A lot of conraversy has rose concerning the hiding of pictures of flag draped caskets carrying our fallen soldiers.

I think that is wrong. Any American who values the sacrafices of our soldiers would look at Old Glory shielding our dead and feel two things at once:

Immense pride for freedom and liberty

And the solemn emotion of sorrow for the loss and price freedom requires.

Inside each of those coffins, under each of those American Flags is an American. And not just a person born in the United States...but an AMERICAN. A man or woman who gave up their life do serve the nation they love.

And we ought to honor our sacred dead.

Whatever their reasons for serving, they served regardless. And the men and women in combat today where not forced there...they chose, and I will smite anyone who says they do not deserve our respect and support.

You can hate the war, and the men who send them to war. But by God; Do not hate the men who fight it. They do so because they do as they are told, but they signed up because they wanted to.

Just took the poll and I can't believe that anyone would choose the second option, let alone two people. Some people have no class!
This is a touchy subject, however. I don't like the idea of caskets being put on display in any shape or form. I believe death is something that is sacred and should be honored. Not put on display, because some of the people out there taking pictures are not doing it out of respect. But I don't agree with hiding the flag in the pictures. The flag is not treated nowadays like it should be.

Not yet, considering I'm only 16.
I would like to follow in my father's footsteps and become a Marine.
