Dusk was quickly approaching and Tori couldn't have been more pleased. She pushed the hood of her travelers cloak back to expose her face. There was a nice breeze blowing but it had been to risky during the day to give into that whim to feel it upon her skin. She stood at the end of the pier and gazed longingly out at the open sea and setting sun.
She was again feeling emotionally empty. She wanted comfort. Something that recently had become a fleeting thing. Humans were simply toys and game at least for now...

Booted feet hit against the wood of the pier as he moved forward. The disposable camera hung on a slender wrist as he focused mostly on the sunset. He had been struck by an urge or rather a whim to take a picture of the sunset and so he bought a disposable camera from the local pharmacy that had a booth where they developed images and then made his way to the beach. Quint had wanted to do this for a long time now but up until this evening he wasn't so driven to do it.
He slowed his step as he stared at the other figure standing upon the pier and frowned a bit, it hadn't meant to be a picture to include anyone. It was supposed to just be the sunset and the water from the viewpoint of the pier.
Quint moved slowly closer and gazed at the figure from the window of the camera.

It was a combination of sound and smell that caused Tori to turn around. She had known that she came along and at that time the pier was empty. Now someone else had come to the pier. It was public property and wasn't like she could tell them to go away so she could continue to be a solitude that she really didn't want to be in. She felt it was time to leave.
She stood there for a second to take in the male. That soft gray skin, brilliant blue eyes, and silver gray hair made her think of someone she'd met once. Noticing that this person was far older she decided to conclude that it couldn't possibly be the same person.
About half way back up the pier she realize the person was holding a camera. Wanting to be courteous she quickened her pace so that she could get out of his way and he could take a picture of what ever it was that he came to take. "Excuse me," she whispered just before passing him.

He watched her through the window of the camera and then as she noticed him and then was about to leave he paused a moment and was almost ready to let her go but it seemed like she was off somehow that he couldn't quite put his finger on. He recognized her; there was no mistaking her especially when he managed to glimpse her face. True her name was escaping him at this juncture but he had never been too fantastic with names especially when the name of the person had given him more than just a little bit of unease he wanted to quickly forget her but he still recognized her face. The attempt at forgetting was only half successful.
Quint lowered the camera and watched back at her, "Would think you'd be tryin' to hang on me again," he said in his usual blunt manner.

Tori was only a couple steps from him when he spoke. She stopped and remained oddly still. She revisited the thought of him being some she knew... after all that would be something frank for a stranger to say. It was possible that the boy she once knew had grown like her, and that would explain the change in voice.
She spun in step everything flowing enchantingly with her. "Shark Boy," she whispered so softly it was barely audible to a pair of human ears. "You didn't like that sort of thing the last time we met. Then again you were extremely interested in that damn shark. But, I'm all for second chances," she smirked and flashed a set of fangs.

He let the camera hang off his wrist on the lanyard and just shrugged at her in response, "That so? You tell that to all the guys?" Quint at least was more prepared and not so nervous anymore, at least not like he was back then. He had more control over himself and it wasn't going to end up in blood and tears ... Hopefully.
"Got some fancy new fangs I see," he observed quietly and made no effort to note her other features just her teeth. It seemed like one of the better things to note. He shifted his stance a little.
Quint thumbed his nose a bit before he spoke again, "Besides, don't you hang with my brother?"

Tori rolled her shoulders at the comment of how she treated people. Better to be quiet about that than open... she wasn't sure how well Quint would take it if she told the truth.
"They came with a heavy price," she finally said after a moment of thought. She couldn't avoid them now that he had noticed. "Your set of teeth is pretty impressive. I'm fairly sure you could chomp right through steel with those," she winked.
She was about to step forward and lean against him until he mentioned something about a brother and it was obvious that she knew this brother. She knew a couple of boys and none of them looked anything like him. "I don't know who your brother is. Even if I did I am my own person. No one owns me."

"Heh, seems everyone likes the s**t they can get at a heavy price," replied and shifted his shoulders at her observation. Maybe he could and maybe he couldn't. He reached up a hand and scratched at his jaw and watched her curiously as she reacted to his words and gave a short laugh. "Figured he would'a bitched about me to you by now. Then again Kay is a bit of an airhead sometimes," he said dismissively.
Quint shifted his shoulders a bit, "Either way," he said in the same dismissive manner. He wasn't going to do anything with her that his brother may or may not have done with her. It felt wrong to do something like that. If she needed a friend he'd ... try to be a friend. Help her with things but beyond that he wasn't going to allow.

