Li Wei:
With the pride safe and content, his paws rested, and Maua likely lurking some ways behind him, it was time to move on. Li had checked up on his adopted family earlier that morning. Abel and Cain, of course, then converted him to a living junglegym under his mother's supervision. He'd been shocked to hear that 'heve had been seeing another male. A timid thing with a studder apparently. His brothers had been very clear in their disapproval.

That afternoon, he'd left quietly, taking to the sky with a long bound and running upon summoned whisps of cloud. He'd landed that evening just after sunset ont he sands of a coast. The clouds thinned into nothing as his paws touched the still damp ground. A hermet crab scittered out of the way, finding shelter under a fallen log.

The young god drew in a long breath, his chest swelling as he took a few steps towards the foaming white waters. It was cold...very cold actually, and he couldn't help but yelp at the water's touch. He liked the bigwater though...it was quiet, he could listen to the waves on the shore while he rested. And so far- there hadn't been an 'incident'.

Mut:
Mutes arrived shortly after Li, as he usually did when checking up on the young god. His mortal masked was dropped for this encounter. There was no reason to have it up. The sand whiped about briefly as he landed, again, not trying to hide his presence from Li.

Cael:
Cael's body sprawled out upon a dew-dampened rock, laying her cheek against its coolness. She heard the continuous clapping of the avian beak, feeling it gingerly tug and separate the disheveled fur. Adara one way or another tended to keep her in line and look somewhat decent rather than a reckless, unkempt mess. As tempting as it was to give sass or ruffle a few feathers, so to speak, Cael not only humored the idea but now began to take advantage of the benefits. Why had she been so resistant to the offer before? Well, there was the fact that at times Cael felt a little awkward- more or less Adara often seemed to be that persistent, pin feathered, prosecutor who seemed to deflate the wild and strangely unique ideas that caused the goddess to abruptly take flight into adventure. Adara was small but she was a whole lot of bossy.
: "I don't know how you get so dirty," Adara noted, nibbling the clots of debris and god-knows-what from out the tangled fur. "You should try to at least be just a bit more careful."

Cael grinned slightly at the wry tone melded with a hint of annoyance in her voice. Although this hadn't gone unseen by Adara herself and it wasn't long before her avian cohort pulled at her fur sharply.

"Ow! Hey-" The Goddess cringed, her muzzle twisting irritably as her body jostled for a moment before collecting itself in a fit of tension. Mismatched eyes snapped towards her side, "What was that for?"

"You're overreacting!"

"Abuse was not included in what you said you'd be doing," Cael bristled, squinting from behind the glasses that sat upon the bridge of her muzzle.

A derisive smirk curled itself upon the toucans' beak. "That's because it comes complimentary. You don't have to pay for sass or abuse- it's available to you all the time!"
: Cael paused. She twitched her whiskers with a hesitant stammer and said nothing as another brisk tug grappled her fur. Her claws raked against the surface of the rock as she braced herself, watching as small fluffs of white dispersed into the air and fell at her paws. Maybe this was a bad decision after all. Her ears flattened against her skull. If only to pass the time, the goddess stared out towards the briney sea.

And of course there was nothing to look at.

Fan-freaking-tastic.

Restless, the goddess muttered with a sigh."I could really use a wish right now

Li Wei:
Li padded at the water, curiously, as it washed up the sand and pooled around his paws. He quietly marveled at how with each pass the sand seemed to sweep in around him, buring his toes in deeper. Now and then, the water would push sand aside and expose a new shell or rock. He stepped back and threw a look over his shoulder. Between the wind and the sound of the water crashing against the beach, surrounding rocks, and the water itself he'd not heard Mut's approach.

The young god screamed and jumped back. His buried paw caught in the sudden movement, sending him rolling over himself to land a few feet out into the water. It wasn't deep enough to cover him, but the tumble alone had him soaking wet and covered with sand. Spitting and sputtering both sand and salty water alike, Li sat himself up. The golden mane had fallen over his face and tangled around his horn, blinding him for the moment.

He groaned and reached a paw up to part the curtain of hair and peek out. "Mut...you scared me!"

Mut:
Mutes stood on shore as Li took a tumble into the large drink. The sight was comical, but Mutes amusment didn't show a bit in his expression or words. "It's part of my duties as courage." He paused and checked Li quietly for any visual of injury. "Are you alright?"
: He had heared the other two on the rocks fussing with each other, but did not take much notice of their presence.

