Adela had been in bliss all the time she had been getting to spend with rock. Still able to stop and blush when stray thoughts drifted through her mind. Much like now where she had stopped gathering fruit and was just blushing, the thought popping into her head that they were like a real mated couple. Giggling and feeling idiotic, but she felt loved, and she loved Rock, had for a long time but now she could let it out and it felt wonderful.Little did his beloved know, he also often stopped to find himself thinking of her. his dark coat just barely covering his red cheeks. He was healthier since the day Addy had found him. he was smiling, eating, sleeping, even singing again like never before. Something in him had been reborn, and he knew it was all because of her. Adela made him feel like the happiest stallion in the world. Trotting happily along, bringing the food back, still staying in Cael's cave, keeping it neat while they stay there. Cheerfully humming as she delivers the last of the days food, having enough for today and the next morning, enjoying her self appointed task of food finder. Looking round and wondering where Rock was, thinking he must have gone for a walk, his ankle better than it had been. Heading to the water thinking she would cool off with a swim, still humming away.Walking slowly through the morning forest, filling his lungs with the crisp air and his ears with the songs of animals and nature. Rockstar smiled brightly to himself as he hummed a song he had sung for Addy that very morning to wake her up. Something in him still felt as though everything that had happened, and was happening, between them was a dream. The most blissful dream. But every time he saw her, heard her, felt her lips against his, he knew it was real. No mindfilled fantasy could feel like that. He suddenly spied a beautiful bush of wild roses and beamed with an idea. Charging into the cool water with a squeal of delight she frolicked like a foal for a little while. Her long hair pooling on the waters surface when she was done, soaked but clean and cool she sighed and closed her eyes. Things had been so perfect that she had forgotten about Ab and home for the time being, but it would come back to her soon enough that he would be worried. Dipping under the water again and just feeling light as she feels the lapping pull against her.Rock stepped over a few bushes to find the source of the splashing which had brought him back to the river in front of their cave. He froze when he saw Adela splashing in it with pure joy and he quickly jumped down to remain out of sight. He watched her with unblinking eyes as her face relaxed and the water played with her long, beautiful hair. He couldn't help but blush as he watched her with gentle eyes. he loved her. he really and truly loved her. He silently shifted out into the open and watched her even more closely with a smile on his face for when she finally noticed him. Not sure how long had passed while she had fun and stayed cool, but finally she opened her eyes and started out of the water. Stopping and blushing as she sees Rock watching her, smiling though a little more shyly now she gave herself a little shake to dry off a little before walking over to him, greeting him with a soft kiss. "I missed you.."Rock laughed and blushed a light pink. loving how shy she could be. How soft. "Yeah? i missed you too." Then her returned her kiss and reached behind his back to relieve a small boquet of wild roses and some other small white flowers. "I missed you a lot." He laughed as he offered them to her. "Oh.." Giving a small delighted gasp as the flowers were offered to her, she had never been given flowers before. "Oh... Oh Rock, they are beautiful!" Leaning close and taking a long sniff of the sweet scented blooms before carefully taking them, she needed to find a special place for them where they would get some water. Her eyes gleaming at him softly, shining full of her love."Though unfortunetly they can only dull in comparison to your smiling face." he said with a big smile and licked her right cheek. Standing up and standing right next to her, shoulders just nearly touching. He could even see the stray droplets of water clinging to her fair lashes and a few strand of her mane sticking to the moisture of her face. Blushing more, giving him a shy little nudge as she starts walking back to the cave with her flowers. Her eyes glancing back, beckoning him to follow as she walked slowly. The summer sun drying her off quickly.He did just as her sweet eyes commanded and whistled to them both as he slowly skipped behind her like a foal behind its mother. When they went back into their safe little cave, that had been the place of dreams-come-true for the past few days, he slinked his neck around her and whispered into the soft ear. "You are you my little mermaid?" Putting her roses down carefully on the edge of a small puddle, smiling as he hugged her. Lifting her head and nuzzling him. "I have the wrong kind of tail to be a mermaid." Giggling softly and