Same old, same old. Another day had passed by as a new one began to rise. The black tribal mare sighed as she found herself alone once more, still on her never-ending journey. But to where? She was quite fond of her solitude, although lonely at times, and it wasn't like there was any place to go back to. And based on her knowledge, there was nowhere she could really go to. These were confusing times indeed...
It felt weird to feel this way. She was used to giving others advice when they needed help, but she never really felt it herself. At least, not for a very long time. The mare stood still, looking up thoughtfully at the sky. Is there anything more to life than my blessed freedom? There just had to be.

A new land held new promises. At least, that's what the half-breed stallion had hoped. But, in the Kawani lands, it all seemed the same though not as blatantly obvious. Those who were different or feared, were shied away from, frowned upon or rarely, even exiled... much like himself.
Now, it wasn't all that bad either. Shortly after entering the new lands, he met Hitomi, a scaled ferret and the two became good friends. Later, because of certain events, he started his own small group of fellow outcasts, as well as an alliance with a larger herd. So some things worked out... but, they still needed a land of their own.
Once again, Rinji ventured ahead of his herd as they rested. Even though there were Scouters among the members, he still enjoyed doing it himself. Coming to a clearing, his duel colored eyes scanned the area around him. That was when he spotted the lone figure standing there. With a curious tilt of his head, he had to wonder if he was interrupting something.

(( Oh...my...gosh...I am SO sorry for the ridiculously long delay! my unexpected hiatus took longer than I expected, and I sincerely apologize for it! crying ))
Kismet was so fixated on her own thoughts, that it took her a few moments before she felt a pair of eyes watching her from a distance. She was used to this feeling every once in a while, being that a lone figure usually attracted that kind of attention, but did not rush to turn around to see who they belonged to. She hesitated, taking in a few deep breaths to steady her heartbeat, before turning her neck towards the source of the staring eyes. She was surprised to see what had met her own eyes; a Soquili that had odd horns and a blue mane that stood out against his dark brown coat. What was even odder was that he had scales like a kirin, making her wonder about his heritage. No matter what he was, she could really care less. She noticed the confused look upon his face and yielded him a warm, relaxed smile.
"Hello there," she began, keeping her voice at its usual relaxed tone. "Is there something I could help you with?" Perhaps he was a fellow traveler, strange to the territory they stood in now. She was always willing to help a creature in need, and it had been a week or two since she had even seen another Soquili.

The half-breed continued to watch the mare silently as she slowly turned around to glance at him. When she smiled at him, he bowed his head respectfully. The stallion wasn't much for showing emotion. It was a learned trait from being hurt constantly before. Not wanting to risk it again, he kept his emotions in check, but just because he did not show them, did not mean he still didn't feel. Despite this, he still tried to be respectful to others who come across him.
"Greetings," he replied with a small flick of his short tail. At her question, he shook his head. "No, but thank you for offering. I am just taking a small stroll while the others rest near by." He explained to her.

Kismet flicked her ear when she picked up on the stallion saying "..the others rest near by". Were there other horses spending time in this area, too, without her noticing them? They must've came by decently recently, since she had spent the last few weeks taking a break from traveling to relax in this calming environment. Since he mentioned these others as members of his party, they must not be too harmful, being that her first impression of this stallion was that he was respectful. He did seem a bit reserved about something, as she sensed it within her heart, but she was a very trusting mare and knew to still keep her defenses up within her. "Others, you say? You mean, like your family or herd?" She questioned curiously. "I haven't seen many horses in a groups in this area yet, so it just surprises me a bit. Then again, I've only seen a group pretty up close only once or twice in my lifetime, so I may not have noticed your presence. You are most welcome for my offer, as well!" She sent another brief smile back in his direction, trying to loosen the traveler up a little bit. Although she knew not everyone relaxed with a gentle smile, she still liked to show kindness to all, especially strangers. It was always good to leave a good impression!
"I apologize if I am being nosy or rude with my questions, but would you mind if I asked for your name, sir? I go by the name Kismet; it's a pleasure to meet you!"

The mare did not seemed trouble at the mention of his herd, that is a good thing. He did not wish to move the herd again, unless he truly had to. With a herd that wanders like his, they seem to come and go, most of the time without anyone noticing, as Rinji preferred. But, every once in awhile, the group - though small- still need the time to stop and rest.
At her question, he nodded gently. "It is my herd, yes." He answered. In all honesty, he did not wish to start up a herd when he was exiled to these lands, but it came to be. It seems that those of like minds gather together, or surely, that was the case with the collection of soquili he now leads. They all seem to share a common fact, they were all outcasted for some reason or another. If they are not welcome elsewhere, they were surely welcomed here. "I do not know much of these lands, but I would believe herds would not be in much quantity, so it would explain your lack of seeing many groups." He answered softly, giving her just a small, short smile when she had flashed one to himself.
He shook his head. "It is fine, one would have never learned without asking questions. I do not mind at all Miss Kismet, I am Rinji. It is nice making your acquaintance."

