Atop the highest mountain in the Fire Empire sits the Fire Lord and Lady’s palace. The location provides a sweeping view of the kingdom. When you enter the palace, you arrive in the foyer, a long, wide corridor leading to an enormous set of double-doors. The doors stand open, showing you the throne room, where one may find Aleria Skye, the Fire Lady, and her twin brother, the Fire Lord.

Aleria Skye Soft-Spoken | Determined| Fire Empire | Moon Elf -------------------- xxxxAleria Skye sat quietly atop her throne in the largest room in the palace, waiting for something of interest of her to occur. The silence hung about the spacious room like a heavy curtain, save for the gentle clattering sound of the guards’ armor. She sighed and stood, walking to one of the tall marble columns. The hem of her white dress, split high up her thigh to provide freedom of movement, fluttered gracefully as she moved with long, quick strides. She glanced at the stack of papers and documents that required her signature and balked at the idea of reading through more of that crap. xxxx“I hate paperwork. Why do they always give me so much paperwork?” Lady Aleria whispered to no one in particular, turning her silver eyes back to look at the main entryway of the palace she shared with her brother. Two guards stood at either side of the inside of the door, motionless, but undoubtedly watching her every movement. She knew from memory that two more guards were stationed on the other side of the door, monitoring who came in and who came out of the palace. On top of that, the two captains of the Chapter Guard stood to either side of her and her brothers’ thrones, stealthily concealed by the heavy, bloodred velvet hangings swept to either side of the regal golden chairs. The captain to the left of her throne stepped forward, bowing respectfully by closing his right hand into a fist and placing it over his heart, then bending slightly at the waist. His left hand strayed to the hilt of his sword as he surveyed the room quickly. xxxx"Lady Aleria, to whom are you talking, my queen?” The captain’s gruff voice was soft and affectionate. No one would even have heard his voice if Aleria hadn’t been listening intently to every sound made. Her pale eyes sparkled and her lips turned up at the corners into a serene smile as she gazed proudly at the Captain clad in his armor with the symbol of the Fire Empire emblazoned proudly on his shoulder protector. xxxx“No one, in particular, my Captain.” She shook her head sadly as her Captain raised an eyebrow. Everyone in the Chapter guard thought she was crazy, and it was no secret. It wasn’t that she was talking to herself. It was that she always spoke so quietly that people assumed she wasn’t talking to anyone. Usually, she was speaking to the guards, or to her brother, when she spoke in a tone as soft as that one. Her pale silver eyes didn’t help much, either. They looked perpetually unfocused and distant, like those of a blind person. She sighed, cutting off her own musings to prevent against the ensuing wave of depression settling over her. After a few quiet seconds, Aleria made her way back to her throne to wait. For what, she didn’t know, but she would wait, all the same. Her Captain, less tense now that Lady Aleria was back within range of his protection, stepped back into the shadows cast by the curtain, closing his hand on the hilt of his broadsword. The silence settled back in the room as she waited for something. For anything. “You live your life to the fullest, and somewhere along the road, you fall in love. You don’t know how or why... but it happens, and it’s the thing that can make or break you.”

Kaji stormed into the throne room, ignoring the questions and comments by the bothersome guards. Everything always got loud when he entered the scene. Making the most noise as possible, he made his way towards the stack of documents. He didn't so much as glance at her twin sister, not because he didn't care but because he was so irritated from the repetitive stacks of papers that needed to be tended. It seemed the stacks increased in length despite of constant work they devote their days to. It was quiet as ever in the room, with puzzled and nervous guards. Kaji sighed louder than necessary and frowned. His dominant black eyes pierced down at the papers. The word was starting to depress him, as he had nothing else to look forward to. He pulled away from the work and gently massaged his temples. It would be a long day indeed. His twin sister, Lady Aleria, sat silently on the throne. Kaji walked closer to her and raised an eye brow, indicating "why are you not working sister?". He shook his head and glanced at the work once more, before removing his jacket and throwing it across the room. One of the guards fetched its, and Kaji looked at the guard with interest. His mind wandered as he got comfortable in the room, wondering why the guards are so loyal to a ruler so rude. He scratched his tattoo on his shoulder, the infamous sign of the Lord and Lady of the Fire Empire. After clearing his throat and taking a seat beside his sister, Kaji thought about what to say. "Whats up? Did you get any work done today sis? You know everyone is on our asses about them". Kaji's voice was deep but clear. Always fast and straight forward, like he hated wasting his breathe. One of the key characteristics about the young lord was that he never repeated himself. There was no need, since most of the time when he spoke his sound level was a little short of a yell.
The captains constantly reminded them about that. Who knew becoming a political leader came with so much work and responsibility. Kaji was only in it for the power. That how it always was, he was the power hungry war genius while his sister was the gentle and considerate leader, always pursuing the option that was beneficial to the people. With them together, many said they each had something important needed to rule, and together they can be unstoppable. It was ludicrous how different they were.

