Poor girl's got next to no lip left, and she's lucky she still has her teeth.
Body type: Ava is quite pale, and fries in the sun more often than not. As far as divine attributes go, she was born with “nubs” on her back – it's only recently did those nubs look like chicken wings covered in scarlet down. Ava has a wide frame, but is on the lean side. She doesn't have much in the way of curves, having narrow hips and being fairly flat-chested. Coupled with the fact that's she's more muscular than some
guys her age, and it's not hard to see why there might be some initial gender confusion. Which is precisely why Ava goes out of her way to dress in a more “girly” manner.
Fashion sense: While Ava does dress in more feminine clothing, she also dresses practically. She'll wear tight-fitting tops to show off what few curves she does have, but they're also often sleeveless – she'd like to keep her full range of motion in her arms, and tank-tops are very conducive to that. She'll wear skirts, but only if they very flow-y – in the off chance she has to kick some sense into someone. Even her hair fits the theme – it's not so long as to get in the way, but it's longer than most boys wear. The only thing that doesn't really fit are her sneakers – worn to the point that you can't tell what the original color was, they've seen many years of use. Partly it's a comfort thing (who can kick butt in stilettos, c'mon) and partly because her parents don't have a ton of money. Well, her sneakers
and her chest-binding (which was originally a “back” binding, but has doubled as a bra-substitute since puberty). Even with her newfound wings, it's her preferred method of support. (Not that she really needs it, what with the whole flat-chested thing.)
Accessories: Ava's not really an accessory girl.
