No seriously.
I think that America especialy should shift their primary meat consumption to rabbit rather than cow. Rabbits are more cheaply, safely, easily and hygenicly raised in captivity
* they breed faster
* they require less land and enrgy consumption to raise
* they still have the byproducts of leather and ferilizer
* the do not have the cow massive methane flatulence problem and do not require the vast deforestation for grazing land that cows do so if rabbits replaced cows in the agribusiness meatconsumption industry it would considerably reduce the environmental damage
* they are a versatile source of protien, tender but less fatty and more heart-friendly than cows
I think that McDonalds and other leading American fast-food chains should switch over to Bunny-burgers.
I know the argument could be made that bunnies are cute, cuddley and loveable where cows are not, however if we use that as a reason to not slaughter and consume them by that same token we might as well kill off all the ugly and disagreeable human children to make the wolrd better for those more asthetically pleasing.
I respect that some opt for a vegan or vegetarian lifestyle, whether it's for political, ethical or religious reasons, and aren't contributing to the cow problem (except those of whom still wear leather and use glue) but what excuse is there for the rest of us?

I would if I could but then everyone is all. "They're so cute." or they might get the rabies one by accident.

Maybe because of the whole pet factor, no one wants to feel even more guilty about being a meat eater

I used to have bunnies when i was little. We weren't trying to breed them but a few rabbits very quickly truned into 50. I loved them! We used to let them run allover the yard mowing and fertilizing the grass for us xd . There was one rabbit that was extra special, Thumper, a big gray and white bunny that was born with a deformed leg that would thump when he hopped-named because he bore a striking resemblance to Bambi's companion and his thumping. He dug a burrow in the yard right before hurricane Eva hit and we couldn't get him out before it hit. His burrow collapsed on him and we nerver saw him again. I cried and cried. It's small consolation that he became fertizer.
Still, rabbits are food. If you look at their body structure they are entirely prey. They breed so much because they are are prey for anything and everything that eats meat.
I don't feel any guilt about eating meat because I take lives. I feel guilt about the political and ecological impact the meat agribusiness has and how I contribute to it.
I don't understand why killing something ugly and not fluzzy and cuddley is more morally acceptable, no why animal lives have more value than plants.Vegetarian and vegans are still killers too, infact they end up taking more lives to feed themselves than than their meat eating couterparts (unless thes subsist entirely on fruits and nuts, inwhich case they will soon die of malnutrition and diarhea).
Either life is sacred and precious or it isn't.
