I'll start
Estrello swiped her tail trying to get rid of the flies surrounding her as she laid in the shade away from the summer sun.
She snorted thinking about a nice dark cave, even the damp stale air was better than this heat.

Estrello swiped her tail trying to get rid of the flies surrounding her as she laid in the shade away from the summer sun.

She decided to get up and go forth in search of a place like that......
Damien was resting on the cold, hard slate floor of a cave, just like a stereotypical Kalona descendant should. His wings tucked in neat, protected from the threatening stalactites above. Now he knew why winds weren't known to live in such places. A twitch, a flutter too many would result in handicapping oneself.
Then his ears twitched up, hearing the crackle of rocks rolling on the cave ground. Someone made a misstep. Probably a stupid foal. Rolling his eyes, Damien got up, ready to protect his title of 'horrifying Kalona monster' and his entitlement of the cave. His cave, now.
He didn't care about his own footing as he walked, which resulted in the trespasser - a straying rabbit - skitter away towards the light. Ugh. The light. Dai squinted against it, grinding his teeth in annoyance. Oh, what the hell. Nice day for a walk?
Estrello spied a cave with a rabbit running away, stupid thing ran into the mud, she almost went after it, almost, but the heat and sun was too harsh and made for the cave entrance,
once stepping in she sniffed the smell of rabbit, stale wet air and something else, feathers and.... the smell of a stallion, smirking she went in. not caring about the mud starting to dry
Another corner and he'd be in direct light. Damien grinned. He'd been napping about, being lazy the past few suns. But there came a shadow just as he came to that corner he was supposed to turn at. Blinking in confusion, he observed quietly, frozen. It looked threatening at first - lion's mane and tail! A lion, though? Around this woody area? The best they got was cougars. Upon the 'other' coming closer, Dai made out the clopping noises were hooves, just like his, split down the middle. Ah, that would explain the leonine tail... A Unicorn.
Cooly, with regained confidence, he went ahead and turned the corner, facing a Unicorn.... With two horns. A Kalona? It didn't matter. She was a mare. He held back laughter, resulting in a snort. "What are you supposed to be? Coming into my cave isn't the brightest idea for a pretty little mare." He winked a distinctive green eye, quickly following with a head-toss to shake his bangs out of those very eyes.
Estrello snorted , her glassy green eyes watched his.
" why, are you afraid of the light? I might be little but I can BITE," showing off her sharpened fangs , her small sharpened fangs(2) .
it was interesting, most soquili would be out in the sun, or making foals >_>
"I'm sure you can. As can any mare. Doubt there's anything special about you." He grinned. Yes, mares liked being treated like s**t. He felt totally ballsy at that precise moment, taking a step towards her, acting all slick. "Then again, you are a pretty little thing... Spiteful, yes, but pretty." His next smile flashed his own Kalona inheritance, gorgeous, sharper-than-normal teeth from the daddy he never knew.
"So, want to tell me what you're doing in my cave? Curious abut the cave Kalona?" His eyebrows rose as he looked down at her.
Estrello narrowed her eyes " if that's the case seems you should only have half the cave, at most."
she trotted around till she leaped to a low hanging cliff and sat down," your not the only one who likes the darkness."
Damien's own eyes narrowed into slits, "look, I don't know who you are, but you obviously lack an understanding of how things work around here.." How dare she? He trotted up to stand before her, looking at her shortened sitting form. Was it shameful that he bit his lip anxiously before facing her? Very. But he wouldn't show any compassion, no...
"This is my cave. And you need to learn some respect for your superiors. Can't call yourself a Kalona, could you? You're grounded like a lousy ram, what with your horns. Very threatening." Sarcasm dripped from every syllable, and he continued staring her down... Staring into her eyes. They were the kind of green of a regular frog. Plain. But plain wasn't always bad....
She thought about herself and him, probably like her not knowing about their kalona sides, " I've met mixblood, kalonas, flutters, even skinwalkers, have you?"
yes thinking back she agreed with them, she was quite brash,
"I've met all I need to know how the world works. Predator catches the prey, predator eats the prey.." He took steps towards her with every word, trying to look threatening. "Best thing the prey can do is pray."
But all of a sudden... He didn't want her to leave and scamper out like those idiotic foals who came here on dares. Face melting into a neutral expression, he stepped back, looking the mare over. "What's your name, anyhow?"
Estrello got up and almost make a joke but stopped instead when she saw his face, " the name is Estrello"
"Estrello...." The name rolled off the tongue. "So are you one of those desert horses, then, who speak a different language?" His grandfather talked of such horses when they had their mandatory storytime way back when. "Whatever, it doesn't matter. I'm Damien."
Estrello giggled, " no wonder you like the darkness, as for my name my dad always wanted to be a gypsy "
Laughter. It echoed in the darkness, and in Damien's head. His eyes squinted shut and for a second he was brought back to earlier days, when everything was silly and foalish.
"A name has nothing to do with who a horse is."
estrello sighed, " tell that to my dad. actually no, he might try and flirt with you...."
"WHAT?!" Damien started, jumping up and away from Estrello, his feathers literally ruffled. A few rooftop-icicle-sized stalactites crumbled around him, shattering audibly. There was an uncomfortable silence before Damien could speak again. "Your father... He's... Uh... Wrong?"
Estrello," oh, that scare you? be glad your not near my tent then, but yeah my dad goes both ways, he even has a boyfriend Usidia!"
Damien's nose crinkled up uglily, "that's wrong. Stallions are to like mares and mares are to like stallions." How did that happen? It confused Damien... It frightened him. He was rebellious, sure, but no one rebels against nature's way.
Estrello saw his look and decided not to tell him that she thought same way, " I guess he's just a free spirit, makes me wanna not date a uni for that matter."
Were all Unis like that? Definitely not. Damien frowned, "hey, I know plenty of straight Unicorns. Nothing bad about them. They're one of the better breeds....." How sissy did that sound? "But you didn't just hear that," he winked. "There's Unicorn blood under this flesh, too, you know..." Why was he being so nice to her? Damien shook his head and chuckled. Mares.
Estrello swiped her tail, " this ledge is mine, for now"
Damien's eyes narrowed once more, "nothing here is yours unless I say so." He smiled and sashayed to stand close to her again. "But perhaps you could persuade me to give you this ledge here..." His wing spread out and brushed the ground before them.
Estrello," well it's not WET up here and you have wings to find a better ledge."
she hated the fact her mom was wingless having met her aunt she found out only mom and grandad had no wings in family, other than her and her brother, who somehow looked like a buff version of her dad, sadly she was the small one of the family.
Damien rolled his eyes, "this whole cave is mine, you know. I don't need to find a ledge. They're all mine."
Estrello," is that why you chased the little rabbit out?"
"Yes, as a matter of fact that's exactly why I did it." He leaned in close, "Some things just can't help sticking their noses where they don't belong. Those things should be glad I don't tear them apart."
Estrello rolled her eyes a bit, " I just heard blah blah blah either make out with me or fight, which one is it?"
Damien's eyes widened and his grin got bigger, boosting him to the 'top of his game'. "Why not both? Fighting could turn me on."
She actually smiled at bit and leaped at him-
