Sloth, not new; Liberality, same; together, done... So how the bloody hell did her next student end up with metallic skin? The techs were getting more creative these days, weren’t they? Whatever. Students were students and she had to teach them like it or not. Hopefully he wasn’t like a magnet and rendered all metallic weapons useless by attracting them to his flesh.

Hopefully.

Vali flicked his tail as he made his way to the designated location to meet this new teacher. His tail flicked behind him as his hidden eyes landed on the figure of yet another unfamiliar teacher. She was super all and slim. He wondered if her tight muscluar body was robotic like his first teacher. She seems almost too plan but judging on someone's looks was not his style.

"I take if you are miss Darsonix?"

Ary nearly flinched at the formal name, glad he used Miss and not Mrs... "Please, call me Ary. If this was a formal class I'd have issued uniforms. Either way, assuming you're Vali and thus my student, is there any sort of nickname you wish for me to use? Also, as this is a melee class, I'm curious as to what you would most like to learn for combat styles. We can go simple or extravagant, stealthy and ranged or close and personal. It's all up to you," she explained, remembering the days when bloody war fields were not all that uncommon. Ah, when the war smelled of blood and the rivers ran red. Those were the good ol' days, long gone now that everyone had some sort of peace treaty and "morals".

Vali gave a small nod. "I guess if you do not know what your going to be teaching uniforms would be hard to pick out." He had to admit he liked that she seemed to be willing to let him pick what he wanted to learn. He watched as she listed his options. Sooner or later he wanted to know it all. How else would he be able to defend the few who were close to him.

"From the looks of it you know combat well. I am sure teaching children is not something you wish to do." his tails flicked as he looked over her, "I guess when one is in battle they can not always rely on long range and weapons. Sooner or later things will go wrong and things will get close and become hand to hand. So I think it would be best to learn something to defend myself. Like kick boxing or chi na. Don't you Ary?"

“I do know combat well and yes, teaching children really wasn’t something I wished to end up doing but, it pays me well and was the only thing that interested me. Well, except for that one offer but I had to decline,” Ary explained, crossing her arms curiously. The boy was definitely different from the others, automatically picking up on her distaste for the place and lack of true violence.

“Things can go wrong for anyone. Even close combat like what you suggested can be turned against you when against an expert or you can tire. I can teach kickboxing, but not that other suggestion. I have yet to learn that sort of thing myself and personally, I don’t care to. Too fancy for my tastes,” she continued, making a half-disgusted face at the thought of karate. Sure it had its good points and bad points, but the one thing she hated was overly complicated moves and training sessions. Learning how to be a ninja and samurai took long enough, so why should she have to learn everything else?

Vali listened to her. As he did he hardly seemed to move. Even his tail that moved at a near constant rate seemed to almost be made of stone. "I see. Some times that is what we need to do. Things we don't like huh?" He spoke afterwards.

"I am sure you were and are still a great warrior." He added after she spoke about what she would teach him. "I will be glad to learn from you. And yes I know everything can't always go well. But it is good to start with the basics and work up to greater things." His tail flicked as it coming out of a daze and his body shifted. "Shall I start with a warm up run or are there stretches that you prefer first?"

There were very few kids that made it into Ary's favorites list, since she found them all annoying or strange or just plain old frustrating but Vali had managed to break past that already. Definitely a kid she hoped to show up in her class again.

"Nah. You're a beginner and it's not going to be all that intense of a class. So, you wanted to learn some form of hand to hand combat, correct? There's half a dozen styles so would you rather try some sort of street fighting or kick boxing or what?" she asked, knowing that had her class been longer and more focused she would've asked for stretches but as it was, they were almost pointless.

In Vali's current mindset he could not help but like this teacher. She got down to the point. She did not seem to be looking for friends. And lord knows he was not himself. His tail flicked behind him as he thought. "Well i don't know much about either style or there differences. But isn't it true that some styles work better based on the size of the user? What one do you think would be more beneficial to my current build?" He asked though he was interested in knowing more about the different styles. Maybe she could teach him some more once he mastered the one she could give him now. "Street fighting uses knives and objects right?"

"Well... Yes and no. There are some styles more suited to some people but in general it's more how one goes about fighting that is determined by one's size and shape. Those that are taller and more flexible tend to have more graceful moves than those of a stockier build. Those that can move quickly tend to dart around more than those that are not. You I'd pair with a slower more powerful sort of moves," Ary explained, looking over Vali. Being sloth, she didn't expect him to move as fast as a diligence or new wrath spawn or have as powerful of strikes as any child of wrath.