Aleria Skye Soft-Spoken | Determined| Fire Empire | Moon Elf -------------------- xxxxWith a sigh that seemed to come from her very soul, Aleria watched as her brother stormed into the throne room, tossing aside what she was sure was a very expensive jacket. Her strange silver eyes followed Kaji’s movements as he stood looming over her, his expression bordering a full glare. She gestured for the guard that had picked up Kaji’s jacket to bring the article of clothing over to her, hanging it on the back of her throne by twisting slightly in her seat. She stayed silent for several seconds, peering at her brother as if she was staring into his very soul. The guard stepped back to his post behind one of the columns before she sighed yet again. xxxx“Kaji, sit. Please. You know I don’t like it when you stand over me like that.” Aleria gestured quickly to the seat beside her, still regarding her brother quietly. She pulled a sheet of paper from the stack beside her and handed it to Kaji. The paper read about an alliance to be proposed, and had spots for signatures from the lords of the other empires. Her voice was still intensely quiet, but she hoped her brother would understand that what she wanted to speak with him about was important to her. She wouldn’t have been speaking otherwise. “We need to travel to the other empires, to prevent ourselves from falling victim of an attack. Expecially by the Water Empire. You know how much power they have over us if they decide to attack.” She resisted the urge to smirk, knowing that bringing up the subject of war would pique her brothers’ interest. xxxxIn truth, Aleria cared nothing for war, and that fact was well-known throughout the Empire. Aleria’s compassion was with the citizens as individuals. The people adored her, she was aware of this much. She blinked, lapsing back into her usual silence. Her silence was her primary characteristic. She was known to be a listener, and compassionate one at that. “You live your life to the fullest, and somewhere along the road, you fall in love. You don’t know how or why... but it happens, and it’s the thing that can make or break you.”

Kaji calmly sat down and listened to his sister. When she finished, he ran over some options and possibilities. Still with a blank face, he looked over the document and thought silently. "I wont disagree of the fact that our empire may not be at its peak and therefore can very well be a victim to terrorism or war. I suppose it would be safe to visit the Water Empire and speak with Lord... umm... Kira, is it? Yes, we need to speak with Lord Kira first. We have an alliance with the Dark Empire, along with a few other factions."
Kaji summoned a servant and requested a pen. He hesitated, but signed inevitably. Even someone with as much pride as him knew that avoiding this treaty will just end with arguments, chaos, and war. He stood up, stretched and yawned suddenly tired and exhausted. The thought of war got him hyped while the thought of peace bored him tremendously. He glared at Aleria before retrieving his jacket from her throne. It was expensive, but Kaji wasn't the kind of person that cared whether or not things got dirty. As long as it was proper attire and clothing, he would wear. He motioned for his sister to get up. The guards and captains were quick to follow, which annoyed the hell out of Kaji. No one had privacy in the palace. The lord and lady were strong enough to defend themselves, but still the guards followed them everywhere, cautious of everything. The people of the fire empire were a similar case. They were loyal to the former ruler, Lady Faia. It seemed they were still trying to figure the new rulers objectives and if they were worthy of their trust.
"Alright, lets go Aleria. Our next destination is the Water/Ice Empire. Are you ready?"

Aleria Skye Soft-Spoken | Determined| Fire Empire | Moon Elf -------------------- xxxxResisting the urge to roll her eyes at her brother, Aleria stood, watching the guards tail him quickly. If there was one thing thye agreed on, it was how irritating it was that the guards never gave them even a moment of peace and quiet. As much as she detested the thought of entering the Empire that was their hated rival, she knew it had to be done. If such a treaty was never formed, it could spell war for her beloved Empire. xxxx“Yes. I’m ready.” Aleria responded quietly, with a sigh as she stepped down from her throne, her shoes making a brisk tapping noise on the floor. Immediately, two guards fell into step behind her earning them each a silvery glare from their Queen. Her gaze strayed to the tattoo on her brother’s right shoulder, reminding her of the identical one on her left shoulder. “You live your life to the fullest, and somewhere along the road, you fall in love. You don’t know how or why... but it happens, and it’s the thing that can make or break you.”

