So, I've been curious to know what people think about other types of Pagans.
Tell me what you think about: Druids, Reconstructionists, Neo-Pagans, Witches, Wiccans, and the like. I know we all love this guild, but we could learn more from within our guild about different Pagans.

I guess I could force myself to make assumptions based off what little I know but....well....how stupid would that be?
I'm not one to make too many assumption based on personal faith (at least I'd like to think sweatdrop ) except for when it might be better for me to keep my mouth shut. At least I could say with other types of Pagans...I probably wouldn't be too worried. Does that count for something?

I think all the paths you've mentioned, as well all others are valid, and their adherents beautiful in their own way of following, essentially, their faith. When I break it down though, I see two types of Pagans, those who can, and those who cannot. Those who can are able to not only "talk the talk", but "walk the walk" as well. They do not see the need to hide behind words, nor feel a need to prove themselves to anyone but themselves. These Pagans are mature, not in age, but in spirit, and choose as wisely as possible in daily things. They don't rush into the fray, looking to hack down another person and their beliefs just to get a slight ego trip and make a point. They know the true merit of the world around them, and their own place in it. Likewise, the watch, read, dress, believe, and do pretty much whatever appeals to them, regardless of labels like "fluffy bunny" or "goth".
The Pagans who cannot are marginally good at pagan-based conversation, but when it's go time, are so stuck on their hang ups that it's amazing if they can even produce a small amount of change. They hack and slash at others personal beliefs, while proselytizing their own (but won't admit to it, because it would color them a shade of patriarchal that they just can't bear to associate with... sweatdrop ). Rather than embrace the true spirit that is Paganism, they contort it into something so bland and empirical that it is no wonder there are hundreds of us running around with no real guidance other than the media. Personally, I think these sorts of Pagan suck, but they have their right to believe so...whatever...
I don't hate on the noobs I see walking around, though I wish they had more to go on, and if it were just a cry for attention, that they wouldn't drag religions like Paganism or Wicca into their problems. I'll admit, theres a bit of a high when your first start off on a path so radical (especially if you live in the Midwest, Bible Belt, or in a family raised under a certain denomination), I felt it myself. It roots people out, much like a med students first semester of anatomy and physiology. From those who will go on to be "true" Pagans, from others who lose themselves in dogma, and those who cant make up their minds altogether.
On a side note, I will say I greatly admire the reconstructionalists and the Neo-Druids. There is a lot of studying, not just magickal but historical as well, and keeping so close to the "old" ways, it takes a lot. When I was studying Tameran (Egyptian) "Wicca" (I use that loosely), I looked on the few Egyptian reconstructionalist forums (not on Gaia- ack), and I saw a lot of dedication that one doesn't typically see amongst many modern Pagans. Even down to learning ancient, spoken, Egyptian for rituals...wow. and it isn't like there are endless sources out there for them to go to. One really has to dig to find that stuff...not saying that modern Wicca, witchcraft, and so on isnt deep, but reconstructionalist folks are pretty hard core.

Hmm... At the moment Im not exactly sure how I feel about other Pagan paths. A lot of people have their own interpretation and views of their own paths its hard for me to classify them all in one to form an opinion. :/ All I do is just what I can to help out the newbs depending if they're looking for something I can help then with.

I don't know if this should be a separate post, but what websites do you recommend that are like Magick Life, but not on Gaia?