giving his cheek a playful lick."I think your perfect for the roll." he giggled and watched as the ripples created by her flowers slowly faded away. "I remember when we went to the beach one winter. That was a fun time." Nodding, smiling. "Yes we ate the snow and it turned to water.." That having been the last time she saw him before the foals arrived. Biting her lip, her smile fading a little bit, resting her head on his shoulder... Dwelling on the past would not help either of them, but still she had questions she would need to ask at some point. Just not today, let her have a little more time in this dream.Oblivious to the sudden dark memory that played in Addy's eyes Rock continued on remembering. "We jumped around in the piles of snow too!" He laughed, remember the cold but how it had not bothered him. Nodding, letting her smile return as she looks up at him. "I think my nose was numb for a week after that." It having been fun, but then that's the kind of fun that they seemed to always find themselves in. "Lets do it again when the snow comes back"Rock nodded enthusiastically. "Without a doubt." Then he softly kissed her nose and smiled gently. The right corner of his lips slightly raised. It was a special smile, one only she could have. "We will have to take care of your nose more though." Quirking a brow at him. "How will we do that?" Chuckling at some of the ideas that popped to mind, though none of them were practical."We will make you a nose hat." he declared. Laughing softly and kissing his cheek. "If you know how to make one then please doRock smiled tenderly. "We will figure something out!" he started thinking of all the possible ways he could make it happen. There were not that many, Addy chuckled and nudged him. "Your crazy, but your cute." Kissing him softly, loving that she was free to do so, kissing Rock came with the best giddy feeling.Rock smiled and returned her affectionate touch but grazing his nose against her own. "I think you win though. Your adorable." he said as he saw the white patch on her nose start to turn pink. Addy blushes and giggles, snuggling close to him. "Maybe we can talk Ab out of giving up his blanket, though in the winter that would be hard.." Giggling again knowing how grumpy Ab was when it got cold."Speaking of Ab," he added in after a fit of laughter, "I haven't talked to him in a long while. How has he been?" Looking up and smiling. "Fine as soon as the 'vile white stuff' went away and it got warmer. I swear he needs to hibernate in the winter it doesn't suit him at all." Laughing softly, looking a little sad. "He's probably wondering where I've gone off to..""DO you want to visit him?" A sad pang ran round his heart at the thought of her leaving. But Ab was like her father, the most important male figure in her life. He would understand if she chose to visit him for awhile, even go back. "if he is worrying about you, which i am sure he is, you should go." "Will you come too?...." Looking up at him, not wanted to be parted from him, seeming a little afraid that if she left gim for long he would disappear again.The small splinter of sadness that had wedged itself inside him suddenly disappeared and he beamed at the suggestion. "I would love to!" he didn't think he could bare being apart from her right now and he was also now thinking of how much he had missed Ab. Addy grinned. "Then lets go and see him and find some cherries on the way, he loves cherries." Nuzzling against his side before dancing round him a little, totally dry now, giggling as she dances with little bounces to the door.Rock smiled and nuzzled her lovingly. "First thing tomorrow morning, yes?" And then he knelt down and started to eat the delicious food Addy had brought for the both of them. He hoped they could spend the rest of the day together happily and be ready for their journey tomorrow. Nodding and smiling, looking at her puddle where she had put her roses, picking up a bit of tree bark and trotting off to get them some more water, the little puddle a little too shallow. Filling it up after a few trips and laying down in the sun and gazing at her roses. "I wonder how you could get roses to grow in a specific place..."Rock blinked and then also began to think on that note. He remembered his mother had actually managed to have her own garden just for herself when he still lived with his parents. He also knew that two-leggers dug holes and put little rocks in them and then covered them up again. Looking over at him smiling. "Maybe one day we will find ourselves a gave, or a place that's our home and I can find out how to have roses by the entrance..." Smiling at the thought of having Rocks roses there.Rock blushed intensely as she said the words "our home". "yeah." He whispered and then gave a few quick nods. "I would love that! And it would look so pretty." he smiled as his thoughts ran wild with thoughts of them together as proper mates. Smiling at him her eyes dreamy. "Somewhere Ab will come visit and Sel... All our friends, and there will be roses and