Vampires
Origin

Vampires are unliving humans created when a vampire drains a human dry of blood and then feeds the corpse a few drops of its own vampiric blood. This process is deliberate and draining for the sire, so vampires do not procreate often.

Clan

Daeva: Passionate, charming and sophisticated.
Gangrel: Savage and primal, yet noble.
Mekhet: Mysterious, silent and deadly.
Nosferatu: Rejected, outcast and disturbing.
Ventrue: Lordly, commanding and corrupt.

Each clan covers a broad range of vampiric archetypes. The Daeva, for instance, are both seductive and predatorial, evoking the image of vampires who glide through society as debonair hunters. The Gangrel encompass the theme of the lone, savage and brutal hunters. The Mekhet are conspiratorial occultists, vampires who hide in the shadows gathering lore and knowledge while also possessing the ability for blood magic. Nosferatu vampires are the alienated or disfigured monsters of legend, while the Ventrue represent vampires possessed of an aristocratic, 'lords of the night' sensibility.

Abilities
1. More sensitive sense organs:
- seeing in darkness
- expand colour spectrum
- sensitive hearing
- expand sense of smell, especially the smell of blood
2. increased physical strength
3. increased moving-velocity
4. very fast healing wounds, resistance against human diseases
5. ability to possess ghouls, living creatures that are fed vampiric blood and in turn used as sources of blood.

Disciplines
Common Disciplines
These Disciplines are inherent to the five Clans themselves. Common Disciplines are called like that because more than one clan has an innate knack for them.
Animalism: The power to commune with and command animals. Clan Discipline for Gangrel and Ventrue.
Celerity: The ability to move at incredible speeds with uncanny precision. Clan Discipline for Daeva and Mekhet.
Obfuscate: The power of hiding oneself by clouding the minds of the weak. Clan Discipline for Mekhet and Nosferatu.
Resilience: The ability to withstand crippling injury without submitting. Clan Discipline for Gangrel and Ventue.
Vigor: The ability to manifest supernatural strength, far beyond a mortal's scope. Clan Discipline for Daeva and Nosferatu.
Clan Disciplines
Each Clan has three disciplines which they can learn with more ease than others: Two of those are common, and one is the Clan's specialty Discipline, for which that particular Clan has an innate aptitude.
Auspex: Preternatural sensitivity and awareness and the ability to forsee and know things seemingly unknowable. Practiced primarily by Clan Mekhet.
Dominate: The piercing stare that commands minds and the ability to break the will of others. The specialty discipline of Clan Ventrue.
Majesty: Seductive or commanding sway of emotions and the predatory manipulation of the weak in this way, as practiced by Clan Daeva.
Nightmare: The ability of Clan Nosferatu to evoke sheer terror by revealing one's primal nature
Protean: Clan Gangrel's ability to assume a variety of forms such as a wolf or a mist.

Vampires

Strengths
Recently turned vampires are called neonates.

Vampires possess:
- superhuman strength
- superhuman speed
- immortality
- enhanced durability
- can easily cross water

Vampires are immune to most diseases, drugs and poisons, but can be affected by some if present in the blood of their victims.

All vampires have the potential for superhuman physical attributes. These capabilities improve with age and with the potency of the blood.

Weakness and Death

Vampires can be killed in several ways; most of those ways are similar to the ways of killing a human. In contrary to popular beliefs, vampires are not affected by crucifixes, garlic, holy water or a stake through the heart (although a stake through the heart will paralyze a vampire, but not kill him). Vampires have an extraordinary resilience to bullets, but can be seriously wounded from sharp objects like a knife or a sword. Vampires fear fire and sunlight. They receive serious damage from both (sunlight is absolutely lethal after very short exposure).

From dawn till dusk, they enter a state of supernatural sleep which makes them extremely vulnerable. They may awaken in case of emergency or even not falling asleep at all if their will is strong enough, but during the day they are very weak.

Also, blood is truly vital for vampires, because they can only have so much blood in their body and they continuously spend it to heal injuries, use their powers or even simply to make their dead body move. When a vampire does not have any more blood in its body, it falls into torpor and cannot be reanimated unless someone feeds it with blood or a period of time has passed.
