Dark Tournament style FTW

Basic coliseum setup, a round arena raised off of the ground made of solid Adamantium, which spans a good hundred meters in diameter. Surrounding said indestructible platform is open ground, starting with simple grass and expanding to the surrounding trees until reaching, at near a half mile distance, upward climbing sheer cliffs.

Rules are as follows;

- First off, the rules that are already posted in the main sub forum.

- Any character who touches the ground outside of the ring for more then a ten second count, or equivalent three posts (real loose on the ten count ain't it?), will be disqualified from the match. This is literal Dark Tournament style fighting. So, be aware of where you're at, judges have the right to say your character was out of bounds for to long.

- Have fun, don't godmod, not complaining and leave me the heck alone until your match is finished.

Her opponent had appeared on the battlegrounds before her. It was a fairly wide area, but for Shinigami, this type of area was just small enough for a very fast and furious fight. Shione looked at the tachi that was resting alongside her casually swinging left hand, which gripped the hilt the moment she caught sight of her opponent. As she jumped onto the raised platform she glared at him, her eyes searching around on his body until a smirk cracked her cold, hard gaze. “My, my... are you sure you’re ready?” Shione taunted, sliding her left hand onto the scabbard, bringing her right hand onto the hilt. She began to rapidly tap the hilt of her tachi expectantly with her fingers, still standing about a foot away from the perimeter of the platform she stepped onto. “I hope so, because unfortunately for you, I don’t intend on dragging this fight out with nonsense.” Shione added, not waiting for an answer from her foe. Her right hand clutched at the hilt fiercely, charging down her foe with impressive speed, closing the forty metres of space between them in almost no time at all. Shinigami could move in the blink of an eye compared to humans, so even if this field was nearly four times its current size, a race such as them could cover it in mere seconds without the use of Hoho. Shione had begun to draw her blade, using the diagonally upward unsheathing motion, coupled with the curvature of her tachi, to execute a slash the instant her sword began moving from its scabbard. As much as Shione wanted to end the fight quickly, she hoped that he would at least find a way to, at the very least, not die from her ferocious first attack.

As their weapons met for the first time, the forces tingled in her hand. The sensation of a first hit like that meant that maybe this fight was not going to end so quickly. Of course, Shione was not the type to let that notion stop her from persevering. She held her ground, managing to keep her tachi locked against her opponent’s sword whilst turning the blade tip-side up, staring at him once more. He seemed to display the emotions of someone experiencing boredom, but Shione felt there was something not right with this Shinigami; like he was hiding something. Shione pushed against her opponent’s short sword with a large amount of force, aiming to push him back towards the edge of the arena, but in the meantime used her left hand, which she had hold of her scabbard with, to quickly undo the bow which held the scabbard to her sash. With it undone, Shione clutched her scabbard with a reversed grip to that she used for her tachi, and slammed it at right angles into the tachi’s back edge for extra pushing power.

{{ I spent about four days dossing, and about 10 minutes either side of that writing this. }}

As he moved back, Shione took a step with him, exerting more force to make sure that his movement back became the stepping stone in completely forcing him out of the arena. “Am I ready?” Shione asked in response, still applying pressure with both her tachi and it’s scabbard. Her reiatsu raised impressively, and she took another step, this time her face and body getting extremely close to his. She smirked, “I haven’t decided what I am ready for yet, but don’t let that fool you.” was her final comment before she let her reiatsu spike in potency. She pushed into her opponent with tremendous force, using the leverage she had to further ensure she could push her foe away. As she did so she pursued, lunging out with her tachi whilst bringing it up in an arc to try to impale him on the blade, at the very least, underneath his chin. There was a sinister bloodlust in her eye as her blade neared him; she was going to enjoy this. Very much.

As her tachi nicked him, her bloodlusting eyes sparkled joyously, watching the claret substance drip and trickle from his face. “There we are.” She said, a modicum of satisfaction in her smile. Shione was utterly surprised that her opponent was still so calm, even after her initial onslaught and success in drawing first blood. However, she had felt his reiatsu flare, and he did manage to deflect her blow from something much more serious, after all. It showed he had skill, and the way his reiatsu began to elevate, he had a great degree of power. She lost a second or two as her mesmerised state took hold of her, yet pounced with Zanpakuto and scabbard in hand to stop him from what felt like an unleashing of greater power, possibly a Shikai. She cursed herself as she jolted towards him; cursing herself for giving him possibly enough time to release it before she could reach him. That said, she could not help but wonder if this foe was strong enough, as she had pushed him to release it in not a very long space of time at all.

Shione rushed after him, crossing her arms over her body. Her tachi was resting momentarily on her left shoulder as he held it firmly in her right hand, while the scabbard was held firmly next to her right hip in her left hand. She brought them across her body just a moment after, swinging them in order to catch his blade in a pincer hold, or if her luck was in abundance, catch him in the pincer hold and cut deep into his flesh.

{{ I could've written a lot more, but I didn't want to go into too much detail. Also, technically I still have until 4:08am (GMT time) Aug 19th to post... so this is definitely within the 5-day limit for me. }}

Shione stepped back from her foe, a little skeptical of his approach to combat. He seemed to enjoy running away from the fight, but the recent thrust proved that he had a modicum of offence to display. She had him on the back foot since her first attack, yet he still remained quite carefree. It was most likely an act, either that or he was underestimating her abilities. Shione scoffed at his expression, bringing her tachi and scabbard back in front of her eyes, sheathing the Zanpakuto in the process. “You have no place to give me that look, brat. I’ve been pushing you back since I stepped foot in this tiny excuse of an arena.” She scolded, not waiting for him to reply, almost instinctively replying to a response she would see coming a mile off. “Don’t even try to tell me that you’re holding back, unless the new term for that bullshit is ‘running here, there and everywhere instead of actually fighting back’.” She slyly remarked, her eyes narrowing in disgust.

