An AIM RP...
Sweeny: Having just escaped the jaws of almost certain adoption Priscilla bobbed about the ocean, following the currents aimlessly. She liked to think of herself as free and untamed as the sea herself, really, and just as proud. She laughed at the sentiment just as she did whenever it came into her mind. It really was a presumptuous thought. Who looks out at the infinite, powerful sea, somehow all know and non judgmental, giving and kind, yet unmerciful and irrespective of age, status, and sex and identifies with it? Perhaps she was just a pretentious little thing, just like her equally vain mother said
The current swirled her left and right and she swooped with it, hummed and bopping just like she always did. It was a nonsense tune, and she didn't really know what notes she was hitting really, but she was alone, so it didn't really matter. She only popped out of her stupor when a splash of color hit her peripheral vision. She whipped around in the current and swam against it to get a better view of the reef she had happened upon. Checking to make sure there were no predators around, she bobbed out of the current and over to the reef. Being so dark, she sort of stuck out like a sore hoof, but she didn't mind much. It just meant she was that much more exotic. She latched onto a branch of the reef and lipped at some sea weed distractedly as she looked around. She wasn't so used to being so close to the surface, and light filtered in from above clearly. She smiled despite herself and looked back at the neon reef, all to herself. She sighed contentedly, and went to eating for real.
Doodle: Being the product of a random encounter and fling, the sea stallion had little ideas of either of his parents, having to raise himself, with no one but the ocean itself to be his only companion, which he had no complaint about.
With a snort, his hooves cut through the current of the sea as he swam towards the reef, this is where he came after a good treasure hunt, to make an offering to the sea, for good luck. A small golden trinket dangled from his jaws as he pushed himself forward.
He didnt pause to keep an eye out for predators, but came into veiw of reef without a second thought or glance at an idea of his own safety, bring on the challenge of a predator!
Sweeny: As the salty greens tickled at her cheeks while she ate she gazed around the reef. There were so many colors. She’d never seen so many in her life. Of course, she was still relatively young and had lived her few years in deeper waters. There was nothing much to look at but the murky blue of the water. Perhaps she’d call this refreshing change her home for a time. A short time, of course, she didn’t like to stay in one place for too long. The idea chafed her more than a little bit. Just as her mother before her and most likely her grandmother before that, she was a roaming spirit. A nomad.
As she finished her salty delicious lunch Priscilla looked up. The first thing that caught her eyes was a shine in the distance. Her interest was officially piqued. She unhooked her tail from the piece of coral she was latched to and swam up above the reef to try and get a better look. Gold. Upon closer investigation she discovered the gleam to be gold. She didn’t notice the stallion as she drew closer. Her glowing eyes saw only the precious metal in his teeth, envisioning it around her perfect neck. Oh, she’d look stunning indeed with that. Well, more stunning, anyway.
Doodle: The sudden sight of the little sea mare, caused him to pull up, with a snort he eyed her curiously before his head tilted to the side, what on earth was she doing getting in his way?
His ears flickered as his mane swirled and danced on the ocean's current, his front hooves pawed easily at the water as he arched a brow at her, in question yet he'd said nothing to her.
Sweeny: The movement made Priscilla look up from under her lashes. Well, that was a stupid move. Still, no matter the move, make it work in your favor. She watched the stallion with gentle blue eyes and lowered her lids to give her a sleepy look. Slowly she smiled at him, speaking slowly, with a voice she’d been trained to use with stallions. “Excuse my intrusion,” she said, lifting her head, tilting it to the side a little. “It’s just that… well I was wondering what, exactly, you have that trinket for. A lady friend, perhaps?” Her voice was soft, gentler than her normal tone. She brought it down a few notches to a lower, more womanly tone. The fins atop her head swayed gently in the current. She gracefully crossed her hooves before her, giving her a look of modesty.
Doodle: He eyed her curiously for a moment before chuckling, "This gift is for only one lady.." He said before he couldnt help but smirk at the female, he had no interest in modest, timid females with eyes for only trinkets, trinkets were his business.
His voice was deep as the sea, and had an air of suave and savy undertones. "And that lady is the sea, no other.." He said in firm, final tones. His eyes drifted over the sea mare slowly, taking her in slowly, not really caring if she found this to be a bold and ungentleman like, he never claimed to be one.
Sweeny: Priscilla pursed her lips a little as he looked her up and down. Her brow lifted at his audacity, finding it oddly refreshing. She straightened herself up, eyes closing as she turned her head to the side. She could not deny the beauty in his voice, and how to made her smile, if only gently. “Oh my, you sound so irate. Will you fault me for enjoying beauty like my own?” Her eyes fluttered open and her grin widened slightly. She observed him just as he had done to her. She had to admit, while not as colorful as the reef she’d just left, he was indeed beautiful. She watched, fascinated as his mane drifted about his face and neck. It was so different from her own fins. She could honestly say, that since she never spent much time around others, she’d never seen a mane on a seathi.
Doodle: He couldn't help but chuckle slightly, at least she didnt freak out when she was throughly checked over, that was a nice little tid bit he thought as he nodded his head almost in approval, she was a stunning little sea mare, he thought though he'd never seen one like her before. At her words though, he could only grin, "Ah, well beauty must be admired by the beautiful.." He gave a simple shrug of his shoulders.
"Now, if you'll excuse me miss. Ive a gift to bestow.." He said with a frill of his tail as he propelled himself forward.
Sweeny: Not even the lightest dusting of a blush graced her cheeks as Priscilla received the compliment. There was no betting of her eye lashes, and no girlish giggle as he nodded his approval of her. She didn’t need it. There was only a smirk and her voice. “I’m glad you noticed.” She quirked her eyebrow at him as he left her. She didn’t move to get out of his way. Again, her interest was piqued. And twice by the same individual. That was strange indeed. What was stranger still was giving “gifts” to someone she could only assume was the ocean. And such a pretty gift as well. She huffed to herself, calling it a pitiful waste.
Still, curiosity killed the cat, the saying goes, but satisfaction brought it back. She lazily drifted forward, legs extended out before her lazily. When she caught up with his she rolled onto her back, watching his amusedly. “Why, exactly, do you give gifts to the sea?” It was genuine curiosity, which was common for her. However hidden it may have been by her uninterested tone it was.
Doodle: He glanced at her for a moment, well at least she wasnt trying to talk him into giving it to her instead, but then again she didnt seem like most sea mares either, he nodded with approval once more.
"Because, you show your respect to the ocean, even in all her calm beauty of this moment, she holds your life in the balance, and could snatch it away at her whim." He said in somber tones, he'd lost many stallions to the whim of the sea, but that was his life, and those who joined him knew its dangers, being a pirate wasnt supposed to be easy.