Aragorn =========================================== Aragorn had been assigned to guard duty of the Lord and Lady three months prier. At first he hated the job because they hated him. Now he dreaded coming. He talked to his superiors about getting transferred but they said he should be glad. He was only a peasant and yet he was able to guard the Fire Lord and Lady. He was hot in his armor and hated that it had to have a damn full helmet. He could barely see out of it. He had a short sword at his side and a shield with the Fire Empire's emblem on it on his back. The other guards either had the same thing as him or just a longsword. One of them even had an axe. The sooner I can go up in ranks and leave this duty the better. Though considering how important this job is I might not be able to leave."((I'm bored and you need someone to rp with)) =========================================== Strength: 11/100 Defense: 11/100 Agility: 11/100 Dexterity: 11/100 Endurance: 12/100 Magic: 11/100 Quote: When you use a skill or an ability then put its description in here

Aleria Skye Soft-Spoken | Determined| Fire Empire | Moon Elf -------------------- xxxxTurning away from her brother, and tearing her attention away from the tattoo on his shoulder, Aleria peered quietly at Aragorn, her and Kaiji’s personal guard. Her silver eyes took in his armor, the sword, the emblem emblazoned proudly in blood red on his back, and she smiled carefully. All of the guards thought she was crazy, that she was schizophrenic and talked to the voices in her head, but she knew she wasn’t crazy. She was usually talking to the guards or her brother when she spoke, and her voice was naturally quiet. She didn’t care either way. She had no one to impress, regardless of who they were. xxxx“Aragorn,” Aleria spoke his name so softly, it was almost a whisper as she reached for his hand gently. The guard would probably think she was so crazy, she required physical assistance to walk around. However, she intended to thank him for protecting herself and her brother. Kaji may hate the guards, but Aleria did not. She was perpetually grateful to all of the people protecting her, regardless of how annoying being followed every single solitary second may get. xxxxHer long, silver fingernails shone subtly in the diffused light within the throne room as she extended her hand towards the guard timidly, gesturing for him to take her hand. Regardless of how she may have seemed, Aleria wasn’t crazy, and she certainly wasn’t helpless. Those who had fought with her before would know that for a fact. The careful façade kept her opponents’ guard down, shocking them when they saw her true display of power. “You live your life to the fullest, and somewhere along the road, you fall in love. You don’t know how or why... but it happens, and it’s the thing that can make or break you.”

Aragorn =========================================== Aragorn barely heard what she said but saw her hand go out and over to his. His impulse at first was to grab it, but then he thought better of it. He moved his hand up slightly and gently grabbed her forearm. He couldn't be seen holding hands with Lady Aleria. He could get fired. Killed even. This was against the rules as is but she reached first not him. He didn't know why she even wanted to touch him. He thought that they both hated him for having to follow them all the time. The only time they had a moment of peace was when they he was ordered to stand guard outside doors while they were inside. "Great I'm gonna get fired for this. I know I am."=========================================== Strength: 11/100 Defense: 11/100 Agility: 11/100 Dexterity: 11/100 Endurance: 12/100 Magic: 11/100 Quote: When you use a skill or an ability then put its description in here

Aleria Skye Soft-Spoken | Determined| Fire Empire | Moon Elf -------------------- xxxxUnaware that her actions could get Aragorn fired, Aleria continued reaching for him, shaking off his hand when it met her forearm and grabbing his hand in both of her. She squeezed tightly, reminding him that she was stronger than him and she would not be letting go until she was ready to let go. Yes, being followed all the time was annoying, but it was his job, and Aleria wouldn’t hold it against him. “Aragorn,” She tried again, placing her hand gently on the side of his face, but forcing him to look at her all the same. “Thank you. Your protecting me and my brother means a great deal to us.” Her soft voice was the same she usually used when people assumed she was talking to herself. The only way for someone to know she was talking to him or her, was for Aleria to address them specifically. “I would like to request something of you. Would you be willing to accompany Lord Kaji and myself as we visit the other Empires to propose alliances?” It wasn’t that she required protection on their journey. Quite the contrary, actually. Aleria was certainly capable of defending herself, as her brother was capable of defending himself. She merely wished to have someone to keep her company. “You live your life to the fullest, and somewhere along the road, you fall in love. You don’t know how or why... but it happens, and it’s the thing that can make or break you.”