"Ah, so I see. That would make perfect sense, in that case," she replied gently, her words leaving her throat lavished in honey. So far, this was genuinely interesting to her, especially to learn of such a herd in a place where herds seldom seemed to visit. "Would it be alright if I were to ask what kinds of horses make up your herd? And it's my pleasure; I'm happy to meet your acquaintance as well. You have such lovely manners, it's very refreshing to hear such words." She was feeling a little bit socially awkward for an odd reason, leaving her hesitant for several moments, even causing her to monetarily avert her eyes. Oh, she was ever the curious soul to find out more about living in a herd, and about this kind gentleman's herd, for her ever long search for knowledge was apart of discovering such facts. She had never lived in a herd and only knew about them from what stray wanderers had decided to share with her, so such a thing was still vaguely new to her. "I apologize; my endless questions must be such a bother for you to deal with. You are already being kind enough to me by gracing me with such a polite conversation, I would not wish to harass you."

The half-cerynei nodded to her as she made sense of his words. His short tail gave a quick flick as his ears scanned their surroundings for anything out of place. As the Alpha, he had to protect his herd. So, even when his herd was not nearby, it was still instinct to make sure him and anyone who was with him was safe. But then again, that was a trait he had before the herd had formed, otherwise, the herd would not have formed in the first place.
Speaking of his herd, the mare before him just questioned him about it. When she had apologized, he shook his head at her. "Do not apologize, I do not mind talking to you about my herd at all." He comforted, bowing his head to her in thanks when she had complimented his manners toward her. "My herd is called the Udehosidi herd. I am afraid that my herd primarily consists of those that others do not wish to be around. Such as outcasts, oddities, and the such. But not all are this way, some are just those who were unfortunate to lose their family or were abandoned by them, whether as a basket or a foal." He explained softly despite his deep voice.

So, there truly was other kind souls similar to herself that existed in this region of the lands, in the world. This was such a peaceful thought to have in her mind, and suddenly the idea of so many others that she didn't know stopping in these lands didn't have that intimidating "after taste" for her. And to hear about such a wonderful thing to do for those who wandered or were abandoned, to give them a sort of family and a sense of home of which he was offering, showed just how much of a paragon's path this gentle soul was leading down. Sure, Kismet constantly helped others along with their day, as well as assisted them with traveling down their own life's path, but never could she have the capability [or so she believed] to create a herd or a home for others; permanently, at least, for she could easily find a place to stay or give desired company to those who needed a temporary location to reside. What a noble thing for this stallion to do! It only further satisfied her as he went into detail about the backgrounds of those who traveled and lived among him. To her, at least, it sounded like it could be a paradise on earth for those in need.
"Ah, that sound's like a wonderful name for a herd! I am also grateful that you would be so open to talk about such a personal matter as a herd, and I am grateful for such wonderful manners, yet again," she spoke to him in her gentle, calming voice, for some odd reason feeling totally at ease conversing with him. She gazed deeply into his eyes, reading and sensing that he truly was a gentle and humble soul; probably part of the reason why she felt so at ease. "That is a very wonderful thing for you to do for such beings, as well; I always make sure to help others whenever I have the opportunity, but I am afraid I don't have the opportunity to lead or create a group such as your herd. You should be really proud of yourself! I only wish that I could help as large of a group as you do."

"I see no wrong in telling you of my herd. I do not sense that you would do harm to them." Rinji explained simply, shaking his head softly. Briefly, he looked to the sky to judge the time, but it didn't remain there long as his gaze returned to the mare. He listened respectfully as she clamored happily over his task of taking in fellow outcasts into a herd. "Even small deeds as the ones you do yourself are greatly appreciated to our kind, no matter how temporary it may be." He told her gently. Soon, a thought came to mind. "In fact, I could use more assistance in the Udehosidi. If you wish, would you care to join and share your gentle nature and caring gift to the others? It is a small herd now, so you should not be too overwhelmed."

Just as he had politely listened to her miniature rant over how proud she was to hear that this gentleman was doing such a thing, she, once again, gave him her full attention as he stated his opinions delicately and also stated his offer. As his words reached her ears, she flicked them even more forward toward his face and her eyes grew slightly wider, not expecting such a generous and kind offer. But the issue was, could she even accept? She realized that he did mention that even a temporary stay would be acceptable, but wouldn't she feel as if she was taking advantage of his herd? Kismet had not had a "true" home, other than the entire world, since she was a young foal, living alongside her parents and sister. Could she feel loyal to the herd in her heart, yet still roam and be connected entirely to the lands?
She flushed, very grateful and honored by his simple comment about her talents; had he even known about the ones where she could feel the tiny invisible threads that connected each and every creature and life-form? Or even the one where, on occasional and significant times, she could sense the turn of the closest future? Surely he would appreciate such talents more than her inborn kindness, right? "Truly, sir, you are much too kind!" She flashed a coy smile at the stallion, only reflecting the shyness and gratitude that she felt within. "And as much as I would be honored to accept such a generous offer of yours in a split second, I do have some questions I would wish to ask you about living amongst the herd, first. If that is alright, of course," she flicked her eyes shyly down towards the earth for a few short moments as she finished her thought out loud, hoping that she didn't offend Rinji.

When the mare had gone quiet, he did not question it. It was a sudden offer, so the large stallion could understand needing the time to think. It was also come to be expected that she would have questions, so when she asked if it was alright that she did, in fact, had queries, he nodded. "Of course. Ask as many as you need to."
