Quietly a pair of people took to the streets. One had herself mostly covered with a cloak, keeping her wings tight against her back. The other wore his normal attire openly, which was a coat, white shirt, black pants, and his boots. He also had a sword on his side -under his coat- and a dagger strapped onto the side of his boot, and all of it was a procaution.
For one it was to catch his criminal and get the bounty for it. Second was to keep his 'child' safe for the time being.

"Alois, where are we going this time?" Felicity asked, looking over at her guardian. The hood of the robe made it difficult to look at him.

"There's a bounty that'll get us through the week if we get him." Alois explained to her. He knew that Felicity knew the drill, and that she would have to go off and hide for a little while. Even so he knew it was a lie to her. They had enough money to take of each other for some time.

Felicity started to straighten her arm, stretching them above her head for just a second before dropping them back under the cloak. "Bleh, why do I have to wear this when we are in town? I mean, come on! More people have found out about the hraapea...Should it not be a problem? Or are you too chicken?"

"Chicken? You're the bird, Felicity so stop it." Alois said not caring for her attempts with bird jokes. "And you know why, so just keep quiet until we get to our destination." he said looking at her for a moment before he looked about the town of Nuan.

A lone man sat at the bar of the pub. A glass of vodka resting in front of him untouched. A mid-priced cigar rested burning in his right hand as he looked at a small notepad he had with different information concerning his search for the creators of these possible super soldiers. r

"I swear, I spent a week here and only got so much vague information. Most are rumors anyway." Jonas said to the bar maid as he he tapped his cigar. Finally he got up and straightened his white dress shirt with the open button on the top and fixed his black slacks as he looked out the window.

He caught the glimps of a couple but something else caught his eye. The fact when she lifted his arm he caught sight of something that seemed out of place. Like a feather. He took his note pad and quickly tipped the bar tender leaving behind his cigar as he walked out trailing behind them.

Alois shifted noticing someone behind them. At first it didn't seem like much, since it was just a town and not the forest. It wasn't like the person behind them couldn't have been going to another place that just happened to be in the same direction they were walking.
Still there was the chance it wasn't just a consequence. Walking alittle further, Alois started to tense up, but tried to the show much of it. "Well this is where I bit adieu."

Felicity noticed Alois' body stiffen, and what he said, it was just something she had grown to notice after the years. Shifting slightly she looked at Alois for a moment. This was one of the situations he had taught her to recognize. "Good-bye, I shall see you tomorrow." She repeated. It was a rehearsed part, a simple solution to their now dilemma.

Alois had noticed someone behind them, and to see if whoever it was seriously was trailing one of them, he let Felicity go on with her part. A small step close and he kissed her on her forehead, careful of not to let her hood show her face. Shifting slightly he carefully watched her as she started to move away and towards another street.

A simple trick by the book, and Alois hoped whoever had been trailing them wouldn't pick up on the cues. Shifting slightly, Alois started to walk away, only now slower than before, carefully listening to see what would happen.

Following the two people made Jonas start to feel out of place doing this. Of course their had been times as a guard he had to follow people but this was another scenario. He was actually stalking someone.

When the two people separated in front of him he started to question his suspicion. As he saw the man walk off he caught sight of the dagger and knew instantly that the man was certainly not one to be trifle with. Not like the local drunks who thought they could take him.

Finally deciding on breaking this creepy and probably highly illegal charade he called out to the woman. "Excuse me ma'am. Can I ask you a few questions?" He asked finally giving up the hope of seeing what he saw or thought he saw he broke into a slight jog. He reached into his back pocket and his hand felt his switchblade but it quickly moved over to his note pad and pencil.

Anxiety levels shot through the roof for Felicity. This wasn't something she expected, much less having this man catch up to her and ask her questions. Shifting she stopped and turned to answer the man's question.
"I'm sorry, but I must be going now." she said, keeping her head down. The hood covered most of her face, all but her mouth, nose, and her white bangs and hair. She kept her wings as tight as possible to her back as if they were hands and she was tightening them into fists. "It’s going to be getting late...and a lady shouldn't be out too late, you know." Felicity said trying to be a little more comfortable, even though it was extremely difficult for her.

Alois wasn't too far behind, but he kept his distance, watching the two of them. He decided if the man wasn't going to leave he would come over and take over, but for now he found it best to fall back. Felicity was going to have to learn one of these days that she will need to take care of herself, and this was one of the things she was going to learn.

When he caught up to the woman he blinked as he saw her start to tense up. He frowned and kept a comfortable distance from her still holding his note pad. He had a casual demeanor, in this clothing or state he could pass off as a reporter or private eye.

