 Sometimes Haku wondered how his mother was faring these days. He didn't want to know enough to go give her a visit, but he did wonder. He'd look himself, but he'd never had a vision about someone who wasn't present with him... He always figured it was because he lacked focus about such things if they weren't with him. It was difficult to say, but one thing was for sure- he'd gotten quite comfortable here in this desert. He had performances on a regular basis with his twin brother, and they seemed to be quite the act these days. He wondered secretly if they had any fans... He wondered if his closest friend was a fan of their performances. After all, what on earth could possibly be more awesome than him and his twin brother completely jamming?
Not much, not much. After all, the pair of them working together had a particular vibe to it, a groove, something that he felt in the recesses of his soul, thanks to his upbringing in the Nchi. His life so far had been a roller coaster, but he was very happy with that.
The lion pondered these things as he sat in the sand, tail flicking lazily and paws folded under him... Yes, these were some good days.

Quaashie was growing to love his home. It was a fun place, with lots to do and plenty of lions to pal around with. How was he supposed to hate a place that never seemed to get boring? At first, he had been a bit worried that settling down in a pride at long last would prove the death of him- that there would be nothing to do within a week and he would be eager to escape into the rogue lands he had known all his life once more.
As it turned out, he didn’t feel like going back to the rogue lands. In fact, he was starting to think he had made the right choice in picking a pride after all. After much more than a week, he was still finding new things to do. New places to explore.
New lions to meet.
Speaking of which, there was a male not too far from him, sitting in the sand all by himself. Was there something wrong? Only one way to find out. “Hello there, friend,” he said lightly, “hope I’m not bothering you. Just thought I might say hello, since I don’t think we know one another yet. I’m a bit new here myself.” Well, he’d been there a good while, but it still felt like he was a newbie. There was so much he didn’t get.
Part of the place’s charm, he imagined.

Now that he thought about it, though, he was kinda bored. Not overall, but at this moment. Well, Zurina was busy, and Mat was too. He gave his tail another flick before he heard a strange voice behind him. The male turned to see another lion before him, presumably a pridemember. He thought he'd seen him around, anyway. He gave him a smile as he talked. "Well hi," he responded. "No, no bother at all, I've gotta admit that I don't know you much either. I'm kinda new too," he said with a sheepish grin.
"My name's Hakuna, I'm an artisan for the pride," he said, happy to have his title and to be done with classes. "In specific, I specialize in dancing. Oh, and my name's Hakuna, or Haku for short," he said as an afterthought. He often forgot about manners, though not on purpose. He was glad to meet up with another newbie, and glad to see that he wasn't the only one. In fact, he only had a handful of friends and acquaintances here, but he was always open to making more!
