Chapter 21: Time & Space
The Scales are Arceus' greatest weapon. They maintain the balance of the world.
Light and darkness united in one mythical device.
When darkness begins to rise, the scales tip and send the world tumbling into chaos.
When light begins to rise, the scales are lifted and the world becomes filled with a glow that obscures the sight of all.
To exist the scales must be level and in perfect harmony.
There was once a time when they tipped to the breaking point, but because of Arceus' chosen warrior this error was corrected.
The world was saved and the hero settled into a peaceful life, never to repeat his victory...
Until the same problem arises and his descendants must make a stand...

"Grandfather! Please! It's important that you remember how you fixed the scales before! We need a lead of some kind!"
Solaris cried out, but the old Espeon was not paying attention in the slightest. He was far more interested in his tail and was chasing it in circles.
The younger psychic sighed in defeat and returned to pacing in panic before the large collection of books that were stacked up high on and near his desk.
Selena was idly flipping through the pages of one of said books without much interest.
They've already been through most the volumes without finding a thing.
"You'd think they'd write stories if someone saved the world."
"Grandfather wasnt big on publicity in his youth, you know. He asked that it be kept out of the pages of history."
"...makes our job a bit harder, doesnt it?" The Umbreon glanced to the aged psychic with a frown as he attempted to climb the curtains of a nearby window.
"Well, there has to be some way of finding out!" She swept a paw across the table, knocking multiple books off.
"There is~"
Came a small voice and both siblings glanced around in confusion, their gazes both falling on a small figure hovering just out the window.
"You've got to be kidding me..."

Solaris---Selena---Orion
What hovered before them was a petite Celebi, shiny-colored with the pale pinks and lime greens. Its mouth widened into a whimsical smile as though it knew something they did not, and perhaps this was true.
“What did you mean?” Solaris was the first to overcome his shock at the legendaries appearance.
The Celebi gave no reply yet; she cast her large sparkly eyes across the room and shook her head as though disappointed.
“Well, if you truly wish to know how Orion restored the balance before then the only way is to go back and watch him accomplish his task once again.”
“Are you referring to time travel?” Selena hissed, hackles raised and bristling. She trusted no legendary as far as she could throw them and for a quadruped creature that was not far at all.
“What else would a Celebi be referring too? Time travel is my forte, granted Dia has always been better at it.”
The siblings exchanged glances, and both began having the same idea albeit Selena’s registered far more quickly.
“If you appear to us now, does this mean we were MEANT to go back? Does some event we participate in help shape the future?”
“That would be a time paradox, wouldn’t it? My head hurts just thinking about it…”
“Your head always hurts, idiot.”
The Umbreon huffed, attention back on the Celebi.
“If we decide to go back then that meant we’ve already chosen that option and have already gone back and that would mean that we did have a hand in what occurred, but if we say no then does that mean we were meant to say no or was that a…I think my brain just exploded.”
“Sometimes it’s best not to think too hard about these things, you may hurt yourself. Details aside, I assure you that if you chose to go it will cause no problems.”Once more the twins cast each other a look, neither wishing to agree first.
Finally Solaris sighed and motioned to the alarm bell. “Alert the guild, sister. We are apparently going back in time.”
The Celebi smiled broadly.
“I am Mia, by the way. It will be a pleasure to save the world with you~”

 Stella"Wheeeeeeee~"
A bright, sparkly light circled around the Celebi known as Mia.
With a bright flash, another girlish legendary was on the scene.
"Isn't it funny that places hail us as legendary, yet around here we seem to be everywhere?~" Stella giggled.
She waved a tiny paw to Mia and smiled.
"Hi! My name's Stella~"

  Suki & LunaA pair of slim, rather dangerous-looking females slipped into the room after Stella, remaining rather unnoticed by everyone in the vicinity. Both wore rather displeased expressions, and the Marowak twirled her bone club in her fingers threateningly as the pair spoke to eachother in hushed undertones.
Bits and pieces of their whispered conversation drifted around the room.
"-going to have to-"
"-she can't stay-"
"-too full already."
"-replaced."
After a few minutes of soft chatter, the disgruntled females fell silent, watching the two Guildmasters and their chosen company with questioning eyes. There didn't seem to be any sort of disruption, although the Celebi hovering near the window certainly raised a few questions.

