xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxBIRDIE

"You guys lied to me!"

The younger twin pouted and crossed his arms, glaring playfully at his brother and the fairy. If Peter Pan wouldn't have lost his shadow again, Birdie and his friends wouldn't have been bored. Then the trio wouldn't have gone off to search for pirates to fight. It was all Peter's fault!

"You're the one that wanted ta come here," Benji pointed out, making the younger one pout even more.

Sighing to himself, Birdie started to pace around, not sure what to do anymore. He had wanted the two three of them to go on a great adventure! 'Sage will only wanna come to ruin the fun...' Birdie glanced over at the little ball of light. It's not that Birdie hated Sage, but sometimes he felt that the fairy never really wanted to hang out with the twins. He acted more like a parent than a friend, which Birdie found a little annoying and gross. 'At least he's lighting up a little, and is better than Tink.'

Jumping up on a few rocks, Birdie looked down at the other two before glancing around the place. It wasn't as scary as most of the other Lost Boys thought, and it seemed like it would make a nice secret hideout. "Hey guys, guess who I am!" he called out to them, his voice echoing throughout the place. He flee up a few inches, making sure his legs were slightly spread and his hands were resting comfortably on his hips before he let out that famous crow known throughout the island.

"I-Is... that supposed to be Peter?"

Birdie glared at his twin once more, another pout appearing on his face, "Yeeeaaah!" Landing on the rock, he sighed and kicked at the ground. Sometimes people, even his brother and Sage, just didn't get him. Slowly, he started to hop down to where the others were, but stopped halfway. "Hey, what's that!" he exclaimed, jumping back up and running to the other side of Skull Rock.

Birdie stopped in front of this big wooden door covered in moss and tilted his head back so that he could get a better look at it. The younger heard some commotion behind him, which was probably his companions. Normally he would have looked back to see what they were talking about, but the door had his complete attention.

Billions of thought were running thought the Lost Boy's head as he stood there, but only one stood out, 'Our adventure will be bigger than Peter's!' Moving away some of the moss, Birdie grabbed the doorknob. "Benji, com' on," he called out to his brother as he slowly opened the door, "let's go see what's in here!"

Sageblossom

Sage rolled his eyes at the younger twin, as he did most every day when he spent his time with the twins. At least he didn’t have to be the reason for the moment; Benji seemed to be taking that position for now. ’At least one of them has a brain,’ he thought hopelessly, while Birdie pouted about the apparent lying that Sage and Benji had done.

A little more than bored, Sage flew to Benji and landed on the elder twin’s shoulder, brushing his hair out of his eyes. He always pulled the scarlet tresses into a ponytail before their “adventures.” Birdie’s imitation of the Lost Boys’s leader was almost remarkable, if Sage didn’t see the same from every other Lost Boy on the island. The crow was average, but what did Sage know?

A small tinkling of bells filled the air as the fairy sighed. Birdie sure seemed to pout an awful lot. Sage found him more childish and more annoying than his older, identical twin. Sure, they both loved a good game and some adventure, but Birdie was definitely more obnoxious about it. Not to mention easily distracted. Birdie was already leaping about just because he had seen something shiny.

Well, Sage could only assume what he had seen. Probably an empty treasure chest, or a forgotten blade of a pirate. Benji climbed up the rocks after his twin, calling, ”Wait for us, Birdie!” Sage launched off the boy’s shoulder, flying up and over the boulders. He jingled, almost furiously, but more in a parental, protective sort of way.

”You don’t even know where that door leads!” he exclaimed, floating in front of Birdie sternly, folding his arms tightly over his chest. ”Why don’t you think a little bit before jumping into the unknown!”

What happened in the next few moments would be debated about for years to come in Neverland. Some say that Birdie shooed the fairy too strongly, sending him into the darkness of the door. Others claim that the fairy dragged Birdie in to teach him a lesson. However, the truth was much simpler than that.

Benji had been struggling with the rock face, and while Sage chastised Birdie, the older twin’s footing slipped, and he fell. In order to break his fall, Benji rolled just as he hit the ground, and when he came up, he crashed right into Birdie. The younger twin fell forward, his hands flailing to grab at anything for purchase. Bells tolled loudly as Sage shrieked when Birdie’s little hand wrapped around him, and the fairy fell into the darkness after Birdie.

Rubbing at his head, for he had rolled right into the frame of the large door, Benji got to his feet and glanced around cluelessly for his friend and brother, only to find that the door had slammed shut after them. The doorknob was nowhere to be found. With wide eyes, Benji rushed off of Skull Island and back to the Lost Boys, frantic and yelling.
