She hummed a little to the floating orange orb above her as her light blue hands swung lightly by her sides.
Draei, the young angelic Pae has been venturing further and further from her cave ever since she discovered she has grown into a child, much more mobile from the randomly moving orb she used to be. Her inquisitive nature overcame her shyness and now she has even found a favourite rock which she could perch upon delicately, her hands neatly folded on her lap.
For this was a child she was, ever meticulous and ever gentle, she would look at any one with her calm argent eyes, her candy pink hair flowing tucked behind her wings. The silver halo floating above her head tended to fall lopsided which would cause her to tilt it back up with one finger, and apt to be similar to her, her guardian orb flitted noiselessly around, albeit constantly humming to her.
Now as she gazed around her, still seated on her favourite rock, Draei couldn't help but feel an endless tug within her. It was different from when she would meet another Pae but nevertheless caused the same strange bidding. She wondered if it could have anything to do with the loud crash and flashes of light and waves of water outside her cave the other day............

A second, female Pae child sat on the sand scooping it into her hands, and then watching it fall through her fingers. She would do this repeatedly, and when something would not sift through, she would gently place it on a little pile next to her and continue playing with the sand.
The pile wasn't really much to her; sure, there were a few interesting shells, rocks, and bits of sea glass here and there, but the real pleasure she got was of feeling ths sand on fall through her finger instead. She couldn't explain it, but it felt...interesting.

She wandered onto the beach, the sand was rough, and the sun too hot, but she enjoyed the tugging pulls of the waves and the crash of the sea foams.
Draei spotted another Pae playing with the sand in the distance and watched her for awhile, before ambling closer...
"Why do you do that?" she asked softly. She couldn't understand how anyone would want to touch the yellow gritty thingy, that clings to you and is harsh.

Aislinn looked up suddenly. She stared for a while at the blue angel pae, then replied, "Feels soft. Feels rough. Sometimes shiny. Sometimes dull. She held up a handful of a 'sand rock'. "Rock." Then she crumbled it in her hand and watched it sprinkle onto the ground. "Dust."
Then she smiled sweetly. "Me Aislinn. Who you?"

She tilted her head, then sat down with her legs curled up, next to Aislinn.
"Me Draei" She replied, and then pointed to the humming orb, "that's Orb, he just likes to hum and fly about."
Her head resting on her knees, she watched the pae play with the sand. "it's that really fun? I prefer the water.....do you want to come?"

"Water?" Aislinn looked up suddenly. "Me never been in water before...mommy 'fraid I'll fall in and not come back." She said sadly.
Then her gaze turned to 'Orb' for a moment, and another glowing light hovered beside the girls. This one was red, and highly energetic, darting about hyperly. But then it would slow dramatically, and suddenly start become active again. It was quite odd behavior, but Aislinn seemed to give it no regard. Perhaps her orb always did that.
"My thingy no have name yet," she said, still staring at the water, as if wondering hard about it. Her momm clearly didn't want her getting in; but it looks like so much fun. What would be the harm?

+Meta plot interjection+
Young Draei was seated outside of her cave, idly looking around as she was apt to do. Suddenly a brief warm light glimmered high above the island, and it's hypnotic tendrils brushed through the Pae child. Within moments though, it disappeared and she blinked, those large baby pink eyes once again regarding her surroundings as if nothing strange had happened.

She nodded, smiling, "It'll be ok. Just a little bit into the water and we can play.."
Draei started walking, waiting a few steps for Aislinn to catch up. Then she blinked at the red orb, "Your's is funny.....it keeps stopping and running......."
Her sentences came sparingly, as if she spent a long time thinking about them before speaking. Soon they reached the waters edge and Draei immediately went wading in, until the coolness pooled around her calves, and she could feel the little tugs and pulls of the water spirits.

Aislinn hurried to catch up with Draei, then looked up at her gaurdian. She nodded. "It always do that...funny little red orb...me no know its name yet...but me find out later."
Draei happily ventured into the shallow water, splashing about and feeling the wetness on her skin and in her hair. "Cold!" she cried out, but would not leave the water. She giggled and splashed energetically. "Fun!!!"

She giggled, "you no been in the water before? Here!" and she started splashing at Aislinn playfully.
The orb flitting about hummed louder in alarm and darted away from the splashes.

Aislinn put her hands up instinctively squealed in delight as the spray of droplets hit her. Her little red orb followed Draei's to get out of the way. Giggling, Aislinn tried to mimic what Draei was doing and splashed her with water in return. She learned to use her tail as an advantage, which helped her splash more water the angel pae's way.

Draei quickly leaped away, dashing through the sprays of water until she reach behind Aislinn and jumps in the water so it splashed onto the demonic child.
Alas she accidentally slipped and fell over backwards with a sudden flump!
the waters were shallow tho so she landed soaked but fine. A fit of giggles escaped her as she scrambled back up again.

She looked at her hands in wonder. She has grown, and now her curly locks of pink fell in waves across her shoulders and little orb has sprouted wings. Delighted, she gurgled, then gasped as she heard her own voice. It was rich and sounded with resonance. Happily Draei settled comfortably onto her favourite rock, light eyes gazing about her.
