Forte had wanted a dragon practically from the time she first laid eyes on one. They were cool, loving creatures that seemed helpful, or just fun to have around. And so when Alto showed up she had been ecstatic! The male dragon was so cool looking and since he was a present from her grandmother made him that much more special.
Except he was a nascence. Almost every word from his mouth was 'Mistress Forte please do no....' or 'Mistress Forte, you grandmother Harmonius...' and usually right after this he proceeded to kill any fun she was having or planning to have.
This, was a key example. Picking up the instrument she gave the dragon a look that could only be described as nervous dislike. "And you want me to play this?" Holding out the violin to Alto she motioned with her paw the full length of the musical device, clearly not to happy at the thought of it.

Roma was, at a glance, not a typical Spartan. But then again, neither was his mother, so maybe he'd gotten it from her.
Offer him a gun or a piano, his first instinct is to find someone who could play brilliant music. A CD Player would be better suited for him than facing down enemy fire any day, not that he was any good on the field to begin with.
He spotted the distressed Forte and his first instinct was to head in her direction, his gaze on the violin with a piqued interest. "Do you play Wifey?" He cooed, tail wagging as he plopped down carelessly at her side.

"Indeed. Why else would I have found you such an instrument if I did not expect you to play it? Such a thought is absurd." Staring seriously at his charge he looked the perfect stuck up music snob. And Forte detested it.
"Now listen here Alto I wonT!" Jumping in surprise she turned around to spot a rather dashing young man in all his glory. "O...oh Roma!" A light blush dusted her cheeks cutely and she looked down at the contraption she held in her paws. "N...no I don't. Alto was trying to uh teach me." She smiled at him and cocked her head. "Do you play?"
Alto lay at a distance, watching the scene with squinted eyes. Intently replaying the young mans greeting over and over in his head.

Roma smiled, his teeth a dazzling white in contrast to his fur, "Well, no... not violin....?" His effort at a lacking answer failed, he cleared his throat lightly, "The only thing I've tried is well... a harp." His cheeks flushed, assuming she would poke fun at the fact a harp was an effeminate instrument, another mark against him in proving his heterosexuality. He suddenly realized something and spoke again, "Who's Alto?" He looked around, assuming it was another noodle and overlooking the familiar easily.

Oh lord he really shouldn't smile like that. Trying to contain herself Forte could feel the blush rise even higher in her cheeks and prayed to the Goddess that Roma didn't notice.
Hiding her face Forte delicately laid the instrument of torcher down, gently wiping any dust off it to stall for time. "Oh really? That's unique. I don't think even my mother plays harp....though I'm sure she knows how. It's hard to measure up musically to the angel of music." Laughing lightly she finally stood, her own grin in place and her composure set....until she saw those freckled cheeks flushed their own red. "Oh Alto's my familiar, that cranky thing is him."
Gesturing with her paw she used the stall time to quickly let her hair down, successfully framing her face and, the real reason for taking them out of their usual position, hiding most of her flaming blush.
Alto was watching the scene with an intent interest that could rival a *****. It seemed to him that his mistress was head over heals for this male. More perplexing was his greeting, were perhaps these two mated? The thought was startling and outrageous. They already had one harlot in the family, Forte was not going to follow in her mother's shoes. That was the true reason Alto was here, and he would follow his true mistresses word till his death. "Greetings, Sir Roma. I am Alto as my mistress has already announced."

Roma's gaze seemed to hold no ill-bearing for the familiar as he bowed his head lightly, "Please, you needn't worry yourself with calling me 'Sir', just Roma is fine." He tucked a strand of Forte's hair away from her face, merely distracted with the color rather than trying to make her blush any more, "Angel of Music? Should I worry that she wears half a mask?" A teasing smile played on his lips, "I'm sure you can play just as miraculously as Antonio Vivaldi, given the chance."