Cael:
She cradled her muzzle on crossed forepaws, breath wafting from her nostrils, and stared out into the plains. Was this place always so vacant? Somehow or another it seemed that the Gods' Realm with its brisk arctic chill and tundra landscape remained more populous than this; there was always an immortal to cross paths with. The only other objects to keep the two girls entertained were acacia trees, large misplaced rocks that dotted the horizon, a lingering breeze, and two gods.

"Fantastic," Cael groaned.

It took several moments for her brain to re-calculate and equate what it had just processed. One of those things were not like the other. Leisurely scanning the grounds once again she mulled over the same pattern until she stared point blank towards the mentioned misfit. A god. Correction; two gods. Mismatched eyes enlarged with bewilderment, shock even. What were gods doing here? A single brow arched upwards with quizzical confusion. Cael's maw hung ajar. She was at a loss for words.

Adara's attention was focused elsewhere as her beak clipped and clopped, pulling at the last of a thistle that had embedded itself within the feline's fur. Always looking after she leaps, the toucan drew a silent conclusion with a roll of her eyes. Cael was a reckless thing but perhaps on the upside it certainly made for good entertainment. Even better were the blackmail stories-- and did she have plenty!

As the last mess of matted fur was freed, she sighed.

"You're really a piece of work. If it wasn't for me you'd be a walking mess of stickers and thorns." Hopping with a flap of her wings, Adara settled atop Cael's head and fluffed her feathers. "Looking after a hellion is hard work and to think I don't get compensation."

No retort or sarcastic wit sounded from the feline and that made Adara somewhat flustered.

"Real mature, Cael. The silent treatment is quite possibly your lowest blow."

Still nothing.
: The toucan edged closer, trudging through the tapered, plush locks that jetted in a disheveled array. Somewhat settled between the tiger-like ears that were oddly perked, Adara leaned over and locked eyes with the feline.

"You know you can be a real pain the a**." She's so stubborn, she thought. Even though the two were quite voracious with sarcastic slinging and retorts both feline and avian were close. Very close. Amongst Adara's own disgruntled feathers she could no doubt sense that something was wrong. She didn't like it. She especially resented the fact that she didn't know what was bothering her cohort. A flood of guilt seized her.
: Adara sighed. "You know I'm only joking, right?"

For a moment Cael's eyes managed to tear away from the god and glance up toward the other female. The goddess arched her wings, subtly tapping one of them against the toucan once, then twice. She had caught the avians' attention more or less when several large feathers from her wing directed her toward the very objecst which had rendered her silent and incoherent.
: Upon following, Adara too seemed to fall into the same hypnotic, disillusioned state that had taken both deities hostage.

"Oooooh." Well that made sense, didn't it?

Looking between both gods and goddess, Adara clapped her beak and stammered a foot, claws prodding the female for some sort of genius ice breaker.

Underneath Cael flinched. Her brows wrinkled with a slight restoration of coherency. Rather she was becoming somewhat coherent than before. Peering from behind the glasses that sat upon the bridge of her muzzle, the goddess blinked as her tongue mustered a somewhat awkward greeting.

: "Uh-"

There was a drawn pause as her speech stumbled. What was she suppose to say? Being caught off guard like this was never beneficial on Cael's behalf- especially when it came to striking up conversation. She could bring up the weather or inquire about who he was. That seemed simple enough but no, not for Cael. Instead she just had to point out the thing that stuck out to her the most.

”Sup?”

Adara's own wing flung against her forehead with a smack, shielding her face with her feathers out of dire embarrassment. "Brilliant, just brilliant," the toucan mumbled.

Things were about to get interesting.

Li Wei:
Li busied himself with removing the strands of mane from his horn, gently and carefully. He hated having anything touch the horn, it didn't matter if it was hair, water, someone else's paw, or, in this case, a fresh coat of sand. He groaned and shivered as water trailed through his scales, penetrating even his fur. He'd have to groom himself later... if 'heve saw him in this state she'd be out of her mind with concern. He'd get that look followed quickly by rough scoldings from both his adopted brothers.

: He looked up to Mut and smiled, a little flustered. The good-humored youth slowly rolled himself up to his hooves, finding little purchase in the sand. "I'm okay, I just hi- AAACK!" He jumped back once more, this time tangling his hooves up in his mane and jerking his head back.

