Emil yawned and stretched, shaking dry grass from his fur. He'd taken a nap in a rare moment of not being assaulted by a sibling, cousin, uncle, aunt, niece, nephew, or whatever. And now, sadly, it was over. He sighed and started back towards where the rest of the pride generally tended to mill about. Just in case his mother or his veggie-head of a brother Tamana was worrying. He may not have liked large amounts of people, but he did care about his...ODD not-so-little family.
Primitus was enjoying time away from the others, wings fanned out to warm in the sun, the male's eyes closed with a slight smile on his maw.
The sun felt good, yes-- the pride lands, a mix of jungle, grassland, and a river were blissfully beautiful, offering a relaxing repast from the outside world. A small movement caught his ears, and he opened his whiteless glowing gold eyes, looking in the direction of the movement, and smiled further. Ah, one of his descendants. The great male rose, moving over calmly before speaking.
"Where are you going so rapidly, small one?"
Emil stopped and blinked up at the god. Ah...his...great-grandfather, he believed. "I ducked away to take a nap. Now I'm going back before Mother can worry. Would you like to walk with me, honored ancestor?" He could be polite! And still be to the point!
Primitus smiled kindly, nodding.
"I would be honoured." The male bowed his head, equally polite, befoire letting the much smaller cub set the pace, the larger male following.
"How have you been? Your mother?"
Emil felt rather honored himself. He tried to keep from being too slow...after all, the god's strides were much larger than his own. "I've been well. And mother...she's been well, all considered. I try not to worry her too much. And keep Tamana in line from doing something stupid."
"I see." Primitus smiled, chuckling gently. "It's good your willing to help your mother and brother. Very honourable." Primitis smiled once more, padding carefully. "Have you made many friends?"
Emil frowned. "Friends...there's one girl who visits from the Matembezi whenever Mwezi Moto'nyota or her daughter Taswira visits. She's...odd. But she means well. Other than her...I do not think I've friends." He was too busy with his family to make any.
"Ah, one friend is better than being alone." Primitus nodded. "Never tuirn your back on a friend. You never know if you need their help."
Emil nodded. "Of course." He looked up to Primitus. "What about you? Is your life well?" He hoped it was. Primitus was a good god...he deserved a good life.
"At present, yes." Primitus nodded. "It's interesting, at least.," Primitus chuckled. "You never know what will happen. But that makes life interesting doesn't it?"
"I...suppose it does." Emil frowned. "I prefer when life doesn't throw too much interesting at me." He prefered being prepared for what was coming at him. Not caught off guard. (Though Tanwen did that every time she showed up.)
"Many do,. Unfortuanate, we cannot control fate. Not even the gods." Priomitus shook himself out. "Or I assure you, we would war to do so."
A nod from the white-maned juvenile. "I know you would, at least." His ears perked up and his bright blue eyes went more alert. "Ah...we're here." He looked back up to Primitus. "Thank you for walking with me. Would you like to visit Mother?"
"Perhaps not tonight, but soon, I think. Especially with my children olkder now."
Children... It reminded him of his pact with Nyasambe.
The juvenile nodded again. "Alright, honored ancestor. It was good talking with you. Shall I give Mother your regards than?"
"Please do, littkle one." Primitus smiled, bowing and licked his ear kindly.
Emil made a face, never one for affectionate gestures. But he didn't verbally complain. "I shall." And then he trotted towards his mother's den, ready to deal with whoever of his large family was around aside from her.
Primitus smiled, getting up himself before turning, padding for his own den. Yes, this was a good day, certainly more interesting than most. For now, he woujld, however, take a rest. The sun, after all, was soothing.
