Nothing went along better with a lazy summer day than working with the bees. After all, what better way to whittle away the hours than with a good mystery. Why are all of you just leaving, and why aren't your predators moving in in your absence? She pursed her lips, golden eyes following the antics of one pair. She tilted her head to the side a little, moving towards the hive she'd been studying for many weeks now. This hive, at least, was not dying out as of yet. The familiar humming calmed the nerves she didn't know were frayed with worry. She sighed, watching the activity of the hive with interest, her notes in the saddlebag her mother has fashioned for her. She spread the animal skin out on the ground, followed by her ink pot filled with berry ink, and the quill she used to take notes. Looking up she observed the hive for the first time, taking down the slight decrease in activity and the rise in population. "Fifteen more of you," she mused, taking down that note, "and who knows how many out in the fields... you're doing very well... I may have caught you on a break too, so that might explain the... drop in... productivity..." The scratch of her quill was as comforting and the sound of the bees above her. After the chill of winter it was nice to be back at her trade. "I think... you might just survive..."

Sherbert had been wandering around when she had stumbled across a mare and the bees she had loved. After she went back to her home she was deep in thought about the one called Hunny..Suckle.. She was wondering how one could be one of bugs more of all bees that were so unpredictable they could stink you without notice. She wanted to know how that mare could do what she did and she knew she had mentioned something about wanting a partner to help her.
She decided she would go back to where she first saw the mare and see what she was doing. She knew she could learn a thing or two from the mare.
Sherbert started to go back the way she came and soon enough she saw the place where the mare and the bees were just a bit earlier. She approached with caution then sat down quietly and watched.

Hunny was so totally enveloped by her work that she saw only bees and flowers. She took the quill from her ink pot and dabbed off a few drops of excess ink before she scratched down another observation. As she lay there, still except for her shorthand notes, more and more bees returned, pollen baskets full almost to the bursting. She made an interested sound, taking note of enhanced productivity. "Are you stock piling? What for?" She furrowed her brow deeply and chewed on the quill for a moment before scribbling down a hypothesis. "There are no... predatory nests... in the area," she mused. Maybe if I took a few home with me, I know how to set up a hive... it shouldn't be that hard... Thoughts buzzed about her head almost as fervently as the bees she studied. She looked up and around for neighboring hives. Maybe they were storing in a sort of arms race. The unmistakable pink frayed her nerves almost instantly. Really, it wasn't the mare personally, it was the fact that she was another living being. Hunny much preferred her solitude, with only the bees to invoke her questions. The reason was simple, bees were fairly easy to understand. They tended the queen, fed the babies, collected pollen, and made honey as food. Soquili, however, were much more complicated. There were no definite answers as to their motives. Still, she held her tongue and turned back to her work. "Don't disturb the bees," was her only, almost whispered remark.

Sherbert was also observing the bees even if Hunny could not tell. She thought it was fascinating what bees could do she also thought Hunny was a really nice Mare. She noticed that much more bees were coming back now and dropping low. It looked like they were filling something but she could not see what. She stepped a bit closer but then she heard Hunny say dont disturb the bees. She stepped back and whispered
"This is amazing! I never knew bees were like this the only side of them i knew was the mean one.." *She watches with intent* "I would hate to disturb such thoughtful workers.." *She turns her head a bit* "I think learning about them will do good for me!"
*When she gets focused on something she becomes a bit less childish* "If you would let me i would love to help you take care of them and monitor them!" *She is beaming*

Hunny laughed without mirth. "That's a myth. Bees, at least Honeybees, are very passive creatures. However, just like any other life form, they will react violently if they or their home is threatened. Other wise if you establish yourself as a non-threat to them they will ignore you." She took another note and sighed, "Yellow Jackets, however, are right nasty pieces of work. I stay away from them. Honeybees, however, are not mean. They are just workers. In fact, they literally work until they die. They never rest. And they have their work cut out for them." Another note and another observation. "The plants, trees, grasses, none of the vegetation would exist if the honeybees didn't pollinate the earth. That's why it's such a serious crisis that they're disappearing." She glanced at Sherbert, considering her for a moment while she chewed on her quill. "Well... as long as you stay calm, I see no reason why you can't. I could use an assistant anyway." She sighed, scribbling down another note. "Learning is a good habit to keep up," she finished, scratching something out with a furrowed brow. "No, no that's preposterous... then why... stress? From what?" She looked back up at the hive, the thing now buzzing with activity, as it were.

"Oh well it seems sad that bees work till they die i would think even bugs need a bit of fun in there lives.. I would hate for them to go away though i would hate to see everything die.. You probably know the most about bees dont you?" *She turns her head* "Bees and all things related.. Yellow jackets do not sound nice at all.." *She gets a bit closer and observes the hive of bees*
"Im sure i can keep up! Im a great learner and this is great subject!" *She nods her head smiling* "I bet this will be fun! I want to learn as much as you know and then i can help save the bees!"

Hunny nodded gently. "Indeed. The reason all things grow and bloom is due to the pollination the bee's do. In order to create the honey that they eat they have to collect pollon from flowers. They mix that with their saliva to create a sugary syrup." She scratched down another note as more pollon-laden bees arrived at the hive. "Recently, however, they have been dying out. It's called Colony Collapse Syndrome. I can't see what though... there's no reason to why. That's why I'm studying them, to try and find out why, maybe save them. If they die, the plants die. Then we die, then those who feed on us die. Then the bug who feed on the meat eaters die. Then there is nothing left. Bees are the catalyst for life, Sherbet." Her eyes grew glassy as she spoke about her passion, putting her quill down to draw back into her mind.
