Kelakohr snorted softly as he cantered out of the final pass from the mountains, glad his breath no longer misted before him. The rocks under-hoof became gravel and then grass, a pleasant change after days of such rough-going. The presence of a forest was also a nice change from the mountains, and yet, he already felt like he was missing them...
It was a peculiarly familiar feeling, the closeness of the mountains. Being surrounded by their cool faces, indifferent sheets of stone, rocks under his hooves and occasionally even overhead. It was a pleasant kind of surprise to go from that black-gray existence to a sudden break where one could see the sun set in all its glory. Or to suddenly find oneself in a field of flowers, startling birds and butterflies into the sky.
He had thought his mother would have enjoyed such sights, while he was passing them. In many ways they were very similar, so the joy he found in the strange foils of the mountains personality was no-doubt similar to the one she had found, at least that was what he guessed. Whistle's disappearance had been sudden, in the middle of a chaotic twist in their lives that had them scattered in all directions. Ballad's departure to find her had been long enough ago that Kel had begun to worry, so now here he was.
"I hope you are safe and well.." He murmured with a shake of his head as he resumed walking, the silver bracelets around his forelegs chiming softly. "I hope you are both safe and well..."
He had a feeling he would find them soon enough, and Kel was always one to listen to his feelings. His parents had thought all of their children that there was something in your soul that told you exactly where you needed to be, and what you needed to know. All one had to do was learn how to listen to it, and believe what it told you.
"I'm listening.." He murmured with a faint smile, something they had all muttered sulkily as foals. "Really."
So with a faint smile and a lighter heart, Kelakohr entered this new land and prepared for whatever he would find.

It had been a clear day, not many clouds about as Nokomis flew over a small mountain area. As she passed over she noticed a glowing male walking down a small passage between the towering mountains. She flew in closer on a ledge and watched him, curious as to see someone this far. ~Maybe he is new here too~, she wondered.

As she watched him he could hear his words faintly carried by the wind. He seems he's traveled, searching for someone. This saddened her a bit, seeing him alone and searching for someone. It reminded her of herself in a way. She then took flight again to go beyond the mountains where she knew there was a calm stream in the near woods. As she left off the small ledge her bell, in her hair, jingled ever so slightly.

She looked back after a bit thinking of that male, she wondered if she'd be able to help him in his search. She could have a sky view to help. She drank from the stream and debated on finding the male and seeing if she'd be able to help. Her bell slightly jingled as her head moved from the stream as she thought "I don't want to be too forward, how would I act if a complete stranger approached me in the situation?" she thought about it and chuckled at herself, "I'd welcome them, but that's me. Not everyone takes kindly to strangers". She sighed and laid by the stream, her bell jingling even more at the harsher movement, as she tried to really think about what she should do.

Kelakohr continued to pace along, no tension showing in his muscled form. The feeling of being watched was a rather singular one, though he saw no reason to react in a way that would alarm the watcher. He had no idea who he -or she- was, but as they hadn't attacked yet, he didn't feel threatened. Though he remained alert to the possibility of attack, for the moment he concentrated on his surroundings.
As a foal he and his siblings had designed games of tracking each other on their various exploits, elaborate variations of normal favorites such as hide-and-seek-, tag, and others. The skills learned served them in good stead as young adults and even now, and when they went on 'adventures' they often left clues so they could be tracked if there was a need. Finding a likely tree, Kel paced around it once or twice, eyeing the twisting roots and gnarled trunk. This oak was old, and had seen many things in its time. Bowing slightly to it, Kel then found a spot near the base of the trunk and pressed his horn to the bark, carving a marker like the one on his cheek. If Cas or any of his sisters came along this way, they would recognize it for what it was.
"I hope it doesn't come to that." He murmured, tapping the tree with his tail. "But if it does, guide them well..."
He moved along into the woods, altering his course at the sound of laughing water. That was a pleasant idea, he rumbled approvingly. A good long drink and maybe a wade to refresh his spirit, and then he would continue on a little. Drawing nearer to the water, Kel frowned to himself and paused. Had he just heard the sound of bells?
"Is that possible?" He questioned with a shrug, and then moved forward with intent. "Well, let's find out then.. Hello? Is anyone there?"

