Lucifer marched along, contently kicking a pine cone up a hill, then over and down the other side. His thoughts ran rampant... Emiko didn't stop coursing through his mind. She had promised help to find his knight in shining armor, he wondered how serious she was about it.
But, he tossed his thoughts aside as he marched over the hill. He stared across the lands, admiring it's beautiful, secretly wishing he could share this with a family, being alone was taking it's toll on him, and he was ready to settle the score.

After a long journey, Rinji finally decided to stop in a clearing at the bottom of a hill. Having eaten, he now rested in the grass, his small herd scattered around him. Even though he needed to be on guard, he pushed the group to travel a bit further than it should and in the end, it took its toll on him as well. So now, he slept soundly, without much care in the world.
Hitomi; a ferret and Rinji's friend, on the other hand, was still awake and alert. At the base of the hill, she sniffed around for food, all while constantly looking up and checking on the members of the herd. Hearing something skitter in the grass above her on the hill, her ears flicked before looking up to see what it was. At first, all she saw was a pine cone tumble down the side. But soon, a silhouette of a bigger figure started to form over the horizon and started to walk down the hill. Alarmed, she bounded over to the sleeping stallion as fast as she could to let him know of what she saw.

Lucifer continued to walk his path, a steady pace somewhere between a leisurely stroll and a trot. He swore he heard something in the grass and froze, his muscles stiff in tension. He looked around, scanning the area for predator's or any poisonous creepy crawlies and continued walking, much slower and more alert now. He traveled alone, and couldn't afford to be attacked by a Kalona or a Skinwalker.

Rinji was unaware of the other stallion coming down the hill. That is, until the small ferret came up to him and stirred him from his slumber. Unfortunately, that meant a small but swift n** to his nose. Letting out a soft nicker of complaint, he lifted his head while giving it a shake. With that, his dual-colored eyes looked to Hitomi and questioned the wake up call. When she had told him of the soquili, he glanced up. Sure enough, there was a stallion descending from the side of the hill. Inwardly, he wanted to question as to why he was woken for this, but instead, he just got up and prepared to greet the newcomer.

Lucifer continued to walk, until he spotted the figure of a stallion approaching. He froze, standing completely still. Had he accidentally ventured into someone elses territory? He hoped not, and prayed in his head. 'Spirits, protect me from this stranger... ' He continued to repeat such prayers until he was closer to the stallion.
When the male got within earshot, he spoke as loud as he could muster his voice to get. "H-Hello, Stranger..." He didn't want to sound too confident, he meant no harm, and those antlers looked dangerous. He analyzed the male top to bottom, trying to gather all he could about him.

As he got closer to the other stallion, the half-breed picked up that the other seemed nervous. Because of that, he slowed down his pace. There wasn't much more he could do to make himself look less intimidating. He could not remove his scales or antlers, nor could he make himself smaller.
At a decent distant from the other, he stopped, especially as the other greeted him. There, he bowed his head low in return. Lifting his head again, he replied. "Greetings Traveler."

Lucifer froze for a moment as the other stopped, he took in the sight of the other's antlers. He'd never encountered a Cerynei before. It struck him odd to see another with horns... He took another gulp and attempted to speak, but choked back the words. Months of isolation and travel had quite literally destroyed his social skills.
Trying once more, he managed to squeeze the words from his throat into a soft, whimper of a sentence, something like a mouse.
"Wh-what brings you to these lands, I-if I may a-a-as-ask?"

Rinji remained silent as the other seemed stuck in place when he approached. He did not want to seem intimidating despite his appearance. So, he waited patiently until the other stallion grew comfortable with his presence, tail flickering lightly.
When the other finally asked his question, he answered gently. "I am just taking my small herd out to graze and have a rest from wandering."

Lucifer allowed his response marinade in his mind, first feeling relief he wouldn't be attacked or otherwise harassed by this stranger, but immediately he felt dread. A small herd? Did that mean there were more? One more gulp in nervousness until he managed to drag the words from his throat.
"So, there are more of you...?"
Anxiety began to take over, then confusion, how would he cope with so many different beings surrounding him? Unsure if he'd be able to take it, his nose crinkled and he closed his eyes for a moment, counting backwards from ten in his mind. A strange sight indeed.

Seeing and sensing the worry in the other stallion, Hitomi scurried out from under Rinji's legs and went to the others legs instead. There, she looked up to him with a kind smile before gently rubbing herself against one of his legs. "It is alright. You are safe." She cooed lightly, her smile widening.
Feeling movement from among his hooves, he looked down and watched the ferret transfer from himself to the stallion before him. He looked as she nuzzled his legs, but nodded and returned his attention to their guest. "Yes, there are more, but believe me when I say that none of us will do you any harm."