"But the suns still out..." He said blinking as he watched her. "I'm sorry but you seem like one of the few people not drunk around here. At least answer this one question for me and I'll be on my way." He said giving her a friendly smile even though he doubted she could see it. "I'm sorry, know I'm putting you on the spot but I'm kind of desperate for information." His voice carried a little guilt to it but nothing he would lose sleep over.

He quickly opened the notepad to an empty page and wrote a quick description of her before asking her his question. "Do you know anything about a man creating beings called "Hraapea" or anything about them?" He asked gently. Why is she so tense? I look like the nice old reporter who's trying to avoid force retirement.

Felicity eyed only the parts of him she could see, carefully watching him. She listened to his words, and looked up slightly, showing the markings on her face when she looked towards the sky. Quickly she jerked her head down, nervous, feeling as if she was caught.

She tensed up even more, moving her hands to her cloak, touching them from the inside to keep herself hidden. Even so, her attempts were easily seen, and even Alois could see it from where he was.

"I-I've only heard of them...Aren't those creatures created by a scientist?..That man?" she asked, trying to sound general about the knowledge. It was difficult to say anything, since she had no clue of what others knew about her kind. "Oh..I-I've only heard rumors...Rumors that he has those creatures..and they have w-wings?" she said, unsure if he already knew about the wings or not.

Jonas was caught off guard when he saw her lift her head up into the air. He was suddenly bombarded with information from his brain. Wait those markings can't be tattoos. They were way to...natural. And her ears... he thought as he listened to her speak.

He silently put his notebook back into his back pocket and leaned back on his heel resting his hands against his back pockets. He listened to her frantic speech instantly telling she was hiding something.

"Yeah...no one ever said it was a man or a woman. And no one said they had wings either." He said, now he started to remember what he saw and started to look her over again.

"You know something, but why are you so nervous? I'm not going to hurt." He said giving her a warm smile as he moved a slight step forward. "Look, if your willing to talk I'll buy you what ever you want." He said, a lesson he learned was people often took bribes.

"Sir, I'd suggest you to leave." Alois said stepping up behind him. He decided time was time, and since Felicity couldn't get the man to keep his nose down, he was going to do something about it. Even if it was to try and intimidate the man, with keeping his hand on the now revealed sword at his waist. Alois was going to keep his child safe, and to keep Amerald's experiments under the radar.

He watched Felicity look up at him with relief in her eyes. Taking the initiative, he moved around the reporter and closer to his daughter's side. "She doesn't need anything from you, and whatever you've been bugging her about, keep to yourself."

"Sorry."

Alois looked at her for a moment, taking in her apology before he looked back at the man. He wasn't pleased with her, but he also wasn't too thrilled with the man in front of them. Too much nosing around for anybody’s liking, let alone his. "I'd suggest for you to go to a bar and drink your night away, the two of us are leaving...Now."

"H-He said he wasn't going to hurt me."
"Not now," He warned her.

The sudden voice of the man made Jonas turn his head quickly and being closer he could gave him a look over. His dress wasn't guard ware but it wasn't cheap either. It was well traveled too. "Hmm..." Was all he said as he watched him.

All of Alois reactions immediately made him count out a lover. It was much to paternal. "Alright I'll stop bothering her, but you on the other hand don't add up." he said a slight frown on his face.

"You kissed her earlier, it wasn't intimate. Her voice and face is of a grown adult but you don't look all that old yourself. Then their is now, your guarding her like a father, a lover would of hit me by now." he said still studying him.

His eyes judge the two, it was a weird situation. Something just felt horribly out place. "And I wouldn't hurt you." he added as he eyed Alois sword and gave a slight laugh.

"At this distance all I can tackle you to the ground by the time you got that blade halfway out. Lets keep this civilize." He said knowing his own switch blade would be useless. "I been fighting longer then you been alive."

Alois furrowed his brow, unhappy that the man had concluded so much about him already. He shifted once Felicity stepped back, more behind him. He was ready to take him, even if this man said he'd tackle him.

"You might be older than me, but that means nothing," Alois said keeping his hand on his sword. For now, it was just for safety, but being around this man.

"Alois, come on, let’s just go." Felicity offered.

Alois looked at back at his daughter for a moment before he looked at him again. There wasn't any way that Alois could see of them getting out simply and swiftly.
"You are right...She's my daughter... and a daughter needs to be going home, even if she is full grown."

"I see." He said a small smile coming on his face as he looked at him. He didn't need to talk to the guy, just the girl. As he watched them he just shrugged after hearing Alois comment.

