Log 1 Viva Viva was "skipping," or trying to, down the path along the river. She wasn't really going anywhere she was just moving. Zaid Zaid was standing on a hill just watching, as the othe rpony moved strangely in to his line of sight. Viva Viva was suddenly feeling strange. Like someone was around. She started looking but didn't see anyone around. She thought that she was just being silly. Zaid Zaid moved so he could see the other pony. As soon as he saw where the other was going he sped ahead to intercept her. Viva Viva had forgotten about the strange feeling of earlier. She was enjoying a nice solitary walk, er, skip down the path. She was growing aware of someone thundering through the bushes. Zaid Zaid bulled his way through the bushes on to the path. He looked both up and down the path searching for the pony. Viva Viva jumped back and stared at the other pony. Zaid "Hi!" he was slightly out of breath. Viva She stared at him, a bit flustered. Zaid Zaid looked at the ground and up again. "Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you."

Log 2 Viva Viva was unsure what she was feeling but fear was not what it was. She knew fear. She just looked at the other pony. Zaid Zaid was starting to feel uncomfortable. He cleared his throat a few times. Viva Viva shook her head and blinked. "I'm just not used to anyone jumping out at me." Zaid "Oh, sorry. I saw you and wanted to know what you were doing." He looked around. "I've never seen anyone move like that before." Viva She was surprised anyone was watching. "I was trying to skip. I've only see it once, but I don't think I've quite got it yet." Zaid "Why would you want to… what did you call it? Skip?" Viva It looked like fun and I've never done it before. I like to try new things." She sounded just a bit defensive. Zaid Zaid took a step back. "Sorry, again. I wasn't… didn't mean to upset you. I just like to know things. I'm always getting into trouble with others." Viva Viva was startled. No one has ever admitted that they have any kind of complution like hers. "How long has this been going on?" Zaid "For as long as I can remember," he tilted his head. "I've always wanted to KNOW." he blinked. "Why?"

Log 3 Viva She smiled for the first time, "Is that your need to know asking?" Zaid He smiled back. "Yeah, I think so." Viva "I was thinking I was the only one who had this… need… I guess it is." She looked to the right and back again. "I never thought anyone else would be like me." Zaid Eyebrows lowered in thought, Ziad said, "You know, I never thought to ask anyone if they had a need to do or say anything." Viva Viva sighed. "Now you have another question to ask." She looked at him closely. "That seems to have brightened your day." Zaid He had perked up a bit. He just smiled at her. Viva Ah, someone who understands. She was not sure if she was happy about that or not. So much to think about. Her head was starting to hurt. Zaid He was surprised someone knew what he was going through. Maybe he would try to hold on to this one. Viva She didn't like the gleam that popped into his eyes. "What are you thinking?" Zaid He tried to look innocent, but not having any practice at it he failed.

Log 4 Viva "I'm not sure I really want to hear about it." Zaid "All I was thinking, well, wondering is if you would like to come with me to find out." Viva She was surprised at the question. Others don't want to spend a lot of time with her. Being a demon and all. She took a closer look at the other pony and realized that he was a demon too. Well now, this had possiblities. Zaid Now he was a bit nervous by her response to his question. "What?" he said nervously. Viva "Oh, nothing," she did a better job of looking innocent. "Where did you think about where we could go to find out?" Zaid He blinked and shook his head. "Don't have a clue. You?" Viva "Nope." She looked the way she had come. Noooo, better not to go back that way. "What about this way?" Pointing her nose in the direction she had been going. Zaid Zaid looked both ways himself. He didn't really care where they went as long as it was together. "That's as good as any, I guess." Viva She smiled and started to walk the way she had been going. "So, if we are to travel together, we may as well share our names." She looked at him through her lashes. "I'm Viva." Zaid He had never had anyone ask his name before. Confused, he simply said "Zaid."

Log 5 Viva "Pleased to meet you, Zaid." She was pretty sure that was the right response. Zaid He just nodded not sure what was expected. But he started walking alongside Viva when she came up to him. Viva Now Viva was sure she had said the right thing and was content to walk beside Zaid. Zaid. What a cool name. "What does that mean?" Zaid "What?" he was going to be content to be confused by this strange being he was with. Viva She tried to skip a couple of steps. "Zaid - What does it mean?" Zaid Now he had no idea what she meant. "Zaid is just me. No meanin gthat I know of." Viva "Oh, I just wondered. Someone asked me that once about my name." She glanced at Zaid's profile. "I didn't know the answer to that either." Zaid "Ah, more questions to ask… I like it!" he grinned broadly. Viva She couldn't help but smile back. "Glad to be of help." Zaid He was going to really like this girl. Now if he could keep her interested, that would be a plus.