It was his demeanour; it made her blood boil into a frenzy. The look of others being better than her when they had not truly begun to acknowledge her. It was a look she frequently saw when she was presented in front of the other noble houses, since her noble clan had almost slipped into non-exsistence due to their unfortunate catastrophe hundreds of years ago. To her, this tournament was a place to redeem her family’s name, and to kickstart the new era of Shinigami, as for the first time in the aformentioned length of time, Shione was the first Natsuki to possess enough reiatsu to not only become a Shinigami, but to surpass her late father. She would prove the other clans wrong, and even by becoming a Shinigami, she silenced at least half of them. Aside from her love for a good fight and to get her clan's name re-established, there was another ulterior motive for joining this tournament...

“I have little respect for those that show little power.”

Shione could hardly believe what she was hearing, the blood sizzled in her veins as he stood there, belittling her with his rediculous smile and outlandish comments. No respect for those with little power? Had he been awake this whole fight? She gripped at her tachi, tighter and tighter, her anger working its way to the surface. Her killing intent began to ooze from her pores like a venom secreting from the tooth of a viper. Her body froze, not because of fright, but because the emotions simply overwhelmed her mind so much, that she could hardly think of moving to carry out her murderous volition.

“I also have no respect for those with little patience.”

Shione narrowed her eyes, only thinking of how boring and unlike a true battle this would be if there was patience. To her, having patience was a way to hide behind the fact that someone did not truly comprehend what was meant by power. It was also a way to evaluate strength and to expose weak point in the enemy, but to actively seek out a foe and engaging them in as much combat as possible; that was also a method to the same conclusions. Was this man afraid to use his power? He implied that he certainly had power, but so far all he showed in substance was the ability to evade without a means of counterattacking. All he could muster were words, not actions, to announce that he had power. To Shione, he knew nothing.

“b***h. Why are you not letting me at this jerk-off? Why do you not release me, so I can cleave his arms off?” Came the questions from a soul within her. It was her Zanpakuto spirit communing with her within her mind, ringing clear in the crackling of the frightful black inferno encompassing her thoughts. “This little s**t needs to be dealt with my way!” Shione’s voice snapped back in her conscience, the resulting outburst nearly manifesting into spoken words. “There’s no way in hell that I need you to get involved.” She added, retorting at the dark-skinned, white-winged man she could visualise in her mind’s eye. The man gave her a stern look, “You do have the ability to sense reiatsu, right? You aren’t so blinded by your own idiocy to realise that he’s got some serious power, right?” He asked.

Shione stayed quiet for a moment. “And? What does that matter?” She replied, not wanting to give her Zanpakuto the pleasure of hearing her admit that he was right. The dark man smirked to himself. “At least I understand why you failed the Academy so many times...” he scoffed, Shione wincing at his comment. “Anyway, the point is that he is goading you into releasing first, because it gives him the edge in mind games, or so he thinks.” He spirit explained, a glint in his eye. “Of course, even you know that with my underlying abilities and your way of combat, it won’t be long until even the minds games properly begin.”

Shione sighed. As abhorred as his words were to her, she could see the pathway of his assumption. It was not just because he detested this person as much as she did for underestimating her, but also because he was trying to make her press the foe harder by releasing Shikai, and continuing her onslaught until he finally decided to retaliate with a release of his own, one that he seemed to want to introduce a few moments earlier. By then, he would be at a level where her Shikai would prove more than a match. “Fine, you win.” She said aloud whilst closing her eyes. A devilish smile returned to her face, as she looked at the Shinigami in front of her once more. She unsheathed her tachi once more, holding the scabbard freely in her left hand, before holding it just an inch over the blade. She was now in a wide stance with the tachi and sheath held across her chest at arm’s length, her smile widening as she shuffled her left hand so that her hands were at opposite ends of the Zanpakuto.

“And do you know what I have little respect for?” Shione replied to her opponent, tightening her grasp. “I have little respect... for that pathetic facade!” She hollered. Her voice rose to deafening levels as she spoke, before a grand spiral of purple reiatsu enveloped her, as she prepared for something astonishing. The spiralling aura faded for a moment, enough time for Shione to utter something else; a mutter, and nothing more. “Rend flesh and bone from the body.”

The reiatsu, which had already enveloped her before, returned as quickly as it faded. The command ushered in a new level of power, one that neither combatant had shown before in this battle. Streaks of violet reiatsu rose like a flame around Shione, as her Zanpakuto glowed brightly with passion. It was taking a new shape, but before either of them could see it for themselves, the glow sent out a burst of light that engulfed the entire arena. By the time it faded, Shione had completed the release, though her reiatsu was still flaring madly around her. There she stood, with the Zanpakuto’s hilt in her right hand. However, a thick, silver chain had now taken form from the rest of the tachi and scabbard, and trailed on the adamantium field in loops. At the end of the chainlink trail, there was a rather large set of twin scythes attached to either side of a metal grip, which Shione held in her left hand. “Baizou Tsume no Fukurou.” She growled, for that was her Shikai's name. A name her foe would soon remember for eternity.
