About me:
I am officially known as the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg (Luxembourgish: Groussherzogtum Lëtzebuerg, French: Grand-Duché de Luxembourg, German: Großherzogtum Luxemburg).
I'm a landlocked country in western Europe, bordered by Belgium, France, and Germany. I lie on the cultural divide between Romance Europe and Germanic Europe, borrowing customs from each of the distinct traditions.
I'm a sibling of Belgium and Netherlands. I am also trilingual; German, French and Luxembourgish.
I have a highly developed economy now, with the highest Gross Domestic Product per capita in the world.
My historic and strategic importance dates back to its founding as a Roman era fortress site and Frankish count's castle site in the Early Middle Ages. It was an important bastion along the Spanish Road when Spain was the principal European power influencing the whole western hemisphere and beyond in the 16th–17th centuries.

My History:
Everybody thought of me as the grand fortress of great strategic value and location. Everybody bothered with me because I'm the in the middle of everything. Anyone who had anything to do with me did strengthen my defensive capabilities.
I was also one of the countries living with Holy Roman Empire.
(The Netherlands was ruled by Spain for a time.) I was once in personal union with Netherland.
Prussia did get his hands on my fortress and occupied it. The 'Belgian Revolution' reduced my territory by more than half. She took most of the French western part.
Then the 'Luxembourg Crisis' nearly led to war between Prussia and France. France wanted to me to become one with him. This was disputed by Prussia.
Throughout history I've had parts of me taken way, practically chewed off of me.
Germany invaded and occupied me during WW1, but maintained my independence. During WW2 however I decided not to be a neutral country. I joined the Allies. But once again I was invaded and occupied. Though I was annexed into the Third Reich. My boss ran away, fled. I was forced into fighting along with Germany... T__T
I later became a founding member of the United Nations and of NATO. I also became one of the six founding countries of the EU. Many important events have been held at my house in this modern age.
I also have a bit of an embarrassing census that I consume/sell the most alcohol in Europe. Though this is probably not true at all. ^^ ; It is probably due to my neighbors fulfilling their alcoholic needs from my house.
I've had the pleasure of having the first city to be named 'European Capital of Culture' twice.
I currently have close ties with Belgium and the Netherlands 'The Benelux Trio'.