an apple tree too." Lost in her daydream, not realising she was describing it out loud."And a small river flowing near?" He asked with a gentle smile. Enjoying the daydream just as much as she was. Seeing it clearly in front of him. Nodding. "A small river... and we will dig a little stream to make a tiny lake by the flowers that we grow, just a little one that reflects the moon at night and sparkles with the sun...Rock shook his head in sheer delight. The scene before the two of them seemed all too perfect. Neither were willing to snap out of it. "During the night we can sit together and listen to the forest around us, watch the ripples in our small lake." Beaming happily. "And in the spring and summer petals and flowers will fall onto it like soft kisses." Resting her head on her legs looking at the roses againRockstar snuggled close to her and softly rested his head on her head and began to hum. "All our own. Our own piece of heaven." He nipped a stray strand of hair from her perfect face and slowly closed his eyes. Listening to the beat of her heart and her calm breathing. Dosing off, dreaming of this magic place they imagined together, smiling sweetly, dreaming of a home and family with rock, years away, they were both older and much wiserThey both began to fall into the dream land where this fantasy re-appeared for them both. A secret connection in their minds holding them together. And once Rock's blue eyes fluttered open once more it was very early morning. Waking not long after, tilting her head, easily able to see Rock, smiling, it feeling right to start the day to his beloved face. Giving his cheek a soft lick.Rock smiled and closed his eyes as he nuzzled behind her ear softly. "Sleep well dear?" Givign a small nod. "Yes, I had such a happy dream, I might have cried if I hadn't woken you see you.." Smiling and blushing wondering if that sounded silly to him.Rock kissed her very, very softly on the lips and then smiled. "you are adorable. Funny thing is i had a dream too. And I feel the same way with seeing you." His heart swelled with just knowing she was there with him, that he could look into her eyes and see the same feelings reflected as he felt for her. Smiling and nuzzling against his neck, her cheek resting there. "I still have to bite myself sometimes, this seem like such a dream... I've never been this happy before...""How about you just bite me, then we can both make sure again." He laughed and turned his neck so they were facing each other. "morning my sunshine." Lifting her head and resting her forehead to his. "Morning my beloved.." Giving him a soft bite on the neck, not a hard one like she had done last time, this playful and gentle but fulfilling his request all the same.Rockstar couldn't help but giggle as she did so. "Ow!" he cried in soft, mock pain. "Its a fight you want now?" he giggled playfully. "its a fight you will get!" He raised his head and bit and pulled her ear gently. Aggy gave an indignant squeak instead of the giggle she wanted to do, shifting and tackling him gently more falling over him till she lands on his other side on her back laughing at the stupidity. "I surrender you win."Rock laughed as well. "Victory!" he declared and wrapped his neck around her lovingly in a hug. Resting against his side, smiling even after the laughter had faded, looking up at him. "We should eat and go and find Ab..."Rockstar nodded, even though he was slightly unwilling to let her go from his embrace. But he told himself to get a grip and he stood. Rolling over and standing, hugging him preferring to be close to him too but she should at least tell Ab she was ok and not far away so he didn't worry.They ate breakfast quickly and started to get ready to head out in search of Ab. The morning was very new and Rockstar happily walked after Addy as she lead the way. Nibbling on random leaves as they walked.
Gathering some cherries from a tree they passed on the way, seeming to know exactly where she was going, smiling over at Rock, seeming blissfully happy to be out and about with him.
They only exchanged glances, smiles and light conversation as they slowly treaded along together. But otherwise enjoyed each other's happy, silent presence.
Abloec had been wondering where Addy had gotten too, she had been depressed lately and he worried, he might not be her real father but he had raised her and though they never used the title they clearly had that relationship. Sighing having opted to stay near home hoping she would come back.
Addy walking along, turning from smiling at Rock and just making out the green form of Ab among the bushes and trees, he blended in far to well. "Ab!!" Trotting along to give Ab a nuzzle, having missed him. Grinning up at him, clearly no longer depressed.
Rock smiled as he saw Adela run at the stallion with such joy. He owed Ab a lot indirectly. He had been, after all, the one who introduced him to Addy. and he was her father figure. He smiled and also went up to him, but slower, and bowed in greeting. "its great to see you again."