: The clumsy movement resulted in him falling backwards, splayed out in the water as a fresh wave washed over him. He batted at the water, as if that would fend it off, and sat himself up, coughing and sputtering. He'd likely get a talking to later about being more observant. What if it was an enemy!? He couldn't run tangled up the way he was! Oh he should have listened to Rotem and put something in his hair to hold it back. "I'm sorry I didn't do it! I-" He peeked out from his hair once more, blinking. She...had wings!

: "You're...a goddess?"

Mut:
Mutes stepped forward to catch the God with his large paw, but strangely found the approaching goddess a distraction. 'sup'? What did that even mean? Mutes blinked than stepped defensively in front of Li, who's observation skills were at the moment incredible.

He would have to give the 'you need to be more careful' speech latter. He wouldn't want to degrade Li in front of a stranger. A very strange stranger...

Mutes looked from the bird to the goddess trying to spark some memory of who she might be. He had never seen her before nor had any hint of a domain. She didn't look dangerous, but would can't be too careful.

Cael:

Awkward silence bloomed. Cael eyes settled between the two gods, narrowing from behind her black frames. She scooted closer; just a bit more, and she'd be close enough to breathe on them. But that would be creepy. Too creepy. As another layer of ice quickly sought to cap off what gaping entrance she had created, the Goddess quirked a single brow upward.

"Is- that what I am? I could have sworn these wings were tied onto my back." She sounded amused, playful banter flowing from her maw as her curiosity attempted to take a jab at what exactly she had absentmindedly intruded on. A breath of relief escaped from her maw followed by a contagious grin which broadened nearly from ear to ear. "At least someone had shed some light on that conundrum."

Likewise, Adara seemed to liven up just a bit as the unexpected encounter seemed to be less of a disaster than she had originally thought it to be. Shifting atop the goddess's head, the toucan flapped her wings and, with a small hop, landed upon the feline's shoulder, roosted in a more comfortable position. One that was more or less closer to the action, so to speak. Clawed talons grappled gently at both fur and cloth that encompassed Individuality's neck. She was awfully nosy.

Cael canted her head slightly to the side. Her mismatched eyes soaked in their form with a holy envy. They were certainly unique individual- one handsome with what could be portrayed as a rugged exterior while the other, much smaller male, encompassed a familiar hint of... something. She squinted for a moment and yet nothing seemed to come to mind although, inside, something continued to prod her to divulge on the matter. But that would have to wait. For now Cael was amused, to say the least.

"Hell yeah!" She shouted, chest puffing with pride. "I'm Individuality," she gestured, a paw drawn toward her chest as it pressed up against her scarf, "or if you'd rather be more formal my name's Cael." Lazily pulling her paw back to cross upon her forlorn fore paw, she chuckled. How could she forget that brilliant bird of hers?

"And the lump of beak and feathers to my right," she inclined with a turn of her head, "is Adara- my mentor. Although I've never been fond of the idea having to take advice from a little hornbill-"

"Toucan," the avian interjected.

"Right."

There was nothing better than having a bit of fun and ruffling a few feathers. "I've never been fond of the idea of having to take advice from a toucan. But I guess it's just one of my quirks... or misfortunes. Take your pick."

Adara leered at the so called clever cat, clopping her beak with a discrete 'watch it' warning. All was fair in feisty friendships and Cael had fabulously sunk one of the few chances she had left which were floating against the tide of truce. For the moment it seemed that the choice method of payback was set up in simple equation:

Herd of hungry impala + Caels' hair = Flawless.

Settling back with a small smirk, the toucan turned her attention toward the gods.

"You'd be best to keep your distance from this one," she advised. "Her lack of manners are infectious like a plague. She should have opted for conformity rather than individuality."

Cael only beamed derisively with a fanged grin. A chuckle rose from out of her chest as she wiggled her brows. "She's just got her feathers in a mess of horlicks. Don't mind her."

This was going nowhere.

"So," Adara began, "what brings you out here? Or perhaps a better question to ask is where are we?"

"Are you being dragged by your restless paws or is there a motive behind your wanderlust?" Cael added. "No one really ventures out here without a reason unless they're straight up out of ideas to engage their curiosity. Although you seem like you two know this place like the back of your paw."

Li Wei:
Li fussed with his mane as he watched the exchange between god and familiar. It reminded him that his mortal form was missing some kind of creature to pose as his bonded. Within the pride, he'd never be seen as a true member without one. It was supposed to be a representative of one's own soul, without one, he wasn't truly an adult. He'd have to keep an eye out for one during his travels.

