Things seemed to be so different out in the open lands. Parvati felt open and unprotected, but it was what she had asked for, so she couldn't complain. She just never expected it to be this...unnerving.

With every step, her head was down, ears up and eyes nervously alert. She had been told about these lands ever since she was young- but her mother was fearless. Her mother was brave and hardened, and had a certain determination that Parvati had never inherited. She hadn't inherited any of the qualities that had made her mother great, and it had eaten away at her ever since she was young. Her one brother was a seer, another an heir, and two of them had inherited the same twin gene her father had.

But Parvati? Nothing. She was dull and normal, and she felt that she really just didn't fit in to the pack that her mother had worked so hard to keep at peace. So now she found herself out in open lands, all by herself. Coiling her tail around her leg, she crouched low, feeling tired from walking all day. She was glad that her brown coat would keep her blended in well with the scenery, but couldn't help but feel lonely.

Silverwind was not unused to wandering from the pack lands to look around. He liked to keep his eyes on the borders, not out of fear of attack or for want of keeping strangers out, but rather to welcome any one who might be looking for a good place to stay, or to help a lost soul out if they should need it.

He liked to think of others in positive, optimistic views: anyone passing by didn't have to be a threat. They could just be looking for help. And he would offer it if he needed to, just as anyone in his pack would.

The sun was just setting, the pack beginning to wake up for the night, but he had been up for a while now, walking in the dim light of the evening. He saw a shadow moving across the open lands and tilted his head in wonder, He could recognize the shape of a wild dog, since he was so used to them, and he spotted that it was small and seemed nervous. She looked scared?

She needed help, he decided.

He moved over toward her, walking with his tail up and a smile on his face. When he drew close he tried to make his body reflect his innocent intentions. No one was attacking anyone right now, and he'd like to keep it that way.

"Hello there! Oh, are you just going to bed? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt." Whoops. He sometimes forgot most wild dogs were awake during the day and slept at night.

Keeping her head up, Parvati's blue eyes popped out against her fur as she looked about. The land reeked of many others- it was almost comforting, because it reminded her of her pack. Her pack....the sound of those words stung a little.

It wasn't that she hated it. Rather, she just wanted a fresh start, somewhere where she could be someone other than just 'the Sheikh's daughter.' There weren't any restrictions, but it seemed like that was the only thing others saw her as.

It wasn't overly surprising that she heard a voice call out to her. She was, after all, near some sort of gathering of creatures. But the one that approached her seemed friendly, which eased her mind a bit. "Um...no?" His words, though, were more than confusing. "I was just..." Just what? In truth, she didn't know what she was doing. She had just left so suddenly, without a plan or anything. "I'm...Parvati." Smiling shyly, she's at least try to be friendly.

"Good! I can never tell when wild dogs are going to bed or just getting up around here." He grinned at her, an action that was much like his father in his younger days. Risktaker had sobered these days, with the responsibility of such a big family, but he was still a big influence on his son. Who was wagging his tail enthusiastically.

"It's nice to meet you, Parvati. I'm Silverwind. You're in the Peke Na territory, if you didn't know. Are you coming to visit? Lost maybe?" He tilted his head, all questions.

He wanted to help her. He couldn't be blamed, as his father had always told them to be kind, and the urge to help others seemed to run through every member of the Peke Na. It was their way, or at least his way.

He smiled.

"Either way, welcome!"
