Hello my Love-el-ies heart

(Help/ Opinions/ Methods that could be useful)

What is Reiki?

Reiki is tha Japanese Practice of Energy healing.

Who uses Reiki?

That is the question that has me begining this Topic. I had recently read that one had to be a "Reiki certified provider," yet, I find that this concept contradicts the concept that everyone carries their own energy. It is also stated that only a Certified Reiki proffessional can only give another the ability through, "attunement." http://www.reiki.org/FAQ/Questions&Answers.html
Is this a way to make their wallets fatter, or is it true?

I have always had the ability to manipulate energy, and don't agree with these supposed leaders in the feild, nor do I particularly believe in

My question though, is wether or not you have any particular methods that you use? (If you do not agree with these particular leaders of the feild)

If you want to know and I'll be happy to post/PM my technique to where it belongs? Or relocate this Considering this isn't exactly a "Help me" post but more of a question post.. ^_____^

With Love~

Nom nom nom~ heheh~

Well, I was taught what Reiki was by a friend of mine, and how to do healing with it, but other than that it was up to me how to do it and for whom. I usually just send my energies to them. It tends to focus around my hands, but I don't have to put my hands on or near them. I focus the energie wherever it's needed, muscle, bone, cut, burn, head, arm, wherever.

It sounds nuts that they would charge a 100 bucks for it (that's like saying, "Hey, I'll treat your arm and leg, then you can hack them off to pay me and I'll cauterize the wounds for free."), and I don't see how it would take 45 minutes to an hour and a half to treat them, unless whatever they were working on was all over their body or some kind of internal, chronic issue. It usually, with me anyway, depends on the size and scope of what they want done, and I don't charge them for it. XD Most of the time it's my friends I'm working with, though. If I charged them they'd hurt me.

How do you do yours, Coyote? I wanna hear. owo

Also, I have a question about the healing yourself part that was mentioned in the link. Would it be normal if the healing didn't work on the healer themselves, or why would this happen?

I'm a lineaged Reiki practitioner so I'll address a few of the questions and issues brought up here. (Note: I have not read the link.)

Reiki is a lineaged practice and therefore in order to practice and teach true Reiki you must be attuned by someone that has been attuned, going back to Mikao Usui. If I were offering Reiki training to the public I would charge a fee; my time is not free. It's no different from offering a class in any other subject.

Everyone carries their own energy. Reiki is a universal energy that is essentially channeled by the practitioner. The practitioner does not use their own energy; they channel the Reiki force.

A typical Reiki session, from what I've seen, can take more than an hour for a full-body treatment depending on the particular recipient.

As far as healing yourself with Reiki goes: When you learn Reiki the first person you practice on is yourself. Since you are channeling Reiki when you treat a recipient then you are also getting the benefit of healing energy. If one was not receiving any benefit from using Reiki on themselves then I'd question if they were actually channeling the Reiki force.

I have treated friends and relatives with Reiki and I do not charge for this. If I were to open a practice then I would have to charge in order to keep the business running. Sometimes, if there is not an exchange of some kind the Reiki will not take. If a person does not want to be healed then Reiki will usually not work. On that same principle, if they are not willing to give something in order to be healed then Reiki will probably not work. This is not always the case.

I should add that I don't think that you absolutely have to learn Reiki from a lineaged practitioner to channel Reiki. Mikao Usui was not attuned by anyone; he merely made contact with the Reiki force. If you can gain enough of an understanding of Reiki to make contact with it yourself then lineage is just a formality, in my opinion. That said, there are certain symbols used in the practice or Reiki, as well as certain techniques and hand positions, but these are not as important as having a connection with the Reiki force in the first place.

Thankyou both of you. ^___^
From the most part I don't exactly agree with the whole lineage aspect of Reiki. Perhaps we are of different opinions on that. Obviously time is never free in the world we live in :3
As far as how I do what I do, proably a bit different then how you all do it as I've studied lots of different belifs. THus my technique is much more of a articulation between different methods.

For one I start with someone who is willing. Generally it's my family. I start with creating a positive energy orb around me and my "Patient" and slowly connect them. Then I ground myself, I do this by visualizing roots from me into the earth. It's just easier for me that way lol, from whatever mental aspect.
I never use my own energy to heal. I focus on a light that comes through me to my patient and spreading through out their body. THen I let any dark shades of energy come up through me and to the light source.

AS for the light source, I consider the two that I use to be the same one. It's just easier for me to ground with the "Root" method rather then having the energy come from the sky to the third eye.

I let the dark shaded and unhealthy energy through me and transport it, and let the earth deal with returning it to it's positive state.

Then I redo the same as when I began, pushing postive energy through me and to where the gaps, or aches are.

I don't rely on what the person tells me because usually if i put my hands on their back I can tell one where their is unbalanced energy and spots through color. Pretty neat actually. :3

However, I do note that my technique is a bit, nom nom nom , mismatched and un trained. Still working on developing the whole process. Initially, I ended up using crystals to pin point chakras, but found that I no longer needed that after a bit of practice. And to end the session, I separate our energies and "deroot" my self.