"I really didn't put much thought into it at the time of agreement. I'll pay for it the rest of my life, or well everyone else will," she giggled. It was a little creepy considering the lack of moral values behind it.
"We'll now that you've told me who your brother is what he once said is starting to make a lot more sense," she smirked. "You'll have to show me just what those jaws of yours can do sometime," she clapped her hands together and rocked back and forth on her heels.
Tori licked her lips and made a mmmm sound as she took a step forward to put her really close to Quint. "So tell me... Is there a man in there to match the voice change or are you still that scared little boy?" The further she got into the sentence the closer her lips were to his ears.

He raised an eyebrow, "Careful with that. Sometimes the price you make others pay doubles your own," he responded. It was pretty much a warning about karma as much as anything else. One can't always get off without repaying a piper.
"Oh hell what'd he tell you now?" Quint sighed a little as he reached up and rubbed the back of his neck. Kay talking about him never really seemed to bode well even if it was good things. "Heh, maybe, one day," he said in a noncommittal tone.
Quint's eyebrow twitched a bit at her closeness as he reached up a hand to keep her at least somewhat at bay, "Depends on what you define a man," he replied though in no way sensual. His voice was quiet, deadpan, and lacking passion.

"I hunt what hunts me," she said simply enough. "And, if that isn't available then there are plenty of criminals and filth to snack on," she chuckled. It was the most she had revealed thus far that could connect to her fangs.
"Nothing really much at all. He just mentioned that you were the cause of a few scars," her voice was very nonchalant. "I'm sure though that he's given you a few as well. Tit for Tat," she winked.
With the raise of the hand she took a step back. She was starting to think that he was still that clueless little boy she had last encountered. "How about you snap that photo and then show me a good time... When the evening is over I'll let you know if your man enough in my opinion." She rocked back and forth on her heels as if she was that innocent little girl she'd been a while back. "If cash is the problem I don't mind paying. I won't count it against you," she winked.

"I see," he responded quietly. Quint seemingly got the hints and it didn't really matter to him in the slightest. Victoria was Victoria and there was nothing that changed that for him.
"Heh, I guess. It was more that damn head-snake that pegged me than anything else," Quint responded and then shifted a sleeve to show a tattoo, "and then somehow he talked me into getting this. Don't ask how it happened just know that it took a lot of talking, considering I was much younger." He let the sleeve drop and said, "Other than that? Mostly bruises."
There was a pause for a moment as he took that in then he nodded and wandered further away from her and snapped a picture that he was planning to take albeit a bit late. Beggers can't be choosers he supposed. Then again the sky had a lot more interesting colors now so maybe it wasn't all so bad, "It's fine. Just don't expect me to take you anywhere with a five-star rating."

Those two small words told Tori that Quint had all the information that he needed and there wasn't any point in continuing. It was obvious to her now that he didn't care on way or another. She felt a bit more at ease knowing this.
"Nahual has gotten me a time or two," she chuckled. "My fault though. Putting my hands were they didn't belong," she winked. "I don't hold it against him. After all what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger."
"Siblings have strong ties," she said with a nod of her. She knew probably better than most. After all she had more than a handful herself. After that said she stood there silent for the moments he was taking the picture. She didn't want to distract him.
"Don't worry I don't eat much," she grinned and locked her arm with his. "I am sure you have to have a favorite place to eat. We should eat there." She motioned for him to lead the way.

"Glorified Worm with fangs and feathers more like it," Quint muttered lowly. He nodded his head in agreement he supposed that statement was true enough. He wasn't dead yet and he intended to stay very much alive despite all odds that might or might not be against him. Quint paused at her mention at siblings having strong ties and nodded a bit, "Yeah I guess that's true..." though he was much closer to Tek than he was to Kay in some regards.
He took the picture once he was left just long enough to do so. There was no real telling if the picture came out how he wanted to but that mattered little. Once he was done le let the camera drape down against his hand on its lanyard and blinked a bit as she locked her arm with his.
...Okay so he wasn't going to bite her but he still wasn't used to such close contact. He nodded a bit, "Gen & Erick's Steakhouse it is," Quint said as he began to lead the way.

Steak houses served rare meat and that really set well with Tori. It wouldn't have a while back but now. "Fantastic." The grin she wore was a bit on the devilish side of things and showed her fangs well.
"What is your favorite cut of beef?" She was aiming to keep the conversation going.