Aragorn =========================================== Aragorn turned his head to his comrades. They were looking at him with a you're ******** busted expression. He knew that this would be his last mission for Lady Aleria. Him standing here with her. His comrades would surely tell the captain and he would get fired. Inside of his helmet his face was red. "She probably doesn't know that she just cost me my job." It took him a few seconds from when he thought that to answering. "Yes Lady Aleria, I will accompany you and your brother." He wasn't going to tell her that he wouldn't be able to. After this he was going to get called down to the Captain's room and fired. He was happy that this is how he was going to finish his job as her guard. =========================================== Strength: 11/100 Defense: 11/100 Agility: 11/100 Dexterity: 11/100 Endurance: 12/100 Magic: 11/100 Quote: When you use a skill or an ability then put its description in here

Aleria Skye Soft-Spoken | Determined| Fire Empire | Moon Elf -------------------- xxxxAleria’s sharp eyes narrowed dangerously as she advanced on Aragorn with one quick step. Her gaze flickered to the other guards, unabashedly staring at Aragorn and herself, and she resisted the urge to punch someone. She snapped her fingers in the direction of one of the younger guards, gesturing for him to approach her and to be damn quick about it. xxxx“Something is bothering you. What is it?” She demanded before rounding on the younger guard and seizing him by the thick chain around his neck. Pulling him down to eye level, she glared into his eyes, making him tremble noticeably. “You breathe a word of anything that has transpired between myself and Aragorn, and I will personally kill you with a smile on my face.” She released the man, who stumbled back noticeably, staring at the woman everyone thought was crazy with horror in his eyes. “That goes for all of you. Aragorn will be accompanying my brother and me on a little journey. And he will be doing so on my orders. Whomever has a problem with this, understand something: you are more than welcome to have a talk with me personally to discuss the matter. Is that understood?” She glared at each of the guards in turn, each of them saluting her respectfully by placing his closed fist over his heart and bowing. “You are all dismissed!” She pointed at Aragorn, daring him to try to leave the room. “Not you, Sir Aragorn. You stay.” xxxxHer usually soft, gentle, good-natured voice, while still staying quiet, had become vicious and deadly, something that no one but Kaji had ever heard form her before. It was a voice only used when she was caught in the thick of battle, and extremely pissed off. It was a voice only heard by people who had died at her hands. “You live your life to the fullest, and somewhere along the road, you fall in love. You don’t know how or why... but it happens, and it’s the thing that can make or break you.”

Aragorn =========================================== Aragorn stopped where he was and turned around to face her. "Yes Lady Aleria." His voice was deep and muffled by the helmet. He thought about taking it off but thought against it. It was enough that there was going to be talk of his and Lady Aleria's non existent relationship within the barracks. He didn't need the fact that he let Lady Skye see his face. When he first started he swore that no guard other than the captain that he was first sent to would see his face. The guard in question that saw his face isn't living so no one in the Army knew what he looked like. He looked at Lady Aleria and waited for his order. =========================================== Strength: 11/100 Defense: 11/100 Agility: 11/100 Dexterity: 11/100 Endurance: 12/100 Magic: 11/100 Quote: When you use a skill or an ability then put its description in here

Aleria Skye Soft-Spoken | Determined| Fire Empire | Moon Elf -------------------- xxxxAleria watched silently, waiting for Aragorn to give away some kind of hint that he doesn’t want to accompany the twins. Seeing nothing for the moment, Aleria turned and took her brother by the arm, waiting for him to struggle against her vicelike grip. xxxx“Very well. Shall we go then?” Without waiting for an answer, Aleria exited the palace, destined for the Water Empire with a treaty proposal clutched in her hand.

Aragorn =========================================== Aragorn followed after them silently. He was going to try and hide the fact that he was with them for a while. He was still surprised that Lady Aleria even wanted him to go. No matter what she said he was still loyal to his Lady and Lord. He would do what they asked for now. He might ditch them sometime during this little expedition. He didn't know yet, but from how gentle her voice was when she first started talking to him he wasn't going to. He was starting to like her. Maybe he was falling in love. He was still unsure.