Log 6 Viva "Where were you headed?" she inquired. Zaid "Oh, nowhere in particular. Just where the wind blew me." Zaid "No, that just… doesn't mean anything." Zaid "Just for something to say. People say that just to fill in the gap." Zaid "Nonononono, I'm just talking to talk." Viva She looked at him strangely. "Oookay." Zaid He knew he was losing her, can't go five minutes without saying something stupid. "Ummm….Is the lake this way?"

Log 7 Viva "I don't know, I haven't been in this area before. Have you?" Zaid "Actually… I have no idea where we are," he looked around. "Want to keep heading this way or do you have a better way to go?" Viva "Nnno," she looks around. "I'm not really sure where we are either. So I guess any way is a good way." She continued walking ahead. Zaid He was a little bit relieved, she wasn't running away from him yet, and he was content to walk beside her without saying anything. Viva She was looking around as they strolled and up ahead she spoted a patch of green and blue flowers. Zaid He was watching her real close and noticed when she seemed to spot something. Viva As they approched the flowers, Viva looked at Zaid and said, "Why don't we take a little break here?" Zaid Zaid looked closely at the flowers and he wasn't sure he liked the way they looked. There seemed to be something shady about them. "I don't think that would be such a good idea." Viva She was surprised. It looked like such a nice spot. "I don't understand, what's wrong with it?" Zaid He was looking closely at the flowers. "It just doesn't look safe to me. Maybe we should just keep going."

Log 8 Viva She looked at him with a tilted head, "What do you mean, it doesn't look safe? They're flowers! What could flowers do to us?" Zaid "I haven't got a clue. I just don't like the way it looks. Like something's wrong with it." Viva She huffed at him. "I can't understand what's wrong with this place." She took a determined step toward the flowers. Zaid He tried to block her, and in doing so, he stepped in the flowers himself. The ground shifted out from under him and he nearly fell into a pit. The only thing saving him was his wings. Viva She took a step back, clearly frightened. "What happened?" Zaid He hovered over the pit, looked at the pit and looked at her. "I think it was a trap." Viva She was staring at the hole. "I don't think I would have been fast enough with the wings to keep from falling in. You saved me." Zaid He looked at her, kind of smiled shakily, and said, "All in a day's work. I think we better get out of here." Zaid "Might as well, I'm already up here."

Log 9 Viva She took off and they headed up over the tree tops. Zaid "I wonder who we can report that to." Viva "Not from around here, remember? I don't know who we should go to. Do you see anyone we can ask?" Zaid "Kind of not sure, because anyone we talk to, may have set it." Viva "Not a help. We can't look at anyone we meet as a possible threat." Zaid "Well then, who are we going to tell? The wind?" Viva "No, don't be silly. Why would the wind care about a hole in the ground?" Zaid He sighed. "I was being sarcastic." Viva She looked at him. "Oh. Maybe you should tell me next time you decide to do that, so I'll know." Zaid They were flying eastward over the treetops and spotted the glint of water in the distance. "Well, I think we found the lake."

Log 10 Viva "Oh, good. Let's head that way. Maybe we'll see someone we can talk to." Zaid "Yeah, well, if they don't run away when they see us. Demons, remember? For some reason people seem to run away from me." Viva "I don't really have that problem. I don't know why, but people seem to keep coming up to me and asking me to do things for them. Something about in exchange for their soul? Now, I don't understand that. Why would I want their soul?" Zaid "I've never had that problem, but that does seem strange. You've already got one, you don't need more." Viva "I think they're just picking on me. But some of the things they ask for, I don't get." Zaid "What do they ask you for?" Viva "Shiny bikes. Picture windows. Baby buggies. Toilet paper." Viva "Haven't got a clue. Like I said, I don't know what they're asking me this stuff for." Zaid "They must just be picking on you. Although why they would pick on you and run from me, I don't know. Do I look scarier than you?" He looked at himself then looked at her. "Nah. That can't be it."