The young god managed to untangle himself and toss his mane back off to one side. It was still a horrible mess, now complete with a strand of seaweed, some small shell fragments, sand, and even a hermit crab that had attached himself to one of the long locks hanging over his face. He blew upwards and settled himself on all fours, trembling in the cold as the sea water soaked him through to the flesh under his scales.

"Oh... I.. I-I gotta travel a lot... I have to f-find the other prr-r-r-rr-ides. I come here to rest sometimes... I have a sp-spot-t-t-t-t-t to sleep in. 'Heve said I need my r-r-rest.... or I'll get wrinkles...">

Mut:
Mutes relaxed slightly when the pair only proved to be very loud, but not a threat. Instead he focused on getting Li out of the cold water and helping him warm up by keeping very close. The lady's questions went unanswered by the courage god. It wasn't that he wished to be rude, he just didn't care to share the information and wasn't one for unnecessary conversation. Most of the time.
PostPosted: Fri Jul 30, 2010 5:47 pm

Cael:
"You have to find other prides? just for kicks or to help pass the time?" It seemed strange although there was something endearing about those who let their souls be taken hostage by the desire of wanderlust. Everyone needed a little bit of adventure, right? Of course. What was life without a little mischief and mayhem. She pursed her lips before her mind was swept away, lost within the rambling thought as well as a very delayed realization.

Wrinkles?

Were they really so trivial? The mere thought concerning the fear of something so trivial only caused Cael to chuckle although she tried to muffle the escaping laughs as best she could. Continually she had to remind herself to breath, to breathe deeply and not make too much of a scene. She had already done a stand up job at making a scene and there was no point in getting too out of control. Believe it or not she did have morals as well as boundaries.

Well at least there was some form of engaging conversation although the larger god seemed occupied. Was he talkative, shy perhaps, or simply coarse? No individual acted nor bore the same predictable qualities and traits- surly that’s what made individuality so unpredictable and refreshing. She swayed her tail with an inkling of thought, quietly observing as the other seemed to use his large stature as a makeshift blanket to wrap around the younger god.

Rising up from her sun bathed rock, the goddess wrinkled her muzzle. Her paws stumbled slightly as she stepped down into the silky sands and approached the two. Adara cocked her head to the side, anxiously engaged to see what here feline cohort was concocting.

Cael took another step closer, exhaling softly as she looked at the smaller god and settled down on her haunches. Her plush, tapered tail slowly slithered about the sands with a meek presence before encompassing around him. It was a small and a simple gesture but perhaps it meant more than she herself realized- to her it was just instinct. It seemed like an easy solution to the current predicament.

“Sorry- no one’s allowed to freeze, let alone die, while I’m around. It’s a law.” Individuality smirked with a wink as she glanced up towards the older god for a moment before blowing at the bangs which bombarded her face.

“Wooo, this is hard work.”

Li Wei:
Li nuzzled closer to Mut and sighed as Cael added her warmth to the fur pile. If he'd been anyone else, it would have been awkward. However, he had never been lectured on the value of personal space. He took comfort in the warmth and the kindly company. Having been raised in a pride surrounded by one of the harshest of deserts, the cold was a shock to him. Cael may notice that in drawing close to him, he carried a heavy scent of sandalwood. A relaxing, musky odor that replaced what most animals would have in place of a natural scent. His aura was relaxing, calming, and gentle. As if nothing in the world could go wrong. Fish and other prey beasts never scattered in his presence. Sadly enough, it was his greatest defense.

"Thank you." He mumbled against Mut's forepaw, offering Cael a soft smile. "It's...it's my job. I have to judge them... see if they're peaceful, I make their ruler's reign a good one. If they aren't, I have to run. So I gotta travel a lot. There's so many prides..."
PostPosted: Fri Jul 30, 2010 7:17 pm

Mut:
The sign of affection was something seen by very few. His nose wrikled briefly at Cael's approach to Li, but slowly relaxed when Li showed now sign of fear. Ceal didn't seem like a terrible lioness and he didn't see her as a threat. The action was more of a habit and a warning. Mutes couldn't comprehend how vocal this one was. It wasn't annoying in the least, just odd. Unknowingly to himself he continually shot Cael side glaces, taking in her design.