   ~ Armand~ Veronica~ Damon~ The trio of pokemon that have been commonly known to represent Team Lunar Curtain entered the room cautiously. It had been horribly shameful for them to miss out on such a large battle, and showing their faces now would seem cowardly. As the leader, Armand was the most embarrassed, but was determined to salvage what was left of his team's reputation by showing up to this little gathering. Veronica soon spotted the two representatives of Team Stormcloud and let out a small gasp. What had happened to Luna?! The last she had seen of her, she had been a small normal looking Cubone, but now... just wow. Veronica could only begin to imagine what had happened to her. Damon on the other hand was quite intent at staring dreamily at Suki, it had been far too long since they had had some nice alone time... Seems like Armand was the only one who was completely focused enough to notice that there was not one, but two legendary pokemon in the room. He could barely fathom what would cause this.

~Trev~ ~Klash~ ~Urvine~ ~Scrap~ Team Without a Cause rushed into the room when the alarm was sounded. They had no idea what was going on, especially Urvine and Scrap who just recently joined there team. Trev and Klash quickly explained that the alarm meant something was happening within the guild. Trev was riding on Urvine's back while his co-leader and recruit stood on either side of him. They noticed that several teams had already shown up to the gathering. Klash was the first to spot the two legendary Pokemon in the room. Klash stared at them with a gaping mouth, wondering what in the hell was going on.

" Are we sure this is wise, Solaris? I understand that Celebi are often trustworthy, but it seems a bit rash to trust someone who says that time travel will simply cause "no problems". Especially without an explanation." He spoke openly, although he took care to prevent his words from echoing throughout the halls. Mia, however, could hear them quite clearly. Sam had come to the hall after asking what the alarm was about. Albus had told him to go check. When Sam refused, Albus said " If you don't go check, I'll oust you." So, needless to say, Sam came to the main hall. It was much preferable to being jailed, even if being around so many people (all of which were quasi-police) made him nervous as hell. Thankfully, he'd managed to perfect the fake skin to cover his legs. Mind you, if it was a quiet place anyone would hear the slight sounds of their operation, but in this kind of a crowd... " Arceusdammit I hate that stupid brat sometimes." Also, he brought ASAR with him. He's a Porygon, he gets taken places! A slight crack sounded near the guildmaster. Anyone familiar with the lines would recognize them as two servants of Pluto Eclipse's household. The Azumarill stepped forward from her Cyndaquil companion and waited quietly until she could speak with Solaris. Whenever such an opportunity would present itself, she would speak. " Pardon my intrusion, master Eclipse. Master Pluto sent us to find out" Lia paused, adjusting her tone to something a tad more grumpy. " What the hell is going on!?"

  Noelle & Tessa
Noelle and Tessa were chatting away in their room about the ocean and all things wet when the alarm went off. Noelle left Kira sleeping and hoped that Dash would know not to go to the mission without Noelle.
The Vaporeon rolled her eyes at the thought of Dash, she would need a little time away from him after all that adventuring. She turned and started towards the center of the guild, a orange Milotic slithering not far behind.
Once there, they saw a Celebi and a Mew conversing. "Wow, this is the first time I've seen either of those Pokemon." She marveled and wanted to ask them things, but stayed around the perimeter instead of launching herself into the middle.

StellaStella's still flying around in circles, giggling like a tard.  DokuDoku bolted into the room, his ears and tail flicking.
"We heard the alarm! What's going on?!" He cried, looking around.
He then laid eyes on Solaris and Selena.
Were they really his cousins?

Zori & Suki & LunaZori darted into the room after Doku, her leafy tail flicking in confusion as she realized that the scene within the room was relatively calm. Normally the bell was rung in an emergency; if the guild was under attack. She stuck close to Doku, pricking her ears as she spotted Suki and Luna nearby.
Ketsueki and Luna drifted over toward Team Lunar Curtain, the Mismagius wrapping her arm tenderly around Damon's. She kissed his cheek gently in a silent greeting.
Luna hung back slightly, nodding to Veronica. She turned her head, glancing back at Solaris and Selena. They still hadn't explained what was going on. It would probably take them a moment, as others might still be gathering to listen in.