And he didn't look like the kind to dance and flow around and be nearly impossible to touch. "Kickboxing maybe, but perhaps boxing but neither would be terribly useful outside of a ring. However, if you give me a moment to think I can probably adjust it into something more street-like. And yeah, street fighting tends to be dirtier and malicious where anything and everything can be used or done. The streets don't know right from wrong and what's fair and neither should you when out there," she added, scratching vaguely at a faint and very thin scar on her arm. The streets were cruel depending on where you were and what your status was within their dark society.

Vali listened to Ary explaining. She really did know her fighting styles and information. He found her very interesting to listen too. She seemed to light up when she spoke of fighting though not so much when others things were concerned.

Giving a slow nod he moved a hand to his hip his tail shifting to curve around his wrist. "Then if street would be more useful I should learn that. And I might not look it but I am very flexible. Fast not so much but despite my skin and size I am flexible." he did not know if that would matter. And though he was not a fan of fighting unfairly if whom ever he was facing would not play fair then neither should he. More so if he wanted to defend himself or others. What knight could not fight? And it was not like he would be running around and joining any random brawl.

Ary was mildly surprised at Vali's comment about him being more flexible than he seemed. "Well then, I'll just have to believe you until proven otherwise. I never really expected you to be fast, however, so you'll have to rely on dexterity and strength instead," she replied, pondering on how to go about things.

"I can she you a few defensive moves then some used mainly for attacking and then mock-fight to really get them down. It's how I essentially learned so many years ago and it has served me quite well," she added, eager to push the strange metallic boy to his limits and then some.

Had Vali been able to read Ary's mind, the fact that she was comparing him to the standard of what a 'normal' sloth child was and would do, would be enough of a drive to make him to what ever she asked of him and more. He would show her how different he was and his anger at his father for dying on him would really show threw.

But the metallic spawn could not. So Vali gave a nod, "Well then I shall prove to you that your time will be well spend on me miss Ary." His lips almost smirked as his tail wrapped loosely around his leg ready to start learning the basic. Though she did say that with street fighting anything goes. So he fully intended to us all that he could. He was ready for her to work his body over and leave him acting like a true sloth spawn.

Ary moved to face the spawn, taking up a basic defense position. "When in a street fight, remember that underhanded moves can and will happen unlike in a classroom or in a controlled environment. This pose is the basic, all-around blocking defensive position. Use your arms to block, but only let them get at the muscles and not the veins unless you want to die of blood loss," Ary explained, showing him what she meant as she spoke.

"Duck and dodge using your feet to move yourself whenever possible. If you can't use your arms or the weapon or attacker is too deadly, get the ******** out of the damned way. No sense killing yourself being valiant. Often the best plan of attack is the one where you fight to get away," she added, a soft smile flickering onto her face at the memories the phrase brought back. Ah, good times, good times.

Vali listened and watched her. As soon as she shifted into the defensive position he moved his body to mimic hers. His knees bent his tail flicking behind him to help find a good sense of balance for him. He took a slow breath and tried to lighten up his stance on his knees to allow him to move easier. "Be ready for anything and know how to get out when needed."

He gave a practice duck and looked like he was about to fall though he caught himself at the last minute. He spread his legs a bit more and tried again this time keeping his balance a bit better. "I should not try to be the hero, only fight when needed right?"

Ary raised an eyebrow and snorted. “Do what you wish on that. I won’t govern how anyone deals with what they learn and how they use it. Sure the right way is what you say, but I believe differently being brought up on a harsh and cold realm where if fighting doesn’t solve your problems you shouldn’t be in said situation anyways. The strongest, fastest, and smartest survive while the rest disappear. Gaia isn’t like that, but I still live by that code. Unfortunately, I’m now banned from some cities because of it now that I think about it,” she replied, then showing him some blocking maneuvers one might normally use.

“I mean really, if someone makes a rude comment to me of COURSE I’m going to break their nose. Like I ever expect a freaking riot to start,” she grumbled, shaking her head suddenly. “But enough of my history, you’re a nice enough kid you won’t have such problems. Do what you wish with what you learn here and if that means only fighting when need be, then so be it,” she added. “Now, don’t expose... Er... Well, I would say don’t expose the underside of your arms as that’s where the veins are but that makes no sense with you and your metallic skin. Anyways, block your head like this.... your torso area like this and use your legs to block those low blows or catch low kicks with your hands,” she explained, demonstrating each defensive move as she spoke about it. “You try, and then we’ll do a little mock fight where you have to defend yourself.”