Nokomis laid there, still unsure of what to do. Her bells jingled again as a light breeze blew by. She let the wind whisper to her. ~Someone's coming, maybe it's that male from before~, she wandered as the wind died. She got up and looked in the water at her own reflection, for reasons unknown and a tear fell in the stream.

Her attention was soon diverted as she heard a voice, not so distant. Unsure if she should reply so she walked away from the stream in the direction the voice came from, bells lightly jingling. She circled a few trees and then took back to the skies and hoovered over the tree tops and found one to perch on and look around.

Then she saw him, it was the male from before. She shook her hair from her face causing her bells to ring quite a bit. She then descended back to the forest floor, hoping not to startle him. She landed in front of him with a gentle smile.

Hooves were silent as he trod over the thick carpet of grass, the feathers of his feet whispering as he paced along. Again he thought fondly of the mountains, the soft chime of each step had made the trek more a dance than anything else... And Kelakohr's family was well-known for their love of music.
He could smell water ahead, the thought of a refreshing drink made his ears perk, even as he wondered. There had been someone around, so why not answer his greeting? That was rude, and his mother had raised him with manners. Trying not to be irritated by the fact that he seemed to have been brushed off, his chin jerked upright and he pranced backwards just as a winged mare appeared.
After all that she said nothing, so he stood staring at her for a moment or two before his train of thought returned. "Hello?" It came out more question than greeting, so he cleared his throat and shifted slightly.

Nokomis bowed her head as the male spoke and returned his gaze in turn, "Hello, I do apologize for before. I heard your voice on the wind, but was unsure of where it came from, so I looked and found it was you. I do apologize for my manners. My name is Nokomis. I saw you before as I was passing over the mountains." She had a gentleness and caring tone are she spoke.

She looked him over, he seemed to have journeyed a long way in search of something...this she could relate too... Her eyes showed a hint of sorrow as she looked over him, she thought of her own journey except she didn't know what she was searching for. She looked back to him and smiled as she bowed her head slightly before speaking again. "Forgive my rudeness, but you seem to be searching for something. I can tell you've journeyed a long way. I have also been traveling...searching. I've only been in these lands for a short time, but maybe I can help you in some way.", she spoke with sincerity truly wanting to help others, it may someone help her with her own journey as well.

His ears pitched to catch the sound of her voice, a tone that was gentle and pleasing to hear. "Ah, no reason for apologies then. I am sorry if I startled you, Lady Nokomis. I'm Kelakohr, and yes I did just recently leave the mountains... I thought I sensed another in the area, but it didn't occur to me to look to the air."
He smiled and shifted on his hooves slightly, ducking his head and making a slight joke at his own expense. "Does it show? I hope my appearance didn't give you a fright as well."
Planting his hooves and stretching slightly from nose to tail, he nodded. "I am quite new to this land, and I come seeking my parents who I hope have been reunited. A great many disasters wracked our former home, resulting in the loss of my mother. When things were well enough, my father went after her... But enough time has passed that I am now concerned, and so I am here also, seeking them both."
He glanced at her wings, thoughts running through his head. He wouldn't ask her to search, of course, but perhaps if she had already seen? There was no harm in asking...
"I would not ask anything of a lady, being a gentleman, it would be rude. But, if by chance, you have seen a mare with markings like myself? I am very near identical to my dam, but for her markings are the same color as her eyes, and no horn marks her brow. Her tail is black and silver, long and silken, and she answers to the name of Whistle. Have you seen her?"
He paced a slight circle, feeling better if he kept moving for the moment. "My father is the color of the sky mixed with slight hue of storm-clouds and a touch of the cornflower. He too has these markings, though his are white and his eyes glow silver. He calls himself Ballad." He stopped i his pacing. "Both bear wings upon their back, but like mine and not yours... I should think they are together after all this time, but if you've only seen one, it would be a great relief."