Ab looks up from greeting Adela, his smile a little but to knowing. "So your the one that's kept her away for days, I'm glad for that at least, its good to see her smiling again." Looking down at the smaller mare as she walks over to Rock, looking back to the other stallion. "Its good to see you again too my friend."
Adela smiles, blushing that Ab had noticed she was to miserable and depressed, but then he was Ab he always seemed to notice such things. Walking over and nuzzling Rock, still smiling brightly.
"My apologizes,"rock said with a laugh, "She was actually the one that brought a smile to my face first. I am glad we were able to help each other." He nuzzled Addy back and smiled. "I hope you've been well Ab, its been too long."
Ab smiled seeing how Adela was looking at Rock. "Yes it has been far too long, but it seems we might be seeing more of each other in the future." Putting a slight emphasis on the might, still smiling faintly
Addy blushes but stays close, leaning lightly against Rock, looking over at Ab and tilting her head.
Rock, being as dense as he was, didn't notice the emphasis and looked down at Addy and then back to Ab his smile only growing. "I would love that! we need to catch up."
Ab gave a small eye roll and smiled. "Sure we should do that." Nodding and smiling.
Addy giggling at the eyeroll Ab did, ok so Rock was no rocket scientist but he was hers and he made her happy . Giving him a nuzzle as she looks up at him, her eyes openly adoring.
Rock blinked, frowning faintly and looked from Addy to Ab a few times trying to tap into the secret conversation they were having. "OH!" he suddenly declared in realization and blushed furiously. "I umm... that is to say..." he stammered. He swallowed hard and tried to clearly say what he wanted to. "me and Addy. I mean. Adela and I." he cleared his throat awkwardly. "Adela and myself have..." his blush only increasing.
Ab tries not to chuckle, managing to keep it to just a smile, quirking a brow and biting his tongue. Knowing that Rock hadn't meant it that way but the stumbling of words having a less innocent meaning. But he wondered, what HAVE they done...?
Addy goes a deep shade of pink as Rock stammers, looking at Ab not even able to stammer at first. "We... I...." Looking at Ab and then back to Rock. "I love him." Whispering softly not sure either of them herd.
Rock swallowed hard another time. No longer able to continue and he hung his head in defeat. Ne didn't realize Ab was thinking about what they could have done. And truth be told, they hadn't done much. other than be lovey-dovey and share quite a few kisses. Quiet a few. He sighed and looked up at the stallion again with determined eyes but a shy smile. "I would like to ask for your blessing."
Ab smirked, feeling oddly parental, not something he got to be much any more. "My blessing, well that will depend on your intentions sir..." Looking at Addy his voice gentle. "Would you give us a moment to talk stallion to stallion please? It will all be fine I promise."
Addy looked nervous, looking from Rock to Ab, then back to Rock. Not wanting to leave but she knew Ab, he wouldn't harm Rock, if he just wanted to talk that was the truth but why did she have to leave???? Stepping away with clear hesitation, but nodding, kissing Rocks cheek before she moved away, heading out of sight and hearing range to let them talk.
Rock swallowed and smiled gently to Addy, reassuring her it would be all right. But his stomach was twisting nervously at the thought of a stallion to stallion talk. He was, after all, practically taking away Ab's daughter! He stepped forward and gave the older stallion a crooked smile. "Sorry..im a little new at this." Candy did not have a father that he knew of, and their relationship had been more than...different.
Ab gave a relaxed smile. "Me to... But she is the only family I have here, my daughter in all but blood..." Sighing softly and looking at Rock, not wanting to scare or intimidate him, but he had to be sure that he would make Addy happy. "Last time she mentioned you she said you had left with mate and 3 foals..." His tone mildly questioning, having been a little surprised to see him and Adela looking like a pair of sweethearts.
Rock's eyes widened and then deepened with renewed sorrow. His head lowered and he bit his lip. "That's...a long story." He would tell Ab every detail just like he had told Addy, but now he couldn't bring himself to do it. The sorrow and despair was still so raw and the glow of new love too fresh. He wasn't himself just yet. "But I promise you. I swear. That I won't hurt Adela. I won't repeat my mistakes...."