"I understand that, Tolin. But so far this is our only lead and..."
"If I may interject, your royal dumbass."
Solaris turned to see that Alfred, in his usual callous manner, had followed them.
"Give the Celebi a psychic evaluation to see if she's trustworthy-ah, sorry. Forgot you cant. Allow me."
He turned to where the voice was giggling above with the Mew and raised a hand.
"Dont trust me, Mr. Gardevoir?~"
"No. I do not. Now hold still."
The legendary complied and after a moment Alfred grumbled something along the lines of 'she's fine'.
"So, she's trustworthy? This isnt a trap?"
"Well, she isnt lying about this not altering time, but as far as the trap thing. I wouldnt know..."
Solaris nodded and turned to the guild.
"Those of you willing, we are heading back in time to view events long past that may help the guild now. If you wish to come, then step through the portal when it appears."
He redirected his gaze to Mia and she laughed whimsically.
"Mind staying here, Mr. Gardevoir? I could use a powerful psychic to help return us to this time when we are ready~"
"Why not. Like I wanted to go prancing through the past anyways."
With a swing of her arms the Celebi made a spiral of colors appear behind her and those colors began to twirl and form the shape of a circle.
"Step on through!"
Solaris and Selena both glanced back to Orion,who was sleeping in a corner, before stepping forward.

The portal swirled in dazzling vortex of many colors, blues blending with greens and reds swirling with yellows. Flames danced about, only to be crushed by rolling ocean-colored waves.
Solaris felt his stomach heave as they began to spiral downward out of the funnel-like portal before dropping to the ground in a forested area.
The Espeon stood, heaving, only to have the air knocked out of him when Selena fell from the portal right on his back.
“OOF!”
“Where are we?”
“On my back. Kindly get off.”
Solaris grumbled, and his sister leapt to the side to allow him to stand. Once he was back on his feet, the psychic examined the area around them with a frown.
“You don’t recognize it?” Mia giggled, “Your standing on where the Palace of the Sun will be built in the future. Though it does not look it, although we went back in time, we did not move to another location. “
Now that he thought about it, this area did look familiar. Solaris lifted his head to gaze at the Inferno Mountain off in the distance, in what would be the Guild of Blazing Fire’s territory later.
The Celebi spiraled about and hovered directly overhead before shifting into a more discrete form.
Solaris starred at the pink and green Eevee before him and cocked his head to the side.
“What are you-“
“It would not be wise for me to be seen. Nor should any of you reveal your true names to anyone here. The Pokémon we are all about to meet are long gone by our time. Only a handful survive the upcoming battle and they die of old age long before any of you are born. Worry not over whether Orion and Andromeda will recognize you. Andromeda is not here at the moment, and Orion will forget these events later.”
“Why are they so shattered, my Grandfather’s memories?”
The pink Eevee dipped its head. “You will learn, soon enough.”
Past the trees before them a loud chorus of voices was heard. Glancing back to his guild, Solaris nodded once before leading the way ahead where they entered a clearing filled with tents and many Pokémon moving about. No one seemed to pay them any attention until a very regal looking Swellow approached with a hop.
“Ah, you must be our support! It took all of you long enough to get here.”
“I-I’m sorry, we aren’t your support but-“
“We would very much like to help!”
Mia cut in, dancing forward in her lithe little Eevee body.
“My uncle and I, as well as our friends, we heard of this battle and wished to assist! You would have to give us the rundown first, though. We’d very much like to know what were up against!”
The Swellow glanced to the young Eevee who seemed to be doing all the talking and then to her ‘uncle’, who was smiling nervously.
“Eh? You’re an odd bunch to be sure, but beggars can’t be choosers and we need the help. Alright, come with me.” The flying type turned and began to walk away.
Mia flashed the group a charming smile before bounding after him and Solaris, with only some hesitation, was quick to follow.
“What did we get ourselves into?” Selena muttered.
The Swellow lead them through the camp and past the line of trees at the end to a cliff edge that overlooked a vast crater in the ground. The skeletons of water type Pokémon littered about, revealed that this was once a lake.
“Horrible isn’t it?” A voice asked from behind the guild as they stood at the edge of the precipice.
Solaris turned to meet the crimson eyes of his own grandfather or at least the Pokémon who would become his grandfather in time. Orion was in his prime, early twenties with glossy gray fur that shimmered like metal over a small a limber frame. His eyes were bright; sparkling with mischief and the gem on his forehead was pure white in color and glinted eerily.
“I am Orion Eclipse. It is a pleasure to meet all of you!”
The ghost of a laugh flickered across his face before he trotted to the edge of the cliff, standing between Solaris and Selena.
“Veilmys informs me that you wish to join our cause, but do not understand exactly what that cause is. I’m not sure whether to commend you for such nobility or to berate you for being fool.
REGARDLESS, I will tell you what I know and then we’ll see if it was bravery or stupidity that leads you all here.”
Selena opened her mouth, possibly to protest the implication that she was stupid, but Solaris flicked his tail up over her mouth to silence her.
Orion regarded the two with a smirk.
“This drought is caused by Darkrai. He has wounded Kyogre and sealed the great water God away in a place where it can not heal its injuries. Without Kyogre to balance the world, Groudon’s power has risen and his Drought causes the sun to burn hot and scorch the land. Lakes and rivers have dried up, no rain will fall. We are all on the verge of death. To free Kyogre we must defeat Darkrai, and so we are gathering as many fighters as we can to combat him and hopefully end this blasted heat.”
The metallic-gray Espeon lifted his twin tails to swipe the beads of sweat from his forehead.
“Still want to join us? We’re heading into a march of death against the Legendary of Darkness himself. Good times, right?”
Before anyone could speak a word, Mia once again skipped forward. “It will be a pleasure to fight with you, Orion~ You have enlisted our services!”
The psychic gave a smile before nodding once, “Wonderful, now if you’ll excuse me. I must rally the others. It is time to begin!” He vanished in a teleport.
Solaris turned to shout angrily at the transformed Celebi but the Swellow from before, Veilmys, interrupted him with a cough.
“I must break down your group in teams. To combat Darkrai we must defeat not only him, but his power source as well. He is drawing energy from a large crystal that was forged by Arceus long ago. It is one of seventeen elemental type crystals. The crystal cannot be destroyed, but we can damage it enough to cut his link to it completely. The red team will join Orion in his fight against Darkrai, the blue team will be lead by Andromeda when she returns and will head straight to the legendaries fortress to take out the crystal.”
The Swellow held out a small bag filled with colored coins. “Draw for your team.”