"Maybe, but experience can make a difference. Also I could make you a much better sword." He said looking at the sword then backed up himself.

He nodded his head at Felicity, "I understand." He said with a casual shrug. "Never had kids but I can understand your concern. As a token of trust I'll leave you both completly alone...but if you happen to find it on your heart to make a old gentleman happy you could have a discussion with me at the local dinner. I just want a few questions answered."

Suddenly and abruptly he turned on his heel and started to walk away. He whistled a happy tune as he walked away taking note of their direction. Another trick of the guards to get information, make the people think about giving it too you and they probably will.

Felicity blinked a few times, looking at Alois for a moment before she looked back at Jonas. "Alois, what just happened?"

Alois was almost as confused at his daughter. It did catch him offguard, but a part of him was telling him it was a trick. A simple way to get someone to come after him. Still, he was an old man, well older then himself so why was there a need for such hostility.

Felicity reached her hands up, pulling the hood off her head as she moved out from behind Alois. Shaking her head she glared at her father for a moment before looking at Jonas walking off. It was her first time seeing more than just his torso. "Alois! He's an old man! You made me think he was a ***** or a disgusting stalker." she said glaring at him through the corner of her eye.

Alois reached from his side and grabbed her hood, yanking it up and over her head. He held it down, making her bend over for a second before letting go. "Trust no one, I told you that Felicity. He might be old, but that means nothing. Even the eldest of people are sly."

"Sly?! He's an old man! Old people aren't sly, or slick, or cunning, or anything! They are kind! He might've just wanted to know about hraapeas so he could have a kid. You heard him. He never had a kid, and you have me. I remember you told me you never thought you would have a kid." Felicity said crossing her arms, looking up at Alois.

"Felicity!" Alois said abruptly. "I have a job to do, and that is to keep you safe, and you're making it difficult. Now just stop talking and ke--"

Felicity didn't heed Alois' words, instead she was quick on her feet and reached at his side, pulling out his sword. With a quick sidestep she dodged her father's grasp and took off towards the reporter from before. "Sir, would you mind looking at my father's sword? He's hard on it, and its got chips in it." she said holding it up slightly.

Jonas hadn't walked too far before pulling out his notepad and wrote down the information that she had admitted to him. It was the less stupid things he got. Although the fact she said wings made him think back to that feather he thought he saw.

He could only catch parts of the conversation as he walked away, her father was right. Jonas was dangerous, but he only saved that for extreme moments, this wasn't one of them.

As he turned around surprise to hear the sudden sound of running. He tensed up waiting for her to try and attack but she stopped and showed him the sword.

"...Ofcourse." He said finally after a pause and grasped. Winning her trust was even better.

He looked it over for a moment and did the usual battle checks for it. A quick spin; a fast jab, and a slice and a few scratches at the chips and he had his diagnostics. "Well...the blade is still well formed. Although a few of the cracks are almost deep enough to the core. Hit the wrong type of armor and you'll be in a lot of trouble. I could easily fix this back in my shop in Aerr." He said giving it one last spin.

"Fine blade but the damage will ware on it. Also you should sharpen it, it's starting to get dull." He spoke with a professional air but still had a warm feeling from it.

Finally giving a skill full twirl so the handle was so she grab it without worrying about the blade. "I can have a look at his dagger too." He said giving a warm smile.

Felicity has moved back when he swung the sword around. She was worried about behind hit, but she felt Alois come up behind her. "He said he could fix it," she said, with a warm smile. "We can go to Aerr, right?"

Alois shook his head, he reached out past her and grabbed the handle of the sword. He carefully made sure he didn't touch the cloth around her head.
"We aren't going anywhere," he said looking at her before looked at Jonas. Slowly he placed the sword back in its sheath at his waist. "You wanted to go, let’s get going" he said looking down at his daughter.

"I'm not leaving until you get your sword fixed," she said glaring at him. "You need it." she added before turning around to grab the hilt.

A hand reached out, grabbing her wrist, and a glare paired along with it. She finally stopped her little antics, and just stared at him, getting the point for now. A little plan was brewing, and whether or not it was for the good of hraapea or not she was going to do it. Shifting slightly, she yanked her arm away from her father's grip.

"Fine," Felicity mumbled, turning around to look at Jonas once more. Raising her head up, she looked at his face for a moment before she glanced out the corner of her eye, at the hood, but in reference to Alois. "He would like a new sword, and he won't take a no for an answer."

A hand whipped out, grabbing a hold of one of the covered wings and tugged it back, pulling her back into place. She yelped and spun on her heels. "What was that for?!" she asked with a hint of pain in her voice.