Ab felt a pang seeing the sorrow on Rocks face. "She lost her spark hen you never came back... Nothing made her laugh or smile... and I tried... She stopped her adventures but would go on long walks... I never thought I'd see her smile again... If you look me in the eyes, and promise me that you love her back, that you wont hurt her then you will have my blessing.... The story can wait till the wounds have had time to heal a little."
Rock looked up with wide eyes. Had that really happened? Was that his fault? He knew that Addy had been sad when he left without a word but to that extent? He felt the claw of self loathing gripping at his heart. He had hurt her so much. He bit his lip and closed his eyes. Giving a small nod after a few moments of deep thought, more to himself than to Ab, and opened his blue eyes again. "I promise. I will never hurt her. I will make her happy. I would give anything for her. And I do, truly and deeply, love her without end.I will never, ever hurt her again."
Ab nods and smiles. walking over to Rock. "Don't beat yourself up over the past... We ALL have regrets... The question is..." Looking over, seeing the shadow Addy made in the distant trees. "Are you happy now, with her? If you are then smile and be happy... Mistakes can be fixed, new paths and bridges built and crossed... And a happy future with a beautiful girl...." Not sure what had happened but it seeming that Rock was as damaged or more so than Addy had been.
Rock watched the older stallion and a smile twitched onto his face and his expression softened. Ab was right, he was moving on and the future was the only thing to look forward to now. "Thank you." He whispered ad only hesitated for a second before bringing his old frined into a close hug.
Ab laughed and hugged him back gently, surprised by the affection but happy for it. "Its ok... Just both be happy and know I'll break all your bones if you hurt her." This said in such a friendly manner that it could easily be a joke. But he leaned back and smiled at Rock. "I'll need to think up a nickname, I can't call you Kiddo, because she is Kiddo hmmm..."
Rock smiled and blushed at the fatherly affection Ab was displaying towards him. "Selena calls me 'the idiot who sings', i think it fits well." He laughed a little harder. being a little reminded of his own father. He suddenly stopped and wondered about his parents. Were they alive still? SHould he venture to find them and seek their blessing too?
Ab smiles and shakes his head. "No I'll come up with something." Not sure what but he knew that he would. "Now where are you two hiding so I can find you if I need to?" Clearly not expecting them to stay, thinking young love didn't need old fogies to cramp its style, then again he wasn't much older than the pair of them.
"Ah! Addy had found a cave not too far from here. We are staying their mostly. I think she said a person named Cael had shown it to her?"
Ab chuckles. "Ah I'll warn Dawn not to stop by, hes a good guy though totally hopeless around soquili, sees fine with twoleggers though, knows allot of their tricks for things." Amused at how hopeless Cael was in the wild and at surviving, but impressed at the things he knew. "Anyway you two get off and sparkle at each other, I'll go find Dawn and warn him to not visit the cave." Smiling quite happy for thme to go back to being loveydovey together.
Rock bowed his head several times and smiled brightly. "Thank you Ab! Im sorry for all the trouble." He was ready to turn around but then he paused and smiled again, "Thank you. And sorry for stealing her." He laughed and trotted over to his Addy.
Ab chuckles at the sorries, not minding as long as they were happy. Wandering over to give Adela a nuzzle and a kiss on the top of her head. "Be happy kiddo, and don't forget this oldie ok?" Winking at her and wandering off to warn Cael his cave was a love nest for now.
Addy looking over at Rock as he comes over, then beaming at Ab and laughing. "Never, we're family and your stuck with me." Nuzzling him back before she lets him leave and walking over to Rock, giving him a nuzzle too and kissing him, long and gentle.
Rock blushed brilliantly as her lips touched his. He smiled when she pulled away and then looked to Ab and smiled awkwardly, still feeling a bit off with how dramatic the change must be fore the other stallion. "We will visit. Promise." He gave a smirk and then bumped Addy with his nose. "off we go?"
Addy nods and smiles, happy to wander off with him back to the cave and being all blissfull and giggly again. "Yes."
