 Duskback found himself awake... earlier than everyone else, it seemed. He took a quick look around, and saw that the sun was setting- the heat of the day was still heavy upon the lands, but it was slowly giving way to the night's cooler presence. Duskback was happy for this- his dark coat turned the sun into a curse. He was much happier to meander about by moonlight, as was custom. He rose, though, and padded to the edge of the den, watching the sun set before him. He tilted his head a bit and watched it go down, really only paying attention to the changes around him. After all, he didn't want to wake anyone.
Duskback had seen sunsets before, but never really paid attention to them. He found that he was truly enjoying it, and he understood the origin of his name. At dusk, right after the sun set, the sky turned a color similar to his spots on his back... It didn't happen every dusk, but it did for this one. That brought a smile to his face, and a little wag to his tail.

 Frostpaw breathed in deeply - a shift in the air was enough to wake him most of the time. The gentle shift from warmth to a bit drafty roused him fully from that half-sleep. Everything was blurry, and he tried to figure out who had moved without actually seeing them. He saw a purple speckled back and he tried his hardest to figure out if it was Brighteyes or Duskback.
Frostpaw shifted and wiggled his way from his siblings and made his way towards the figure. "Ah. "Morning, Dusky," he blinked blearily out at the sun.

Duskback's ear flicked as he heard a voice greet him this evening. It was his brother, though he couldn't discern between a couple of them... He turned to see who it was. "Ah, hey Frostpaw," he greeted with a smile and a wagging tail. "I woke you up, didn't I?" he asked, face turning to one of dismay. Duskback had never wanted to wake up anyone, really, he never truly knew if his family was just getting up because of him, or if they were getting up by nature.
The dog yawned before continuing speaking, still waking up himself. "Got any plans for tonight, Frostpaw?" he asked, hoping the answer was a no. Duskback wanted to... well, hang out with someone. He had absolutely no plans, and that always made him want to make that change.

"It got colder," he answered with a smile. So, it wasn't really Duskback's fault, but his own. Its just how he was, really. He liked the loving warmth of body heat when he was sleeping, and he often woke when others did.
He gave a small stretch to work the sleep out of his back. "I haven't planned anything," he shook his head. He only wandered around sometimes to try to find someone to play with.
He was unsuccessful sometimes, but it didn't bring him down.

The young dog felt a twinge of guilt- just a twinge. After all, his brother didn't seem to care too awful much, so he didn't mind either. Sometimes it was difficult to live in the now, but he'd decided to work on it.
And with that, he dropped it like a rock.
"Well then... Wanna go cricket-hunting?" he offered with a dog-like smirk and eager tail-wag. Around others, outside of his family, Duskback wouldn't ever be caught this excited to go cricket hunting... But family was a different story. He could be seen perfectly transparently around them. Especially around them. "Whaddya say?" he asked, ready to go.