Well at least the boy had manners, that was much better then could be said for others who held the affection of Forte. And, judging by his appearence he seemed a full blooded Spartan, a proud lineage if there was one. He even played Harp a noble instrument that Mistress Harmonius enjoyed perhaps highest of all sting instruments. Interesting....."Very well Si....I mean Roma."
How did others get along so well with her familiar?! It was an annoying trait he had, charming others while being such an obnoxious prude to her, the way he bossed her around ticked her off so much....
Her eyes quickly met Roma's as she felt his paw brush lightly against her cheek, the strand he had placed staying behind her ear with barely any strength, almost remaining thanks to his will that it remain. A soft blush and her own small teasing smile appeared, though her eyes mostly held suppressed affection for him which shone brightly. "Oh mother doesn't wear masks, the only mask she wears is one which hides her negative emotions." Giggling she leaned in closer her eyes narrowing playfully at him. "I can't be Antonia Vivaldi, for I am not a man. Unless you're suggesting I am one, then I am quite wounded by your words!"

Roma went wide-eyed, "No, not at all! To suggest you as anything but the beautiful woman you are would insult me thrice as much as yourself." He flushed at the last comment, his tone even lowering to a barely audible level with his own sudden realization. "Maybe it would be better to call you a Nicola Benedetti...?"

"M...me? B...beautiful?! You're thinking of some other girl surely." Turning her gaze away she blushed a rather dark shade of red, though her mouth turned down in a rather heartbroken frown. She truly liked him....a lot actually. And the thought of him thinking of another girl as beautiful, it sent a deep pang of pain to her heart. Though she forced a small smile onto her lips, her gaze still avoiding his, knowing that if she took one look into those eyes right now the tears she was holding back would burst. "Better but no I could never match her talent, I hardly enjoy looking at the instrument let alone play it so beautifully."
How had she been hurt? His mistress was a strange creature, sensitive to so many things. Though he had to admit she seemed fairly....enthralled by this male. Perhaps, this was who she needed to become more confident in her abilities....

Roma tilted his head at her expression, "...Why would I say something if I didn't mean it? And, to be honest, the only other girls I've met are my family members...." He looked at the instrument on the floor and picked it up gently, testing the strings with a paw before trying to play, the sound like a cat on a chalkboard, "ACK." He quickly put it back down, his face beet red, "I'm sure you can play better than that, so...."

Well that was a relief...he actually meant it when he said she was pretty...wait he thought she was pretty?! Turning her head to him she opened her mouth, ready to leap into a whole bunch of crap she wasn't even sure she was ready for yet, and clenched her teeth shut tightly at the not so nice noise that assaulted her. "Eh I'd say Violin isn't your thing."
Coming up beside him she picked up the bow and a small rectangular container near it. Opening the box she began to apply the resin until she felt it was covered enough. "I'm sure it's not you though, I hadn't put any resin on it and that's a big no no when it comes to most string instruments." Picking it up she nestled it under her chin and delicately ran the bow across the strings, notes pouring from it. Taking it off her shoulder she smiled at him. "See? That's all it needed! Now try again!" Offering him the violin she grinned brightly at him, totally unaware that she had just played what she had sworn she would never play.

Roma flicked his ear back, embarrassed, "You can play, as I thought..." but picked it back up, trying to play 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' only to hear a less-annoying, but still etchy tune. He shivered and quickly put it back down, pouting internally, "Nope, not my thing..." He tweaked at a smile and pushed it back towards her, "Go on, you know you want to."

Giggling she gently took it from him but instead of playing it she placed it down on the ground "Eh no. I would rather play something a little more......exotic and unusual then the violin. And I think you played wonderfully for a first timer." Secretly using her tail she shoved the instrument away from the two of them. "I prefer my voice out of any instrument though, and dancing right after that!" Grabbing both his paws she tugged him toward the open space next to her practice area. "Come on dance with me!"

Roma quickly stood, following her willingly with a bounce in his step. "Alright, I'm coming!" He laughed out loud, tugging her close to him and playfully leading her into a fast tango, belting goofy notes to keep up with his lighthearted, although crazy, dancing. He dipped her back and leaned in close for a teasingly long period before lifting her back up again.

Laughing she blushed brightly as he pulled her close, easily falling into the tango and letting him lead her wherever he wished. "I didn't know you were also a dancer Roma! The things I learn...." Dipping back she laughed again but quickly stopped when he got oh so close, her nerves kicking in again. Leaning forward she stopped herself from kissing him and easily allowed him to lift her, a smile on her face. "Tango? Kind of umm romantic dance isn't it?"