Zori & Suki & LunaZori hesitated for a moment, and suddenly bolted forward, leaping through the portal with both paws reaching out into the strange aura of the magic around her. A moment later, all four paws were planted firmly on the ground.
She listened to the events, remaining silent through it all, and watching the suddenly no-so-old Orion give them the run-down.
The Leafeon remembered having been told this tale once as a child, although the details of the legend were rather sketchy. Now she could see why. The Espeon before her was rather down-to-business. He didn't care for appearances.
Luna and Suki leaped through together, just after their leader. They went separately from Zori, still rather unsettled from earlier, but they hovered nearby, ready to assist her if needed.

StellaStella pranced around happily, absolutely adoring her new form.
"Eevees are so cute!~" She squeaked happily.
The new Eevee ran into the portal, looking around curiously.
When they were suddenly addressed by Orion himself, she wasn't really listening.
Instead, she sat down on her haunches and began chewing happily on her fluffy tail. DokuDoku looked over to Zori and licked her muzzle.
"Let's go..." He said softly.
With a deep breath, the Leafeon stepped into the portal.
Doku looked around frantically as they were suddenly all sent back in time.
Soon enough, he found himself face to face with what could possibly be his own grandfather.
"Um, Mr. Orion, sir?" The Leafeon asked, taking a step forward.
"Do... Do you recognize me at all?"
Doku didn't really understand that they were in the past, far before he was even born.

~Trev~ ~Klash~ ~Urvine~ ~Scrap~
The team hesitated before stepping through the portal, mostly Urvine who had absolutely no idea what was going on. "Well, what else to we have to do?" Trev said simply, signaling for Urvine to step through the portal. The rest of his team follow, and soon they were spiraling down to an unknown place.
Klash was the only one to land on her feet, the rest of her team ended up crashing into the ground. Trev was nearly being crushed by the large Torkoal on top of him. Klash shoved Urvine off of her leader and they followed the other teams. They watched the events unfold in a eerie silence (which was strange) and when it came time, Klash reached into the bag and pulled out a colored coin.
