Bataro's move.

Bataro Gambin, a Half Oni, lived in a remote human village for a long time. His mother was a human who never told him about his horn. Everyone in the village never told him either as he was kind and never did anything evil. One unfortunate day, The village was being attacked by a strong Youkai.
“So many tender human. I can't choose!” The creature Roared with excitement, walking around with four long legs. Everyone was running in terror to find safety. But then, Bataro stood in front of the creature, stunned at his horn. “Who are you?” The Youkai bellowed, his head looking at Bataro's face. “I am Bataro Gambin, And you will not harm anyone else!” He yelled, summoning cards to create a sword and shield. The Youkai backed up with a shocked expression. “Gambin?!”. Bataro did not hesitate for a second, throwing more cards at the creature first, following a swing to it's legs. The swing cut off one whole side, bringing him to the ground. Bleeding to near death the beast asked “W-why do you help humans. H-half Oni?” before submitting to his wounds. “Half Oni?” Bataro repeated as the villagers started to cheer around him. Bataro walked away from the crowd and back to his house, ignoring the people calling for him.

At home, he walked up to his mother who by now is in her late forties. “Mom? Am I a Half Oni?” Bataro asked hanging his head low. His mother got up slowly, holding a mirror. She showed his reflection in it, saying in a depressing tone “You are, Bataro. Your father was an Oni from hell but I loved him till he...left the village. Everyone rejected him and were going to kill you when you were born, but I was able to convince them to let you stay. As you grew, we kept your horn a secret and never could tell you why you were so strong for your age.”. Bataro felt his horn he noticed in the mirror. A one foot horn which bent at the halfway point downwards. “I thought it was some branch or a defect...” He said, feeling deceived by everyone. His mother then pushed him back outside “Now, go back out and celebrate your victory with everyone. There will be Sake.”.

The next morning, Bataro was up early. He sat outside and wondered if he should leave the village or stay. He returned home at his usual wake up time to hear someone else was in the house. He prepared three cards if the person was an intruder. After entering the big room, he noticed his mother talking to another woman with long blond hair and holding a sake dish. “Oh Bataro, This Oni here said that she can bring you to where your father was born.” His mother said. The blond turned around and looked at him with a smirk. The red horn on her head made it clear what she was. “So you are Bataro Gambin? You have your father's horn.” She said while getting up, towering over Bataro. “My name is Yuugi Hoshiguma. I come from the Ancient City, and heard from a small friend of mine that there was a Half Oni here.” She looked down at him with a big smile. Bataro looked at Yuugi with a straight face. “That makes my choice a lot easier to make.” Bataro exclaimed while looking outside. “I wish to move to Hell. Even as a Half Oni, I wish to not bring too much trouble and misfortune to this village.” he looked back at Yuugi and his mother. Yuugi walked up to Bataro and placed a hand on his shoulder. “Are you sure? There are some other Onis down there that would love to 'break' you in.” Yuugi said, concerned. His mother said not one word as she accepted this choice. Bataro turned to look at Yuugi with a very serious look. “That is what you are there for. I want you to take me in till I can find a place of my own. I don't eat much and I tend to drink rarely unless it was an occasion or they offered it.”. Yuugi smiled, then chuckled “Don't worry! I can help you find a place. Plus I have friends who can show you around.”

As the sun was setting, Bataro waved goodbye to his village as he met up with Yuugi and a smaller Oni named Suika ready to help him into hell. “You sure about this? It's not like they wanted to kill you anytime soon?” Suika asked with her gourd in hand. Bataro replied “I am. I mostly want to see how my father lived and maybe find some clues as to where he is. I wish to know more about him and how he met my mother.”. As they reached the entrance to the village, Bataro looked around as a smile came across his face. Yuugi then turned to look at Bataro, his face hitting her chest by accident from not looking. “You are now in a part of Hell. Since you are bunking with me for a time, just follow my rules.” she said as Bataro backed up from her bust. “As you say, Big sister.” he exclaimed, with a playful smile.
